2000년대 웨딩드레스 스타일의 패션이미지와 구성요소 표현특성 (A Study on the Expressive Characteristics of Design Elements and Fashion Images Shown in Wedding Dress Styles in the 2000s)

  • This study aimed to analyze the expressive characteristics of design elements and fashion images shown in wedding dress styles in the 2000s. The findings were as follows. First, in wedding dress style the fashion images analysis showed that classic images appeared the most frequently, and fantastic, modern, kitsch, sexy, futuristic and ethnic images appeared the most, respectively. Second, design elements analysis of fashion images concluded that as for the appearance frequency of the silhouette, A line was the highest in classic, fantastic and kitsch images and H line was the highest in ethnic, modern, futuristic and sexy image. As for the appearance frequency of the necklines, bared top neckline was the highest in all of the fashion images. As for waistlines, natural waistlines except modern image of obscure waistlines appeared the most frequently in all of the images. As for sleeve, sleeveless appeared the most frequently in all of the images. As for material, see-through was the highest in ethnic, classic, sexy, fantastic and kitsch images. Luster material was the highest in modern and futuristic image. As for colors, white and achromatic, traditional wedding dress color, appeared the same in all of the seven fashion images, but chromatic colors appeared the most frequently in ethnic images. Third, the distinguishing expression features of fashion images shown in the wedding dress style of the times is as follows: 'Total fashion in wedding dress style', 'Emphasizes sexy image expression in wedding dress style', 'Various co-existence of wedding dress style', and 'Avant-garde expression in wedding dress style'.

온라인 게임 캐릭터에 나타난 신체와 복식의 표현 유형과 미적 특성 (Types of Expression and Aesthetic Characteristics of On-line Game Characters' Body and Costume)

  • This study is to examine the types of expression and aesthetic characteristics of on-line game characters by analyzing those game characters' body and their costume that appear in various domestic on-line game sites. It is shown in this study that types of the human bodies and costume expressed through the game characters are grouped into five categories such as exposure and tightness, enlargement and exaggeration, curtailment and simplification, gender stereotype and unification. Furthermore, there are four typical aesthetic characteristics resulting from those types of expressions; First, 'grotesque' is expressed in the form of extreme enlargement and exaggeration, extreme exposure and concealment, combined images among human, animal or machine, or monstrous devilish images. Second, in an effort to express 'eroticism', bodies are directly exposed, see-through costumes are used in order to emphasize the body lines or very tight designs are used. Third, 'futuristic' characteristics are shown through geometrical shape and silhouette, machine-like details, strong artificial colors or glossy hi-tech material. Lastly, 'pastiche' is expressed with reconciliation of variety of costumes of game characters. Various opposite or heterogeneous styles are combined or harmonized each other to show pastiche, of which examples are male and female, superior culture and inferior one, rich and poor, oriental and western, human and machine, human and nature or past and future, etc.

  • The overall trend of the contemporary society which is characterized by the variety and de-unification shows many that object to the language system of the structuralism. The typical characteristics of deconstruction in contemporary architecture and products are deconstruction of meanings, deconstructuralism of he form by the use of material, new material, deconstruction of metaphor and way of expression, deconstruction of proportion and deconstruction of ideas. The design elements of the deconstruction are re-defying the function, changing shapes, the structures, metaphors, dening of the golden proportions and the emphasizing the kitsch elements. From the various style, the kitsch style is a phenomenon that comes from the way of representing emotion, inspiration, understanding of the popularity, and the authority of consumers for choice.

GaAs MESFET의 정전용량에 관한 특성 연구 (C-V Characteristics of GaAs MESFETs)

  • In this paper, C-V characteristics based on the structure of GaAs MESFET’s has been proposed with wide range of applied voltages and temperatures. Small signal capacitance; gate-source and gate-drain capacitances are represented by analytical expressions which are classified into two different regions; linear and saturation regions with bias voltages. The expression contains two variables; the built-in voltage( $V_{vi}$ )and the depletion width(W). Submicron gate length MESFETs has been selected to prove the validity of the theoretical perdiction and shows good agreement with the experimental data over the wide range of applied voltages.

2016년 코리아가든쇼 작가정원의 식물 의미에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Meaning of Plant Material in the 2016 Korea Garden Show Designer's Garden)

  • 본 논문은 2016년 코리아가든쇼의 9개 작가정원에서 식물 소재가 작가의 의도를 어떻게 반영하고 선택되는지 파악하고자 하였다. 식물 소재는 정원의 주제를 전달하기 위한 경우와 공간을 구성하기 위해 사용된 것으로 분석되었다. 'K-Garden, 가장 한국적인 멋을 담은 신한류 정원'이라는 주어진 주제 아래, 주제를 드러내기 위해 사용된 식물은 '재현' '표현'의 두 가지 유형으로 쓰이고 있었다. 한국적인 멋이 담긴 특정 공간을 모방하는 '재현'은 2개 정원이, 작가의 생각을 추상적인 개념이나 사물의 형상으로 나타내는 '표현'은 4개 정원이, '재현'과 '표현' 모두 사용한 정원은 3개 정원이다. 주제를 식물로 드러내는 방법은 '재현'보다 '표현'의 경향이 강했다. 한국적인 멋을 '재현'하는 공간은 채마밭, 수돗가, 연못, 들판, 자연, 한옥 중정, 대나무밭, 기와 지붕, 돌담, 바위, 산자락과 연결된 뒷마당 11개로 식재는 식물의 생태적 특성만을 반영하거나, 생태적 특성과 시각적 특성을 함께 고려한 2가지 경우로 나타났다. 생태적 특성을 반영한 식재는 11개 공간 모두에서 관찰되었는데, 9개 공간은 식물의 생육환경을 잘 반영한 반면, 나머지 2개는 작가의 의도와 달리 식물의 생태적 특성을 제대로 반영하지 못한 것으로 나타났다. 생태적 시각적 특성을 함께 고려한 4개의 공간의 경우, 시각적 특성으로 색상과 크기가 고려되었다. 주제를 '표현'한 7개 공간의 식물은 생태적 특성을 반영하기보다는 색상, 형태, 질감, 크기 순으로 시각적인 특성을 반영하여 선정되었고, 군식의 배식법도 적용되고 있었다. 공간을 구성하는 소재로 식물을 활용한 경우, Norman(1989)이 제시한 공간 위요변수 3가지(관개면, 수직면, 지피면)를 기준으로 분석하였는데, 관개면에는 단 2종의 낙엽 교목이 사용되고 있었고, 수직면에는 상록성 관목이 5종, 낙엽성은 30종으로 낙엽성 식물이 다양하게 사용되었다. 바닥면을 형성하는 식물은 45종(목본 9종, 초본 36종)으로, 정원별로 중복되지 않고, 다양한 초본이 활용되고 있었다. 이것은 가든쇼의 작가정원이 새로운 지피식물 소재를 대중에게 소개하는 역할을 하고 있다는 것을 보여준다. 9개 정원 중 3개 정원은 그저 장식적으로 사용된 식물이 없었고, 다른 정원에서도 장식적인 식물의 사용은 식재종수에 비해 미약한 편으로 코리아가든쇼 작가 정원에서 식물은 대부분 주제를 드러내거나, 공간을 구성하는 의도를 가지고 활용되고 있음을 알 수 있다. 2016년 코리아가든쇼 작가 정원에서 식물은 공간을 구성하기 보다는 주제를 드러내는 소재로 많은 수종이 활용되고 있었으며, 주제를 드러내는 방법은 '재현'보다는 '표현'의 방법을 사용한 정원이 많은 것으로 보아, 식물은 생태적 특성보다는 색상, 형태, 질감, 크기 등 시각적 특성을 보다 많이 반영하여 식재되고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

현대 구조적 패션디자인에 나타난 구조미의 표현방식에 대한 연구 - 산티아고 칼라뜨라바의 건축특성을 중심으로 - (A study on expression methods for structural aesthetics in modern fashion design - Focus on the architectural characteristics of Santiago Calatrava -)

  • The structural aesthetics of architecture are becoming an inspirational source for many fashion designers and have been reborn in structural fashion. This study planned to analyze the method of expression of structural aesthetics expressed in modern structural fashion design and the construction method to maximize such an effect on the basis of the construction characteristic of Santiago Calatrava as the representative architect of the structural aesthetic. According to the study, the structural aesthetics expressed in modern structural fashion design are as follows: 1) The symbolical formative aesthetic expressed by symbolical inference and analyzation; 2) the dynamic beauty of physic expressed by visual emphasis and dynamics; and 3) the asymmetric beauty of symmetry expressed by metastasis toward the boundary between balance and imbalance. In addition, to maximize structural aesthetics, we used repetition and a progressive technique based on rhythm, asymmetry, and incision-based variances, such as balance, polygon flux, and inference, and analyzation-based distortion as the structuring principle. The following expression methods for maximizing structural aesthetics were found: 1) symbolical and structural exaggeration of appearance; 2) detail technique expansion and material property diversification; and 3) the three-dimensional transformation of structure and shell expression. Structural fashion design was found to have maximized structural aesthetics by using such expression methods to secure artistic esthetics, destroy existing shapes and patterns, and create unique shapes.

내 집과 같은 노인시설주거 디자인 특성에 관한 연구(III) -중년층의 선호하는 주택과 노후 주택의 물리적 특성을 중심으로 - (Homelike Design Characteristics of The Elderly Housing Facility(III) - Based on the preferred housing characteristics of the middle aged -)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the homelike design characteristics of elderly housing facility. To investigate what the preference of physical design characteristics are, interview was done by unstructured questionnaire to 30 middle aged and middle income group housewives living in Seoul. It was identified that preferred homelike physical characteristics of the houses were composed of 4 themes, housing types, building appearences and garden, floor plan and natural and social environments of its location. Their desirable housing standard was amenity which is the highest level of home environment. In their later life, they wanted to live in vicinity of Seoul to enjoy cultural benefits of the city and active outdoor activities in sunny, natural suburban environment. They liked a spacious, clean and bright color with natural material furnishings. Each architectural design expression of 4 themes was suggested.

  • Recently, Townhouse has emerged as a blue ocean of real estate market in Korea. In designing town houses, which are luxurious suburban houses centered around the capital area, the construction companies are using 'designer marketing' in which they hire interior designers and architects and express various styles of design in the interior space of the town houses. Therefore, this study examined the unit-family cases of Korean townhouses and analyzed the expression characteristics of design in the interior space of the town houses built after 2000 in terms of their spatial, morphological, material, and color aspect. "The extensibility of space" and "variableness of space" seem to have the same meaning, but they turned out to be not related to each other due to the particularity of houses. "The extensibility of space" turned out to show its characteristics via "the use of transparent materials." "Minimal form" utilizes the unified "achromatic and simple colors" to emphasize the simplicity and in some cases, highlights the use of original colors. The interior space of the townhouses expresses the traditional or heterosexual oriental image through "the use of natural materials," and they point out the "oriental form" through the controlled beauty expressed by using oriental components and "achromatic and simple colors."

  • Rudolph Michael Schindler(1887-1953) has been known as one of the pioneering modem architects who pursued not merely stylistic expression but a true embodiment for the human life. His furniture design is particularly noteworthy in Schindler's building. He designed numerous furniture designs where it serves as a core principal of his interior design of each building. Nevertheless, despite his architectural accomplishments, his furniture design has less been discussed. This research focuses on investigating the notion and the characteristics of Schindler's furniture designs based on his architectural language. For an in depth study of Schindler's furniture, this study reconstructs the archival material by analyzing drawings and by fabricating scaled models to reveal the characteristics of Schindler's furniture. To do so, it concentrates on two things: On the one hand, the stylistic characteristics that have to do with simple geometry, human proportion, the use of material and visual technique; on the other hand, different furniture types. This article concludes by describing Schindler's furniture design that has grown from his unique design approach and its underlying formal and spatial design principles.

A Study on Surrealistic Expression in Modern Fashion - Focusing on Surrealistic Fashion in 1990s -

  • At the outset, surrealism starts from pure art, but surrealism has greatly influenced commercial art and fashion circles, more so than any other genre of art. The critical thinking methods of surrealism and its mode of expression continues to influence fashion theory extensively. Even now, surrealism may be found in the designs presented in fashion circles and is still expected for future lines. Surrealism in modern fashion has been reborn, newly integrated and transformed, based on the features of Surrealism paintings. The characteristics of its forms can be found in a combination of modern material, modern design and new skills and the classical items : bodyform molding context of architecture, experimental and sex-appealing of body. Expression was made by borrowing natural motives and recreating natural fabrics while the existing typical idea about clothes was destructed, with the boundary of patterns changed. Expression was also made by mixing items, uniting future images, and using up-to-date functional techniques. This study is significant that up-to-date technological culture expands cyber-space and increases surrealistic expressions by combined heterogeneous materials, thus arousing much interest. The purpose of this study is to determine interrelationship between how surrealism developed and what formative properties those clothes affected by surrealism obtained in the 1990s.
