IR LED Marker Detection Method for Production of Multiple Marker based on Augmented Reality (다수 마커의 제작을 위한 증강현실 기반의 IR LED 마커 검출 기법)

  • As computer related technologies are developed, interests in augmented reality technologies are greatly increasing. Augmented reality is a technology that composes digital contents from the real input images through camera and it enables interaction with users. This study designed a directional marker using LED light that emits infrared ray, then, provided a detection algorithm and a marker information extraction method that can realize various virtual objects as augmented reality from one marker. The newly designed method provides a solution to settle the problems in existing marker technologies such as decrease of immersiveness and read rate and single information expression, and at the same time it can minimize the cost or time consumption in marker information storage.

  • In many cases, human's visual recognition depends on contextual information. We need to use effective feature information for performing vigorous place recognition to illumination, noise, etc. In the existing cases that use edge and color, etc., visual recognition doesn't cope effectively with real environment. To solve this problem, using natural marker, we improve the efficiency of place recognition.

Techniques on Multi-Marker for the Implementation of Augmented Reality (증강현실 구현을 위한 Multi-Marker에 관한 기법)

  • This study is intended to propose a technique that can trace objects by utilizing the multimarker method in the Marker Recognition which is a bridge way connecting virtuality and reality in complex environments or in a condition hands become obstacles. In the existing marker method, the object becomes blinking when the maker is blocked since this method relies only on single marker. However, the researcher was able to confirm the appearance of augmented object when the marker was blocked for the multiple markers replaced the blocked one. In order to implement such technique, multi-marker estimation was utilized with perspective matrix. The advantage is the fast estimation process for there is no need of other calculation. The implemented technique can detect markers and locate their positions, represent 3-D object in various circumstances.

  • The existing curriculum of cultural assets compulsory curriculum is difficult to expect educational effect due to lack of interests and visibility. The purpose of this study is to develop application contents and teaching materials using cultural data 3 - D data based on multi - marker recognition technology of augmented reality, which is attracting attention in the era of the 4th industrial revolution. In the case of the contents of a multi-marker technology capable of recognizing a plurality of markers, various events can be added and output capability can be enhanced. The proposed augmented reality app will be applied to the study of various education contents production technology utilizing cultural properties.

  • Interface technologies for a user to control home automation system in wearable computing environment has been studied recently. This paper proposes a new interface method for a disabled person to control home automation system in wearable computing environment by using EOG sensing circuit and marker recognition. In the proposed interface method, the operations of a home network device are represented with human readable markers and displayed around the device. A user wearing a HMD, a video camera, and a computer selects the desired operation by seeing the markers and selecting one of them with eye movement from the HMD display The requested operation is executed by sending the control command for the selected marker to the home network control device. By using the EOG sensing circuit and the marker recognition system a user having problem with moving hands and fit can manipulate a home automation system with only eye movement.

A Study on Marker-based Detection Method of Object Position using Perspective Projection

  • With the mark of the fourth industrial revolution, the smart factory is evolving into a new future manufacturing plant. As a human-machine-interactive tool, augmented reality (AR) helps workers acquire the proficiency needed in smart factories. The valuable data displayed on the AR device must be delivered intuitively to users. Current AR applications used in smart factories lack user movement calibration, and visual fiducial markers for position correction are detected only nearby. This paper demonstrates a marker-based object detection using perspective projection to adjust augmented content while maintaining the user's original perspective with displacement. A new angle, location, and scaling values for the AR content can be calculated by comparing equivalent marker positions in two images. Two experiments were conducted to verify the implementation of the algorithm and its practicality in the smart factory. The markers were well-detected in both experiments, and the applicability in smart factories was verified by presenting appropriate displacement values for AR contents according to various movements.

  • 본 논문에서는 OpenCV의 Marker Detection 기술을 이용하여 특정지점의 마커를 영상처리기술로 인식하여 드론의 자동 이착륙 및 주변 위기상황, 미션수행 등을 마커를 통해서 드론에게 전달하여 비행 제어할 수 있는 체계를 개발한다. 드론은 OpenCV Aruco모듈을 이용하여 Marker ID별로 특정 명령어를 데이터 베이스와 비교하여 비행제어 명령을 수행한다. 지상에서는 마커의 변경을 통해서 실시간으로 미션변경을 할 수 있다. 이를 통해 드론은 제어용 송수신 채널을 통해서 통신을 하고는 있으나, 주파수 채널수가 제한이 되어 있으므로 구체적인 비행 제어 명령을 마커를 통해 이착륙시 추가적이며, 자동적인 진행이 가능하다.

  • Recently, interest and demand of Augmented Reality(AR) contents are increasing as an application field of AR. Generally, when the AR contents are served in the outdoor environment, the position information using the GPS signal is used to control the display of the object on the AR screen, or a marker based on the image of the object is used. However, there is a problem that location information can not be used in an indoor environment. If the service is provided using only the marker, there is a problem that the recognition of the marker due to the moving obstacle in the vicinity is unstable. and there is a problem that information displayed on the AR screen is not displayed in a fixed state at a specific position, it moves according to the movement of the camera. In this paper, we have studied the object control method for displaying the object to be displayed on the AR screen by using iBeacon using indoor location recognition and specific markers.

  • 본 논문에서는 모바일 기반 OpenCV 라이브러리를 이용한 마커리스 객체 인석 성능 향상을 위한 소프트웨어적인 관점의 방법을 제안한다. 기존의 마커리스 기반 알고리즘을 이용하여 테스트를 수행한 후 성능에 저하를 발생시키는 요인들을 분석하고 그에 따른 상황별 적절한 해결책을 제시한다. 이에 따라 크게 프로그램 코드 개선, 마커리스 기반 알고리즘 코드 개선, 센서를 활용한 성능 향상을 도모한다. 프로그램 코드 개선은 테스트 결과를 분석 한 후 수행시간이 가장 많이 소요되는 함수를 최적화하고 또한 최적의 특징점의 수를 제한한다. 마커리스 기반 알고리즘 코드 개선은 병렬 처리가 제공되는 모바일에 한하여 병렬처리기법으로 코드를 수정한다. 마지막 센서를 활용한 성능향상은 실시간 작업 처리 단위를 묶음으로 처리하였을 때 발생하는 품질의 저하를 보정하는 역할을 수행한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 마커리스 객체 인식 성능 향상 방법을 소프트웨어적인 관점에서 제안하고 이에 대한 결과 모바일 기반 실시간 증강현실 서비스를 위한 성능 향상 면에서 효과적이다.

The Bullet Launcher with A Pneumatic System to Detect Objects by Unique Markers

  • A bullet launcher can be developed as a smart instrument, especially for use in the military section, that can track, identify, detect, mark, lock, and shoot a target by implementing an image-processing system. In this research, the application of object recognition system, laser encoding as a unique marker, 2-dimensional movement, and pneumatic as a shooter has been studied intensively. The results showed that object recognition system could detect various colors, patterns, sizes, and laser blinking. Measuring the average error value of the object distance by using the camera is ±4, ±5, and ±6% for circle, square and triangle form respectively. Meanwhile, the average accuracy of shots on objects is 95.24% and 85.71% in indoor and outdoor conditions respectively. Here, the average prototype response time is 1.11 s. Moreover, the highest accuracy rate of shooting results at 50 cm was obtained 98.32%.
