  • The affirmative feature which web based learning and problem based learning in the self directed learning having on-line and off-line study it amalgamates in connection Blended Learning method and specially in mathematics subject as a service course. We introduce a model of BL lecture of Mathematics and tried to find a new way for the quality improvement of university education.

  • The paper deals with the interaction between three Griffith cracks propagating under antiplane shear stress at the interface of two dissimilar infinite elastic half-spaces. The Fourier transform technique is used to reduce the elastodynamic problem to the solution of a set of integral equations which has been solved by using the finite Hilbert transform technique and Cooke’s result. The analytical expressions for the stress intensity factors at the crack tips are obtained. Numerical values of the interaction efect have been computed for and results show that interaction effects are either shielding or amplification depending on the location of each crack with respect to other and crack tip spacing.   • Mathematical creativity, an important goal in mathematics education, can be promoted through an integrated learning environment where students explore mathematics with other subject areas such as science, technology, engineering and art. Establishing such learning environments is not a trivial task. Therefore, this creates a need for the development of instructional resources promoting meaningful integration. This paper focuses on integration of the fields of mathematics and music. Beginning with some of the historical discoveries and views of the connections between mathematics and music, this paper attends to several musical concepts correlating to middle school mathematical content and then provides ideas for teaching.

Effect of mathematics education program in linked to outdoor movement activities on the object manipulation abilities of young children

  • The purpose of this study to discover what effect the mathematics education program linked to outdoor movement activities have on the ability to manipulate objects. The subject of study was a kindergarten class. The experimental and comparative groups consisted of 20 people each. In order to verify the effect of applying the early childhood mathematics education program in connection with outdoor movement activities, a total of 15 weeks of program was conducted for young children. As a result of conducting this study, it was found that a mathematics education program linked to outdoor movement activities improves the ability to manipulate objects. The discussion based on the results of this study is as follows. First, we suggest to specific activities that can be performed in an outdoor environment should be developed and applied to the field of early childhood education. Second, we suggest that It is necessary to program various subjects that link to outdoor movement activities. Third, we suggest what various measures are needed to improve the young children's ability to manipulate objects.

A Meta Review of the Researches on PCK in Mathematics (수학의 교수학적 내용 지식(PCK)에 대한 연구의 메타적 검토)

  • Considering the fact that PCK(pedogogical content knowledge) tends to guarantee the identity of mathematics education as a discipline and the teacher professionalism, PCK is one of the core concepts in the research on subject matter education. The purpose of this study is to review domestic and international researches on the definition and the components of PCK in mathematics. Based on the review, this study identified 3 knowledges which consist PCK; knowedge of mathematic content, knowledge of learner's understanding, and knowledge of teaching. Then this study provided some examples of PKC in the topic, the limit of sequences, and introduced the LMT and TEDS-M items, which were designed to measure the teacher's PCK. Lastly, this study attempted to evaluate the items on mathematics education included in the Teacher Employment Test administered for pre-service/. teachers in Korea based on PCK.

  • In this paper, we consider the multi-point boundary value problems for one-dimensional p-Laplacian at resonance: $({\phi}_p(x'(t)))'=f(t,x(t),x'(t))$, subject to the boundary value conditions: ${\phi}_p(x'(0))={\sum}^{n-2}_{i=1}{\alpha}_i{\phi}_p(x'({\epsilon}i)),\;{\phi}_p(x'(1))={\sum}^{m-2}_{i=1}{\beta}_j{\phi}_p(x'({\eta}_j))$ where ${\phi}_p(s)=/s/^{p-2}s,p>1,\;{\alpha}_i(1,{\le}i{\le}n-2){\in}R,{\beta}_j(1{\le}j{\le}m-2){\in}R,0<{\epsilon}_1<{\epsilon}_2<...<{\epsilon}_{n-2}1,\;0<{\eta}1<{\eta}2<...<{\eta}_{m-2}<1$, By applying the extension of Mawhin's continuation theorem, we prove the existence of at least one solution. Our result is new.

COUNTING THE CINTRALIZERS OF SOME FINITE GROUPS

  • For a finite group G, #Cent(G) denotes the number of cen-tralizers of its clements. A group G is called n-centralizer if #Cent( G) = n. and primitive n-centralizer if #Cent(G) = #Cent(${\frac}{G}{Z(G)$) = n. In this paper we compute the number of distinct centralizers of some finite groups and investigate the structure of finite groups with Qxactly SLX distinct centralizers. We prove that if G is a 6-centralizer group then ${\frac}{G}{Z(G)$${\cong}D_8$,$A_4$, $Z_2{\times}Z_2{\times}Z_2$ or $Z_2{\times}Z_2{\times}Z_2{\times}Z_2$.

  • A new model of generalized thermoelasticity equations for isotropic media with temperature-dependent mechanical properties is established. The modulus of elasticity is taken as a linear function of reference temperature. The present model is described both generalizations, Lord Shulman (L-S) theory with one relaxation time and Green-Lindsay (G-L) with two relaxation times, as well as the coupled theory, instantaneously. The method of the matrix exponential, which constitutes the basis of the state space approach of modern control theory, applied to two-dimensional equations. Laplace and Fourier integral transforms are used. The resulting formulation is applied to a problem of a thick plate subject to heating on parts of the upper and lower surfaces of the plate that varies exponentially with time. Numerical results are given and illustrated graphically for the problem considered. A comparison was made with the results obtained in case of temperature-independent modulus of elasticity in each theory.

  • It seems that it is critical to comprehend mathematics as a tool subject in order to understand a number of calculations in the professional subjects in the vocational high schools. This study is designed to determine "how much mathematics is connected to specialized subjects in terms of mathematical content at vocational high schools". To investigate the research questions, this study examined the connections between the mathematical topics included in professional subjects and those of mathematics subjects in the vocational high school. In the end, this study suggest that is should be necessary to make new mathematics textbook which reflects the reality and needs of the present vocational high school students.

  • The aims of the study were to analyze the San-Sul-Kwa textbook under the rule of Japanese Imperialism(1909~1945). It was analyzed that the contents of San-Sul-Kwa were selected for the purpose of national interests of Japanese as a ruling country through four times of amendment of education and many kinds of drill and practice in terms of number and operations were emphasized toward entire grades. However, some parts of textbook over the period seem to have had significant affects on mathematics education of Korea since the period.
