  • Strong convergence theorems on viscosity approximation methods for finite nonexpansive mappings are established in Banach spaces. The main theorem generalize the corresponding result of Kim and Xu [10] to the viscosity approximation method for finite nonexpansive mappings in a reflexive Banach space having a uniformly Gateaux differentiable norm. Our results also improve the corresponding results of [7, 8, 19, 20].

  • In this paper, we consider the convergence of the shrinking projection method for quasi-$\phi$-nonexpansive mappings. Strong convergence theorems are established in a uniformly smooth and strictly convex Banach space which enjoys the Kadec-Klee property.

  • Let X be a real normed linear space. Let T : D(T) ⊂ X \longrightarrow X be a uniformly continuous and ∮-strongly quasi-accretive mapping. Let {${\alpha}$n}{{{{ { }`_{n=0 } ^{$\infty$ } }}}} , {${\beta}$n}{{{{ { }`_{n=0 } ^{$\infty$ } }}}} be two real sequences in [0, 1] satisfying the following conditions: (ⅰ) ${\alpha}$n \longrightarrow0, ${\beta}$n \longrightarrow0, as n \longrightarrow$\infty$ (ⅱ) {{{{ SUM from { { n}=0} to inf }}}} ${\alpha}$=$\infty$. Set Sx=x-Tx for all x $\in$D(T). Assume that {u}{{{{ { }`_{n=0 } ^{$\infty$ } }}}} and {v}{{{{ { }`_{n=0 } ^{$\infty$ } }}}} are two sequences in D(T) satisfying {{{{ SUM from { { n}=0} to inf }}}}∥un∥<$\infty$ and vn\longrightarrow0 as n\longrightarrow$\infty$. Several related results deal with iterative approximations of fixed points of ∮-hemicontractions by the ishikawa iteration with errors in a normed linear space. Certain conditions on the iterative parameters {${\alpha}$n}{{{{ { }`_{n=0 } ^{$\infty$ } }}}} , {${\beta}$n}{{{{ { }`_{n=0 } ^{$\infty$ } }}}} and t are also given which guarantee the strong convergence of the iteration processes.

  • Let K be a nonempty closed convex subset of a Banach space E. Suppose $\{T_{n}\}$ (n = 1,2,...) is a uniformly asymptotically regular sequence of nonexpansive mappings from K to K such that ${\cap}_{n=1}^{\infty}$ F$\(T_n){\neq}{\phi}$. For $x_0{\in}K$, define $x_{n+1}={\lambda}_{n+1}x_{n}+(1-{\lambda}_{n+1})T_{n+1}x_{n},n{\geq}0$. If ${\lambda}_n{\subset}[0,1]$ satisfies $lim_{n{\rightarrow}{\infty}}{\lambda}_n=0$, we proved that $\{x_n\}$ weakly converges to some $z{\in}F\;as\;n{\rightarrow}{\infty}$ in the framework of reflexive Banach space E which satisfies the Opial's condition or has $Fr{\acute{e}}chet$ differentiable norm or its dual $E^*$ has the Kadec-Klee property. We also obtain that $\{x_n\}$ strongly converges to some $z{\in}F$ in Banach space E if K is a compact subset of E or there exists one map $T{\in}\{T_{n};n=1,2,...\}$ satisfy some compact conditions such as T is semi compact or satisfy Condition A or $lim_{n{\rightarrow}{\infty}}d(x_{n},F(T))=0$ and so on.

  • The purpose of this paper is to prove a weak convergence theorem for a common fixed points of finite family of nonspreading mappings and nonexpansive mappings in Hilbert spaces. The results presented in this paper extend and improve the results of Mondafi [A. Moudafi, Krasnoselski-Mann iteration for hierarchical fixed-point problems, Inverse Problems 23 (2007) 1635-1640], and Iemoto and Takahashi [So Iemoto, W.Takahashi, Approximating common fixed points of nonexpansive mappings and nonspreading mappings in a Hilbert space, Nonlinear Analysis (2009), doi:10.1016/j.na.2009.03.064].

  • In the present paper, we first give some examples of self-mappings which are asymptoticaly nonexpansive in the intermediate, not strictly hemicontractive, but satisfy the property (H). It is then shown that the modified Mann and Ishikawa iteration processes defined by $x_{n+1}=(1-\alpha_n)x_n+\alpha_nT^nx_n\ and\ x_{n+1}=(1-\alpha_n)x_n+\alpha_nT^n[(1-\beta_n)x_n+\beta_nT^nx_n]$,respectively, converges strongly to the unique fixed point of such a self-mapping in general Banach spaces.

  • In this paper, we prove two strong convergence theorems for asymptotically nonexpansive mappings in Hibert spaces by hybrid methods. Our results extend and improve the recent ones announced by Nakajo, Takahashi [K. Nakajo, W. Takahashi, Strong convergence theorems for nonexpansive mappings and nonexpansive semigroups, J. Math.   • This paper deals with the new iterative algorithm for approximating the fixed point of generalized 𝛼-nonexpansive mappings in a hyperbolic space. We show that the proposed iterative algorithm is faster than all of Picard, Mann, Ishikawa, Noor, Agarwal, Abbas, Thakur and Piri iteration processes for contractive mappings in a Banach space. We also establish some weak and strong convergence theorems for generalized 𝛼-nonexpansive mappings in hyperbolic space. The examples and numerical results are provided in this paper for supporting our main results.
