In Korea, the industry and marketing of livestock has grown because of increases in consumers' income and changes in food consumption trends. Livestock production and consumption increased tenfold from 1970 to 2018, and this rise will continue. However, the quality of marketing information for Korean livestock has remained low. The Korea Institute for Animal Products Quality Evaluation (KAPE) operates programs that provide marketing information on livestock, but the social benefits of these programs have not been objectively evaluated. The purpose of this study was to estimate the social benefit of the programs offering marketing information on Korean livestock. Survey and analysis using an economic model (double-bounded dichotomous choice contingent valuation model), revealed a few findings. First, the users of the marketing information programs offered by KAPE recognized the value of these programs and demonstrated their willingness to pay for this marketing information. Second, the social values of the programs offering marketing information on livestock were estimated as 1.1 billion won (marketing information on main livestock) or 5.3 billion won (price information on poultry), and these social values were 2 or 6 times greater than the cost to operate the programs for offering information. Finally, the program that provides marketing information on domestic livestock provides sufficient social benefits, so KAPE should expand these programs.

Customization and personalization services are considered as a critical success factor to be a successful Internet store or web service provider. As a representative personalization technique, personalized recommendation techniques are studied and commercialized to suggest products or services to a customer of Internet storefronts based on demographics of the customer or based on an analysis of the past purchasing behavior of the customer. The underlining theories of recommendation techniques are statistics, data mining, artificial intelligence, and/or rule-based matching. In the rule-based approach for personalized recommendation, marketing rules for personalization are usually collected from marketing experts and are used to inference with customers data. however, it is difficult to extract marketing rules from marketing experts, and also difficult to validate and to maintain the constructed knowledge base. In this paper, we proposed a marketing rule extraction technique for personalized recommendation on Internet storefronts using market basket analysis technique, a well-known data mining technique. Using marketing basket analysis technique, marketing rules for cross sales are extracted, and are used to provide personalized advertisement selection when a customer visits in an Internet store. An experiment has been performed to evaluate the effectiveness of proposed approach comparing with preference scoring approach and random selection.

An IoT service, which is composed of an IoT device and a web service, has recently been applied to the marketing field and is being used as a means to meet customer needs. However, applying appropriate marketing elements to IoT services is not easy. Therefore, analysis tools are needed to properly apply marketing elements to IoT services. This study aims to construct an analysis model for marketing evaluation of IoT services. In this study, the technical elements and marketing elements of IoT were derived through a literature review, and the analysis model for marketing evaluation of IoT services was established by exploring the relationship between the elements based on a service blueprint. We also applied real cases to verify the analytical model. This study is expected to contribute to the development of tools for evaluating IoT services.
