  • This paper proposes a photorealistic real-time dense 3D mapping system that utilizes a neural network-based image enhancement method and mesh-based map representation. Due to the characteristics of the underwater environment, where problems such as hazing and low contrast occur, it is hard to apply conventional simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) methods. At the same time, the behavior of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) is computationally constrained. In this paper, we utilize a neural network-based image enhancement method to improve pose estimation and mapping quality and apply a sliding window-based mesh expansion method to enable lightweight, fast, and photorealistic mapping. To validate our results, we utilize real-world and indoor synthetic datasets. We performed qualitative validation with the real-world dataset and quantitative validation by modeling images from the indoor synthetic dataset as underwater scenes.

  • An efficient texture compression method is proposed based on a block matching process between the current block and the previously encoded blocks. Texture mapping is widely used to improve the quality of rendering results in real-time applications. For fast texture mapping, it is important to find an optimal trade-off between compression efficiency and computational complexity. Low-complexity methods (e.g., ETC1 and DXT1) have often been adopted in real-time rendering applications because conventional compression methods (e.g., JPEG) achieve a high compression ratio at the cost of high complexity. We propose a block matching-based compression method that can achieve a higher compression ratio than ETC1 and DXT1 while maintaining computational complexity lower than that of JPEG. Through a comparison between the proposed method and existing compression methods, we confirm our expectations on the performance of the proposed method.

  • Purpose: This study was to evaluate the strengthening process of advanced beginner's nursing competence through the concept mapping methods. Methods: This study was conducted with focus group study for 1 month from November to December 2012 (n=5). Data were analyzed through open coding, axial coding and selection coding stage. Results: Advanced beginner to represent the experience of nursing empowerment and the three categories of the nine concepts were derived. The first category is 'able to see the entire search.' This concept is to start a search query, the search process of thinking, behavior change is expected. The second category is 'behavior change through the acquisition of knowledge.', and this concept is the embodiment of knowledge, confidence rising, and action changing. The third category is 'nursing empowerment', the aesthetic, ethical, and personal knowledge acquisition, as well as self-growth. Conclusion: Advanced beginner saw the full flow through the concept mapping and obtained knowledge, and changed behavior. Thus, the concept mapping is effective to strengthen the nursing competence.

  • As various methodologies for business process analysis and design have been conducted in many organizations by their own ways, those methodologies are not compatible each other. In order to reduce the cost of analysis for organizations. some mapping methods between different methodologies need to be developed. UMM(UN/CEFACT Modeling Methodology) that has an object-oriented point of view. can overcome the limits of existing bottom-up approaches and make it reasonable. It also simplifies the business and administrative procedures. IDEF( Integrated Definition Language) with a structural point of view that has been widely used as a system analysis and design method, needs to be mapped to UMM in order to reuse the existing IDEF models. In this study, we propose a guideline that deals with procedures of utilizing IDEF models from which we want to derive the UMM models for developing an electronic commerce system including electronic documents exchange. By comparing IDEF and UMM, we analyze the differences between those two methodologies. Based on these differences. we suggest the basic strategies for mapping method from IDEF to UMM. We also propose a mapping guideline that can make UMM results from the modeling results of IDEF. We can take an advantage of the existing IDEF analysis design results when we adopt UMM methodology for electronic business system. Many analysts who are familiar with the IDEF methodology can develop UMM work-flow by utilizing their existing results and skills.

  • Let E be a reflexive Banach space with a weakly sequentially continuous duality mapping, C be a nonempty closed convex subset of E, f : C $\rightarrow$C a contractive mapping (or a weakly contractive mapping), and T : C $\rightarrow$ C a nonexpansive mapping with the fixed point set F(T) ${\neq}{\emptyset}$. Let {$x_n$} be generated by a new composite iterative scheme: $y_n={\lambda}_nf(x_n)+(1-{\lambda}_n)Tx_n$, $x_{n+1}=(1-{\beta}_n)y_n+{\beta}_nTy_n$, ($n{\geq}0$). It is proved that {$x_n$} converges strongly to a point in F(T), which is a solution of certain variational inequality provided the sequence {$\lambda_n$} $\subset$ (0, 1) satisfies $lim_{n{\rightarrow}{\infty}}{\lambda}_n$ = 0 and $\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}{\lambda}_n={\infty}$, {$\beta_n$} $\subset$ [0, a) for some 0 < a < 1 and the sequence {$x_n$} is asymptotically regular.

  • Considerable research in the field of ontology mapping has been done when information sharing and reuse becomes necessary by a variety of ontology development. Ontology mapping method consists of the lexical, structural, instance, and logical inference similarity computing. Lexical similarity computing used in most ontology mapping methods performs an ontology mapping by using the synonym set defined in the WordNet. In this paper, we define the Super Word Set including the hypenym, hyponym, holonym, and meronym set and propose an ontology mapping method using the Super Word Set. The results of experiments show that our method improves the performance by up to 12%, compared with previous ontology mapping method.

  • In this paper, a composite iterative process is introduced for a generalized equilibrium problem and a pair of nonexpansive mappings. It is proved that the sequence generated in the purposed composite iterative process converges strongly to a common element of the solution set of a generalized equilibrium problem and of the common xed point of a pair of nonexpansive mappings.

  • In this paper we proposed the design space exploration environment of re-configurable hybrid systems and evaluate the performance by changing design parameters. With this, we analyzed the effect of various scheduling methods which determine how we allocate hardware/software resources to application program. A simple static (fixed) mapping strategy produces almost the same performance compared with a sophisticated dynamic mapping strategy especially when a CPU is already busy with its pre-assigned own tasks.

  • This paper presents the design of a technology mapping system for optimizing delays of combinational and synchronous sequential logic circuits. The proposed system performs delay optimization for combinational logic circuits by remapping, buffering, and gate merging methods through the correct delay calculation in which the loading values are considered. To get time optimized synchronous sequential circuits, heuristic algorithms are proposed. The proposed algorithms reallocate registers by considering the critical path characteristics. Experimental results show that the proposed system produces a more optimized technology mapping for MCNC benchmarks compared with mis-II.
