The amount and diversity of tobacco pathology research in Korea depend on the change of tobacco cultivation area. Also, the tobacco pathology research was highly influenced by the scientific development of general plant pathology during the period from 1970's to 1990's. Since 1990, the rapid decrease of the tobacco cultivation area resulted in significant decrease of the research manpower. Thus, I dare to foretell few novel studies on tobacco pathology in near future. This review summarizes a research history of tobacco pathology, at which it was once flourished in Korea.

This paper presents FMC prototypes developed to propagate manufacuting automation for small and medium sized enterprises in Korea. The system consists of two cells used to machine oil pump drive gears, turing cell and hobbing cell. Characteristics and processes of the fears are anaylzed for the cell design. The system configuration and functions of individual component machines are described. Furthermore, the developed system is compared with the current manual system in terms of manpower and cost reduction and productivity increase.

Tabu search (TS) has been successfully applied for solving many complex combinatorial optimization problems in the areas of operations research and production control. However, TS is for single-objective problems in its present form. In this article, a TS-based heuristic is developed to determine Pareto-efficient solutions to a multi-objective combinatorial optimization problem. The developed algorithm is then applied to the discrete optimal design problem in statistics to demonstrate its usefulness.

In 1984, Oshiro [11] has studied the decomposition of continuous lifting modules. He obtained the following: every continuous lifting module has an indecomposable decomposition. In this paper, we study extending lifting modules. We show that every extending lifting module has an indecomposable decomposition. This result is an expansion of Oshiro's result mentioned above. And we consider some application of this result.

This paper presents the policies Korea adopted to educate and train scientists/researchers and technicians/skilled workers. The Korean policies for the increase of human resources in science and technology that stimulated an upgrading of skills in industry and adapted to technical advancements are identified. An important factor is that the supply and demand mechanism created a virtuous circle so that the science and technology education and training policies were responsive to economic demands. In addition, policies to foster a human resource capacity have enhanced the contribution of human resources in science and technology for innovation and economic growth.

Increase in use of deck plates is accelerated by a manpower shortage and the high cost of construction. Some of problems including fire resistance, waterproof, and low corrosion can be solved by development of new deck plates. This paper evaluates the structural performance of the LAMO Deck which metal laths instead of galvanized steel sheet is covered by mortar.

Social attention to information security field is inspired, and manpower demand forecast of this area is getting high. This study surveyed information security knowledge of practitioners who work in a field of information security such as computer and network system. We analyzed a connection between survey data, information protection job system that was suggested by NICE, IT skills that NCS and KISA classified and security field classification system. Base on data that analyzed, this study suggests a curriculum that trains professional manpower who perform duties in the field of information security. Suggested curriculum can be applied to 2 year college, 3 year college and 4 year college. Suggested curriculum provides courses that students who want to work in a field of information security must learn during the college. Suggested courses are closely connected to a related field and detailed guideline is indicated to each course to educate. Suggested curriculum is required, and it combines a theoretical education that become basis and a practical education so that it is not weighted to learn theory and is not only focusing on learning simple commands. This curriculum is established to educate students countermeasures of hacking and security defend that based on scenario that connected to executive ability. This curriculum helps to achieve certificates related to a field more than paper qualification. Also, we expect this curriculum helps to train convergent information security manpower for next generation.

The central focus of this research paper is to explore the recent structural core empirical unemployment reason of IT new professional manpower who graduated in higher education level in Korea. The final goal of this issue is to estimate and analyze rambling impediment in IT manpower labor market between 26 detail occupations and between detail occupations and 3 educational levels of new graduates and entrants who entered in IT 6 occupational groups composing 26 particular occupations. This study uses the 2004 data published by the Ministry of ICT and relies upon both one-way analysis of variance and two-way analysis variance to tackle the issue. According to the ANOVA results, 2 main points were delineated In the one-way analysis of variance method. the total sum of squares (SST) is decomposed into two major components: within sum of squares (SSW) (6 detail occupations, 85%) and between sum of squares (SSG) (26 detail occupation, 15%) The other major finding is that total sum of squares (SST) is decomposed into three major components: between detail occupations (SSG) (19.3%), between educations (SSB) and errors (SSE) (56%) in IT SIW development design group.

Modern society is developing rapidly and technologies that provide convenience in living are developing day by day. On the other hand, the development of cyber attacks that threaten cybersecurity is developing faster, and it still adversely affects the industrial environment, and industrial damage is steadily occurring every year. Industrial security is an activity that safely protects major assets or technologies of companies and organizations from these attacks. Therefore, it is a situation that requires professional manpower for security. Currently, the manpower situation for security is staffed, but knowledge of the understanding and concept of industrial security jobs is insufficient. In other words, there is a lack of professional manpower for industrial security. It is the NCS that came out to solve this problem. NCS is the state standardized ability (knowledge, attitude, skills, etc.) necessary to perform duties in the industrial field. NCS can systematically design the curriculum using NCS as well as help in hiring personnel, and NCS can be applied to the national qualification system. However, in the field of industrial security, NCS has not yet been developed and is still having difficulties in hiring personnel and curriculum. Although the NCS system in the field of industrial security has not been developed, this paper proposes the industrial security NCS to solve the problem of hiring professionals later and to help the field of industrial security NCS to be established later.

With the advent of local autonomy in the 1990s, the polemic issue of decentralizing the central government power will undoubtedly come to the fore. The purpose of this study is to reconsider the government functions both at the central and local levels, paritcularly in the fields of urban planning administration. Those policy guidelines administration. Those policy guidelines employed such delegations include : 1) leaving detailed land use regulations to the discretion of local governments; 2) increasing role of local administrations and people regarding development projects; 3) promotion of urban developers as well as public and private partnership; 4) simplifying the procedure related to development applications. In this context, the role of the central government should be redefined; macro-scale policymaking to cope with on-going globalization trends; area-wide coordination among various local bodies ; providing planning standards and information; straining manpower and operation of urban development funds and subsidies.
