  • Uncertainty is ubiquitous in target tracking wireless sensor networks due to environmental noise, randomness of target mobility and other factors. Sensing results are always unreliable. This paper considers unreliability as it occurs in wireless sensor networks and its impact on target-tracking accuracy. Firstly, we map intersection pairwise sensors' uncertain boundaries, which divides the monitor area into faces. Each face has a unique signature vector. For each target localization, a sampling vector is built after multiple grouping samplings determine whether the RSS (Received Signal Strength) for a pairwise nodes' is ordinal or flipped. A Fault-Tolerant Target-Tracking (FTTT) strategy is proposed, which transforms the tracking problem into a vector matching process that increases the tracking flexibility and accuracy while reducing the influence of in-the-filed factors. In addition, a heuristic matching algorithm is introduced to reduce the computational complexity. The fault tolerance of FTTT is also discussed. An extension of FTTT is then proposed by quantifying the pairwise uncertainty to further enhance robustness. Results show FTTT is more flexible, more robust and more accurate than parallel approaches.

  • Compressive sensing (CS) is a newly developed data acquisition and processing technique that takes advantage of the sparse structure in signals. Normally signals in their primitive space or format are reconstructed from their compressed measurements for further treatments, such as modal analysis for vibration data. This approach causes problems such as leakage, loss of fidelity, etc., and the computation of reconstruction itself is costly as well. Therefore, it is appealing to directly work on the compressed data without prior reconstruction of the original data. In this paper, a direct approach for modal analysis of damped systems is proposed by decomposing the compressed measurements with an appropriate dictionary. The damped free vibration function is adopted to form atoms in the dictionary for the following sparse decomposition. Compared with the normally used Fourier bases, the damped free vibration function spans a space with both the frequency and damping as the control variables. In order to efficiently search the enormous two-dimension dictionary with frequency and damping as variables, a two-step strategy is implemented combined with the Orthogonal Matching Pursuit (OMP) to determine the optimal atom in the dictionary, which greatly reduces the computation of the sparse decomposition. The performance of the proposed method is demonstrated by a numerical and an experimental example, and advantages of the method are revealed by comparison with another such kind method using POD technique.

  • In this paper, we introduce a new sparse signal recovery algorithm referred to as the matching pursuit with greedy tree search (GTMP). The tree search in our proposed method is implemented to minimize the cost function to improve the recovery performance of sparse signals. In addition, a pruning strategy is employed to each node of the tree for efficient implementation. In our performance guarantee analysis, we provide the condition that ensures the exact identification of the nonzero locations. Through empirical simulations, we show that GTMP is effective for sparse signal reconstruction and outperforms conventional sparse recovery algorithms.

  • In this paper, we consider a spectrum access scenario which consists of two groups of users, namely Primary Users (PUs) and Secondary Users (SUs) in Cooperative Cognitive Radio Networks (CCRNs). SUs cooperatively relay PUs messages based on Amplify-and-Forward (AF) and Decode-and-Forward (DF) cooperative techniques, in exchange for accessing some of the spectrum for their secondary communications. From the literatures, we found that the Conventional Distributed Algorithm (CDA) and Pragmatic Distributed Algorithm (PDA) aim to maximize the PU sum-rate resulting in a lower sum-rate for the SU. In this contribution, we have investigated a suit of distributed matching algorithms. More specifically, we investigated SU-based CDA (CDA-SU) and SU-based PDA (PDA-SU) that maximize the SU sum-rate. We have also proposed the All User-based PDA (PDA-ALL), for maximizing the sum-rates of both PU and SU groups. A comparative study of CDA, PDA, CDA-SU, PDA-SU and PDA-ALL is conducted, and the strength of each scheme is highlighted. Different schemes may be suitable for different applications. All schemes are investigated under the idealistic scenario involving perfect coding and perfect modulation, as well as under practical scenario involving actual coding and actual modulation. Explicitly, our practical scenario considers the adaptive coded modulation based DF schemes for transmission flexibility and efficiency. More specifically, we have considered the Self-Concatenated Convolutional Code (SECCC), which exhibits low complexity, since it invokes only a single encoder and a single decoder. Furthermore, puncturing has been employed for enhancing the bandwidth efficiency of SECCC. As another enhancement, physical layer security has been applied to our system by introducing a unique Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) based puncturing to our SECCC scheme.

  • Ontology alignment is the way to share and reuse of ontology knowledge. Because of the ambiguity of concept, most ontology alignment systems combine a set of various measures and complete enumeration to provide the satisfactory result. However, calculating process becomes more complex and required time increases exponentially since the number of concept increases, more errors can appear at the same time. Lately the focus is on meta-matching using the heuristic algorithm. Existing meta-matching system tune extra parameter and it causes complex calculating, as a consequence, the results in the various data of specific domain are not good performed. In this paper, we propose a high performance algorithm by using DCS that can solve ontology alignment through simple process. It provides an efficient search strategy according to distribution of Levy Flight. In order to evaluate the approach, benchmark data from the OAEI 2012 is employed. Through the comparison of the quality of the alignments which uses DCS with state of the art ontology matching systems.

  • Automatic image registration is an essential element of remote sensing because remote sensing system generates enormous amount of data, which are multiple observations of the same features at different times and by different sensor. The general process of automatic image registration includes three steps: 1) The extraction of features to be used in the matching process, 2) the feature matching strategy and accurate matching process, 3) the resampling of the data based on the correspondence computed from matched feature. For step 2) and 3), we have developed an algorithms for automated registration of satellite images with RANSAC(Random Sample Consensus) in success. However, for step 1), There still remains human operation to generate GCP Chips, which is time consuming, laborious and expensive process. The main idea of this research is that we are able to automatically generate GCP chips with comer detection algorithms without GPS survey and human interventions if we have systematic corrected satellite image within adaptable positional accuracy. In this research, we use SUSAN(Smallest Univalue Segment Assimilating Nucleus) algorithm in order to detect the comer. SUSAN algorithm is known as the best robust algorithms for comer detection in the field of compute vision. However, there are so many comers in high-resolution images so that we need to reduce the comer points from SUSAN algorithms to overcome redundancy. In experiment, we automatically generate GCP chips from IKONOS images with geo level using SUSAN algorithms. Then we extract reference coordinate from IKONOS images and DEM data and filter the comer points using texture analysis. At last, we apply automatically collected GCP chips by proposed method and the GCP by operator to in-house automatic precision correction algorithms. The compared result will be presented to show the GCP quality.

  • Recently, Social media has become a concern for businesses, including Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). SMEs began to adopt social media to support their performance. To benefit from the application of social media, SMEs must implement the right strategy. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the use of social media in SMEs. Furthermore, alignment between social media functionalities and strategies and their effect on SME's performance are investigated. A case study is conducted in Gymi, a garment SMEs in East Java, Indonesia. The data collection includes interviews with the owner of SMEs, observations, and document analysis. Data analysis is performed by pattern matching, which matches the patterns from the literature with data from the case study. The results of this study show that cost-effectiveness, interactivity, and compatibility are factors that influence the use of social media in Gymi. The social media used by Gymi are Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp, and LINE. However, the main social media used to support Gymi's functions is Instagram. Gymi has a relatively good social media strategy as it has defined a specific goal, target audience, and channel selection for social media (Instagram). It also has specific resources and policies to handle social media. Gymi monitors and evaluates their social media content activities. These strategies are aligned with the Instagram feature used to support Gymi's function, particularly marketing, sales, customer service, and to some extent, internal operation. The alignment contributes to Gymi's performance measured by the increase in reputation (number of Instagram followers) and sales.

  • This paper proposes an integrative framework for determining a dominant design in the mobile operation systems. A dominant design has emerged as a de facto standard from traditional industries to ICT. ICT-related industries have been reorganized around the mobile industry in which the mobile operation system can be seen as a strategical keystone. In this paper, we develop a holistic approach for the emergence of a dominant design in the mobile operation systems. Firstly, we combined an integrative framework based on previous research findings with new determinants derived from cases of the mobile operation systems. Secondly, we categorized all determinants according to technological, firm-level and environmental factors within our proposed framework. Finally, we compared this framework to patterns coded from cases which include Android and iOS. This results show that a dominant design is likely to emerge as a result of the interaction of the determinants, not the influence of a single determinant. Furthermore, our proposed framework may extend the existing literature on dominant designs in both researchers and practitioners and provide implications to actors for establishing a competition strategy in the mobile telecommunication ecosystems.
