초등학교 수학과 수행평가 실천에 관한 연구 - 자기평가.동료평가.관찰평가를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Practice of Performance Assessment in the Elementary School Mathematics - Focussing on Self-assessment and Peer-observation -)

  • 본 연구는 초등학교에서 이루어지는 수행평가 실시에서의 문제점을 인식하고 자기평가, 동료평가 및 관찰평가의 실천을 통하여 평가에 따르는 시간적인 제약을 줄이고, 평가의 결과를 교수 학습계획에 반영시킴으로써 평가를 통한 초등수학과 교수 학습의 개선에 대한 시사점을 찾아보고자 이루어졌다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 연구자는 초등학교 2학년 1개 반 학생 40명을 대상으로 자기평가, 동료평가를 실시하고 '재미있는 놀이를 하여 봅시다' 차시의 운영과정에서 관찰평가를 한 학기동안 적용하였으며 평가의 적용과정에서 얻어진 학생들의 자기평가결과물(수학일지, 자기평가지, 평가의 과정에서의 대화내용)과 관찰평가 결과물(체크리스트, 놀이 활동 결과물, 놀이의 과정에서의 대화내용)을 분석해 보았다.

Test of Homogeneity Baseon Complex Survey Data : Discussion Based on Power of Test

  • In the secondary data analysis for categorical data, situations often arise in which the estimated cell variances are available, but not the full matrix of variances. In this case researchers are often inclined to use Pearson-type test statistics for homogeneity. However, for a complex sample observed cell proportions are not distributed as multinomial and Pearson-type test statistic generally is not distributed asymptotically as chi-square distribution. This paper evaluates powers for Wald test and Pearson-type test and the first order corrected test of Pearson-type test for homogeneity. The resulting power curves indicate that as the misspecification effect increases, the amount of inflation of significance level and the loss of power Pearson-type test are getting more severe.

Students Approaches in Constructing Convincing Arguments in Geometry Using Technology: A Case Study

  • Mathematically, a proof is to create a convincing argument through logical reasoning towards a given proposition or a given statement. Mathematics educators have been working diligently to create environments that will assist students to perform proofs. One of such environments is the use of dynamic-geometry-software in the classroom. This paper reports on a case study and intends to probe into students' own thinking, patterns they used in completing certain tasks, and the extent to which they have utilized technology. Their tasks were to explore the shape-to-shape, shape-to-part, and part-to-part interrelationships of geometric objects when dealing with certain geometric problem-solving situations utilizing dissection-motion-operation (DMO).

  • The membership of the generalized local cohomology modules $H_a^i$(M,N) of two R-modules M and N with respect to an ideal a in certain Serre subcategories of the category of modules is studied from below ($i<t$). Furthermore, the behaviour of the $n$th graded component $H_a^i(M,N)_n$ of the generalized local cohomology modules with respect to an ideal containing the irrelevant ideal as $n{\rightarrow}-{\infty}$ is investigated by using the above result, in certain graded situations.

  • A theorem of Robert Blumenthal is used here in order to obtain a sufficient condition for a function between two Finsler manifolds to be a fibre bundle map. Our study is connected with two possible constructions: 1) a Finslerian generalization of usually Kaluza-Klein theories which use Riemannian metrics, the well-known particular case of Finsler metrics, 2) a Finslerian version of reduction process from geometric mechanics. Due to a condition in the Blumenthal's result the completeness of Euler-Lagrange vector fields of Finslerian type is discussed in detail and two situations yielding completeness are given: one concerning the energy and a second related to Finslerian fundamental function. The connection of our last framework, namely a regular Lagrangian having the energy as a proper (in topological sense) function, with the celebrated $Poincar{\acute{e}}$ Recurrence Theorem is pointed out.

Estimation for the Time-t Discounted Price of Multiple Defaultable Zero Coupon Bond

  • We consider a multiple defaultable zero coupon bond. Assuming defaults occur according to a marked point process, we explain how to estimate the time-t discounted price of zero coupon bond by simulation. For the special case of a given specific random face value, we show that the real probability measure is the risk neutral probability measure. In this case the time-t discounted conditional price can be obtained by observing a single sample path upto the time t in the real world. Furthermore the time-t discounted price can be estimated by observing real situations or by simulation under the real probability measure.

The Relationship between Posing and Solving Arithmetic Word Problems among Chinese Elementary School Children

  • Recent research has documented that there is a close relationship between problem posing and problem solving in arithmetic. However, most studies investigated the relationship between problem posing and problem solving only by means of standard problem situations. In order to overcome that shortcoming, a pilot study with Chinese fourth-graders was done to investigate this relationship using a non-standard, realistic problem situation. The results revealed a significant positive relationship between students' problem posing and solving abilities. Based on that pilot study, a more extensive and systematic ascertaining study was carried out to confirm the observed relationship between problem posing and problem solving among Chinese elementary school children. Results confirmed that there was indeed a close relationship between both skills.

  • In the problem of some sequential estimation, the stopping times may be written in the form $N(c) = inf{n \geq n_0; n \geq c^2 S^2_n/\delta^2 (\bar{X}_n)}$ where ${s^2_n}$ and ${\bar{X}_n}$ are the sequences of sample variance and sample mean of the independently and identically distributed (i.i.d.) random variables with distribution $F_{\theta}(x), \theta \in \Theta$, respectively, and $\delta$ is either constant or any given positive real valued function. We obtain some asymptotic normality and asymptotic expectation of the N(c) in various limiting situations. Specially, uniform asymptotic normality and uniform asymptotic expectation of the N(c) are given.

An improved estimation procedure of population mean using bivariate auxiliary information under non-response

  • We propose new classes of estimators of population mean under non-response using bivariate auxiliary information. Some improved regression (or difference) type estimators have been proposed in four different situations of non response along with their properties and the expressions for the bias and mean square errors of the proposed estimators are derived under double (two-stage) sampling scheme. The properties of the suggested class of estimators are studied and it is observed that the proposed estimators performed better when compared to conventional estimators proposed by Singh and Kumar (Journal of Statistical Planning and Inference, 140, 2536-2550, 2010b), Shabbir and Khan (Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 42, 4127-4145, 2013) and Bhushan and Naqvi (Journal of Statistics and Management Systems, 18, 573-602, 2015). A comparative study is also conducted both theoretically as well as empirically in order to support the results.

소수 개념의 교수학적 분석 (A Didactical Analysis of the Decimal fraction Concept)

  • 소수는 십진기수법의 완성을 통해 실수의 표준기호화를 가능하게 하며 실수의 본질을 이해하는데 핵심적 역할을 하는 기본 개념이다. 우리나라 학교수학에서는 소수 개념에 대하여 분수의 다른 이름이라는 측면이 강조되고 그 밖의 중요한 여러 측면이 소홀히 지도된 채 성급한 알고리즘화가 시도되고 있다. 그 결과 학생들은 소수 개념을 적절히 이해하지 못한 채 형식적인 계산 조작의 대상으로 파악하며, 이는 무한소수인 실수 개념 이해의 심각한 장애 요인으로 작용한다는 문제점이 제기된다. 이에 본 논문에서는 학교수학의 주요 개념의 하나인 소수 개념에 대하여 그 교수학적 분석을 시도하여 그 주요한 교육적 문제점의 근원을 드러내고 그 개선방안을 제시하였다.
