  • Recently, the importance of geoCRM (geographic Customer Relationship Management) systems are growing rapidly. So, result of the recognition that their applications extend well beyond the traditional CRM systems with the advent of ubiquitous environment and generalized location based services. A majority of traditional CRM systems are either incapable of managing spatial data or are not user-friendly when doing so. On the other hand, the geoCRM systems can be built as providing the geographic-based functions about CRM, including spatial and market analyses and the visualization of customer data, etc. However, it lacks the specific model and implementation of the geoCRM systems, being caused by the incomprehension of needs, the absence of related standards and the difficulties of development, and so on. In this paper, we develop a new spatial analysis supporting system that to enhance productivity through the convenient use and management of spatial data. The functionality provided by our system includes a set of analysis functions based on data mining techniques which allow a user to affect powerful transformation on spatial data. Particularly, both spatial data and non-spatial attributes can be efficiently handled as an object through our OODBMS.

  • Companies have developed local database without purpose of cooperation with others in the same category. That's because the cooperative work would cause cost in standardization, management, and usage of overlapping data. Therefore this paper proposes a system supporting an dynamic user interface for the sake of convenience of meta-data transformation and its users. The cooperative system will be able to connect companies together and minimize overlapping data by standardizing them. Eventually, the system will have an effect on cost-cutting and improve efficiency of maintenance and management.

  • The emergence of the Internet shopping agent enabled consumers to enjoy Internet shopping more easily and quickly. Especially, the role of Internet shopping agent is becoming more important following the information overload trend on the Internet in that the consumers can promptly obtain information about a certain product and its price among countless items on the Internet. As a result, consumers can now enjoy shopping more easily, compared to the offline shopping which requires a lot of efforts in comparing the products and purchasing them. Since the Internet shopping agents collect extensive information about the products' price, delivery period, detailed characteristics, etc., and present a comparison table containing the information to the consumers, the consumers can shop more quickly at lower price using such shopping agents. However, it has not been sufficiently studied about how the various functions of shopping agents actually support consumers' purchase decision making procedure in everyday life, and if they do, in which stages they play a supporting role in consumers' purchase decision making system. Therefore, this study conducts an empirical analysis on the role of the Internet shopping agents in the purchase decision making process of the consumers, considering the Internet shopping agent as a decision making supporting system. Moreover, it analyzes how the effects of the Internet shopping agent differs according to the consumers' knowledge level about the products.

  • An integrated water environment management system is necessary in improving water quality, properly allocating water resources, and supporting socio-economic development. Specifically, water quality management system using web map can be an efficient approach to accomplish this system. This paper aims to construct a dynamic water quality management system to reflect a water environment management system which includes three sub-models with consideration of their interrelationships (a socio-economic model based on dynamic Input-Output model, a water resources cycle model, and a water pollutants flow model). Based on simulation, the model can precisely estimate trends of water utilization, water quality, and economic development under certain management targets, and propose an optimal plan. This study utilized the model to analyze the potential of using reclaimed water to accomplish local water environment management and sustainable development plan while exploring the applicable approaches. This study indicates that the constructed water environment management system can be effective and easily adopted to assess water resources and environment while improving the trade-off between economic and environment development, as well as formulate regional development plan.

  • Uiryung Watershed area, located at the confluence of Nam River and Nagdong River has 9000 ha of agricultural land area and 3024 ha of paddy rice field have been reclaimed and managed by Korean Agricultural and Rural Infrastructure Corporation(KARICO) in the riparian area since 1954. In spite of irrigation and drainage improvement projects in last 3 decades since 1970, there are severe drought and innundation problems in the area. To improve the difficulties and efficient usage of irrigation water not only for agriculture but also for environmental conservation and cultural ceremony, Automatic Water management system has been installed supported by Ministry of Agriculture and Fishery in Korean Government. The control office in Uiryung Branch Office of KARICO, receive all the water management records from Remote Terminal Units in 7 reservoirs and 26 Pump stations to operate the decision supporting system of irrigation and drainage facility during cropping period. Since the completion of the water management system at the end of 2003, the electric cost decrease in 80 % than average years. In spite of decrease of two technical assistants since 2004, complains from farmers for the water management are very rare. The technological experience from the automatic water management system would contribute not only for the efficient water management of Uiryang area but also for the modernization of water management of other watershed areas in the future.

  • The National Health Promotion Fund has grown as the increase of tax on tobacco consumption, but more than half of the fund was spent on health insurance supporting. It is important to use the fund appropriately to keep legitimacy and sustainability of health promotion. Therefore, services regarding health promotion should be a priority in spending health promotion fund, and operation system should be established to manage and administer the fund properly.

  • The accident rate in the South Korean construction industry has increased by 50% over the past ten years, reaching seven times the average growth rate of the entire industry. However, the number of management personnel at construction sites is decreasing, making it increasingly difficult to establish a safety monitoring system through professional personnel. This study aims to develop an intelligent control system to address the problem of insufficient management personnel and support the establishment of a continuous safety monitoring system. This system consists of a mobile information collection robot (S-BOT) and an intelligent algorithm. The visual information collected by S-BOT can be analyzed in real-time using computer vision-based intelligent algorithms to detect unsafe situations. The results of this study will contribute to preventing unnecessary social and economic losses by maximizing safety management efficiency and supporting timely decision-making through the sharing of information provided by the intelligent control system.

  • Mobile facility management system is a on-site management tool to collect and update various facility data. But there is a chance to make a data inconsistency between lot of concurrent workers. And facility management system requires to keep records about work log within a certain period of time. This paper describes the design and implementation of mobile facility management system, which provide efficient data synchronization mechanism using version managent technique on large facility data in concurrent work environment. And proposed system is able to keep workers update log persistently.

  • Virtual Manufacturing is a technology facilitating effective development and agile production of products via computer models representing physical and logical schema and the behavior of the real manufacturing systems including manufacturing resources, environments and products. For the successful application of this technology, a virtual factory as a well-designed and integrated environment is essential. To construct a virtual factory in effective and concurrent manners, a supporting information infrastructure for managing diverse models of virtual factory is very important. In this paper, we constructed the web-based information management system for many engineering activities related with a virtual factory. Using this system, users can handle all information and diverse digital files including attributes, parameters, 3-D CAD files, simulation models, and etc. of a cell, line and whole factory. We expect that this information management system for a virtual factory helps us achieve great time savings and advances in accuracy for construction and maintenance activities of virtual factories.
