  • The paper by Kurkjian and Zelen(1963) introducted the Property A which related to a structural property of concordance matrix of the column incidence matrix. On the other hand, Paik(1985) showed the property of the concordance matrix, which has multinested block circulant pattern matrix, and this structural property was termed Property C by Paik(1985). This paper classifies the incomplete block designs according to the pattern of the concordence matrix which has multi-nested block circulant pattern. The purpose of this classification simplified the solution of reduced normal equation and plan of the design.

  • Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), also called matrixins, function in the extracellular environment of cells and degrade both matrix and non-matrix proteins. They are multidomain proteins and their activities are regulated by tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases (TIMPs). The uncontrolled regulation of MMPs is involved in various pathologic processes, such as tumor invasion, migration, host immune escape, extravasation, angiogenesis, and tumor growth. Especially, matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) is one of the metastasis-accelerating genes involved in metastasis of various types of human cancers. Here, we review the member of MMP family and discusses their domain structure and function, enzyme activation, the mechanism of inhibition by TIMPs. In particular, we focus the role of MMP-9 in relation to cancer metastasis.

  • In this paper, we concentrate on reducing the complexity for efficient encoder. We design structural LDPC code using circulant matrix and permutation matrix and eIRA code. It is possible to design low complex encoder by using shift register and differential encoder and interleaver than general LDPC encoder that use matrix multiplication operation. The code designed by this structure shows similar performance as random code. And the proposed codes can considerably reduce a number of XOR gates.

  • The joint characteristics are necessary to be determined in the early stage of the vehicle body design. Researches on identification of joints in a vehicle body have been performed until the recent year. In this study, the joint characteristics of vehicle struct- ure were expressed as condensed forms from the full joint stiffness and mass matrix. The condensed joint stiffness and mass matrix were applied to typical T-type and Edge-type joints, and the usefulness was confirmed. In addition, those were applied to center pillar and full vehicle body to validate the practical application.

  • In this paper, pulse-width modulation (PWM) control strategy of various topologies of matrix converters is presented, which is based on direct duty ratio PWM (DDPWM). Because the DDPWM method has the characteristics of the inherent per-phase modular structure, it can be effectively applied to single-phase, two-phase and three-phase four-leg matrix converters as well as the common three-phase to three-phase matrix converter. Also, this paper treats command generation method in each matrix converter. The feasibility and validity of the proposed method are verified by experimental results.

  • The method of building the system state matrix described here is the direct method which constructs elements of state matrix directly by the algebraic expressions from the machine data with time constants. From this method, it is reasonable to confirm the structure of state matrix and the relation of submatrices and elements efficiently. In this paper the interrelationship of submatrices of system matrix is investigated and a constitution of system matrix considering time constants.

  • Low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes have recently emerged due to their excellent performance. However, the parity check (H) matrices of the previous works are not adequate for hardware implementation of encoders or decoders. This paper proposes a hybrid parity check matrix which is efficient in hardware implementation of both decoders and encoders. The hybrid H-matrices are constructed so that both the semi-random technique and the partly parallel structure can be applied to design encoders and decoders. Using the proposed methods, the implementation of encoders can become practical while keeping the hardware complexity of the partly parallel decoder structures. An encoder and a decoder are designed using Verilog-HDL and are synthesized using a $0.35 {\mu}m$ CMOS standard cell library.

  • Although the problems of defects and nonmetallic inclusion in metal fatigue are very complicated it is particularly important to view these problems from the perspective that defects and inclusions are virtually equivalent to small cracks. This concept will help us to understand various fatigue phenomena caused by graphite of Ductile cast iron. Therefore in this study different ferrite-pearlite matrix structure and pheroidal ratio of graphite of 70%, 80% and 90% GCD40 , GCD45-2 series have been carried out rotary bending fatigue test estimated the maxi-mum size of graphite investigated correlation. It was concluded as follows : (1) in ductile cast iron which have various spheroidal ratio of graphite the fatigue limit C series of 90% spheroidal ratio of graphite is the highest. While A series of 70% spheroidal ratio of graphite is the lowest (2) fatigue limit was predicted by vickers hardness(Hv) of matrix {{{{ SQRT {area } }}}} of maximum size graphite inputting Murakami and Endo's formula.

  • A method for actively minimizing dynamic reaction forces in a flexible structure subject to persistent excitations is presented. One difficulty with the method, however, is that forces and moments do not converge as quickly as displacements in mathematical discretization of continuous systems, so a controller based on a truncated model of a continuous system can produce poor results. A technique using residual flexibility matrix is presented for correcting the truncated force representation. A controller designed for reaction force minimization, using the residual flexibility matrix, is applied to a model of a flexible structure, and the results are presented. Implications of various reaction force penalty combinations on the resulting control performance are also discussed.

  • The paper unleashes a new idea to arrive at reduced switch count topological structures configured in the form of a matrix for a cascaded Multi level inverter (CMLI). The theory encircles to minimize the number of switches involved in the conduction path and there from acclaim reduced input current distortion, lower switching losses and electromagnetic interference. The focus extends to standardize the number of power devices required for reaching different levels of output voltage from the same architecture. It includes appropriate pulse width modulation (PWM) strategy to generate firing pulses and ensure the desired operation of the power modules. The investigative study carries with it MATLAB based simulation and experimental results obtained using suitable prototypes to illustrate the viability of the proposed concept. The promising nature of the performance projects a new dimension in the use of single phase MLIs for renewable energy related applications.
