This paper investigates to identify an optimal for analysis of battery behavior in system-level applications such as Battery Energy Storage Systems in Smart Grid infrastructures and Electrical vehicles. At system level applications, it is mandatory to check model for meaningful equivalency and practical ability for extension from unit cell to Battery stack. The investigation of current battery models in relation to their suitability for study and analysis of system level applications of battery helpful for identification of optimal model and it also provides an intuition and direction to develop the most suitable model, if such models are not available already.

This research, by analyzing the current first aid education status in K district, Seoul and comparing first aid education systems in other developed countries, introduces the need of first aid/Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation(CPR) education with Automated External Defibrillator(AED) usage to high school students, who are on the verge of becoming adults. The thorough research shows that schoolsshould be appointed as mandatory facilities for AEDs by laws and execute first aid education to their students. Only through organized and consistent first aid education would the students develop into true volunteers who not only have altruistic minds, but the ability to fluently adapt to medical emergency and properly use AED. In addition, the research also outlines various laws that could be legislated such as having to master the basic degrees of first aid education before getting driver's license and graduating high school so that more people become aware of first aid.

Based on the standards that limit the harmonic pollution of electronic systems, the use of PFC converters is mandatory. In this paper, a new resonant bridgeless PFC converter is introduced. By eliminating the input bridge diodes, the efficiency is improved. Moreover, soft switching conditions for all of the semiconductor elements are achieved without adding any extra switches. As a result, high efficiency is attained. The proposed converter is analyzed and the theoretical and simulation results of the proposed converter are presented. In order to verify the validity of the analysis, a 40 w prototype converter is implemented and experimental results are presented. The experimental results show that high efficiency is attained while achieving a high power factor.

Vessel PMS (Planned Maintenance System) is a paper and/or software based system to monitor vessel engine equipment including main propulsion, steering, auxiliary machinery and cargo handling information. This is one of mandatory survey for vessel introduced by IMO (International Maritime Organization). The planned maintenance as well as documentation must be performed according to a system to be approved by classification agencies. Recently, vessel owners have preferred software based systems to collect and preserve accurate data. However, not ship specific and not taking into account the user are said by end users as operational difficulties. To relieve these concerns, this research analyzes vessel PMS data, suggests a middleware to support automatic collection and design consideration of user interface.

Risk-based railway safety management has been mandatory in Korea as by relevant laws and regulations enacted since the Railway Safety Act 2004. In particular, the Railway Vehicle Safety Guidance came into effect on Jan 1, 2008 specifies the details of methodology for hazard analysis, risk assessment and safety verification and validation. Fundamentals for success of the risk-based safety management are systematic hazard identification and risk assessment by use of reasonable risk assessment criteria, but the principle of risk-based safety management has not been applied in an effective way to introduction and maintenance of railway vehicle systems because definite risk assessment criteria have not been set down for each railway system or railway network. The purpose of this study is to suggest a risk matrix development principle for risk assessment of domestic urban metro vehicles by analyses of relevant rules and railway operating environment of Korea.

This paper investigates the mandatory minimum requirements for certification of officers in charge of a navigational watch on ship specified in the international convention of STCW. The training education and evaluation systems for navigational competence of Korean navy were compared and analyzed. The paper suggests adjustment of the evaluation range, increment of evaluation items, diversification of evaluation types, differentiation of certification-related education by officer's commissioning program in order to improve the PQS system.

With the development of Information Communication Technique, electronic commerce using PKIs is widely used over the Internet. The goal of access control is to counter the threat of unauthorized operations involving Web-server or data base systems. The RBAC(Role-Based Access Control) has recently received considerable attention as a promising alternative to traditional discretionary and mandatory access controls. In this paper we propose two methods, the RBAC system using attribute certificates and the RBAC system using SPKI certificates. And we analyze and compare the two methods.

For the adaption of roll-to-roll printing method to the printed electronics, it is mandatory to increase the resolution of register errors. Therefore it is desired to derive the mathematical modeling of register error or to develop controller design. The cross direction register error was derived considering both lateral motion of moving web and transverse position of printing roll. The mathematical modeling was validated and the relationship between the lateral motion and register error was analyzed by numerical simulations in various operating conditions using multi-layer direct gravure printing machine. The results could be used for a design of the CD register in the multi-layer printing and the lateral motion caused by translation.

It has become mandatory to designs by BIM in construction. It is urgent to make accurate decisions through the linkage between complex and various types of data in projects. In particular, block-chain based data sharing process (using BIM files, general construction submitted files) is essential to support reliable decision making in complex data flood systems. Prior to developing data sharing system based on block-chain, in this paper, a data linkage method is proposed so that practitioners can simultaneously utilize existing construction information and BIM data. Examples are shown based on the construction classification system and file expression, and incentive strategies are explored through a survey so that heterogeneous information can be used at the same time in overall projects.
