  • A research model was developed to examine the relationships between the anticipated benefit factors of Internet shopping malls selling physical products and their competitive strategies when the shopping malls are located in their supply chain clusters. A survey questionnaire was implemented and 99 usable responses were obtained from the internet shopping malls located in major industrial clusters in Korea. The six major benefit factors were found: sharing information with offline suppliers, obtaining customers, improvement of trust, efficiency of operation processes, value-added service, management of suppliers. The six empirically derived benefit factors were then used to examine how they affect the firms' competitive strategies and strategic alliance/merger. The regression results shows that the benefit factors influence on firms' choosing one or some combination of the competitive strategies and strategic alliance to survive and succeed in the market.

The data was obtained from internet fashion consumers, and 394 responses were used in the data analysis. The statistical analysis methods were frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and regression analysis. As results, the uncertainty of internet fashion consumers was composed of two factors; information uncertainty and preference uncertainty. The regret experience was composed of function or service regret, suitability regret, and product regret. Also, the negative behavior intention was composed of purchase switching intention and purchase deferral intention. The information uncertainty of fashion consumers positively affected the negative behavior intention in all types of internet shopping malls (e.g., open market, integrated shopping mall, and fashion specialized shopping mall). In open market, the preference uncertainty negatively affected the purchase switching intention; however, the preference uncertainty positively affected the purchase deferral intention. In open market and fashion specialized shopping mall, the product regret of internet fashion consumers positively affected the negative behavior intention. In addition, there were partially significant differences in the factors of uncertainty, regret experience, and negative behavior intention by gender and marital status of demographic characteristics. The results of this study will provide useful information to the marketing strategies considering fashion consumer's negative emotion and behaviors according to the types of internet shopping malls.

  • The scale of e-procurement through online shopping malls of public institutions including government comprehensive shopping malls is increasing day by day. This study aims to examine how public officials evaluate products, delivery, and post service of online shopping malls for public institutions and to explore ways of improving their satisfaction. The results from a survey conducted among public officials of public institutions who have experience using online shopping malls of public institutions showed generally high satisfaction levels, although there was dissatisfaction with product diversity. Perception of delivery quality was generally positive, but there was room for improvement in delivery service. Furthermore, employing structural equation modeling, the study examined the influences on satisfaction and intention to reuse. Perceived product quality, delivery quality, and delivery service quality were confirmed to influence satisfaction considerably. Therefore, more efforts should be directed towards managing the information and quality of products to prevent returns, exchanges, and repairs and, in case of issues, handling them promptly and transparently.

  • To be successful in increasingly competitive Internet marketplace, it is essential to capture customer loyalty. This paper deals with an intelligent agent approach to incorporate customer's sensibility into an one-to-one recommendation service in on-line shopping mall. In this paper the focus of interest is on-line recommendation service algorithm for development of Human Sensibility based web agent system. The recommendation agent system composed of seven services including specialized algorithm. The on-line recommendation service algorithm use human sensibility ergonomics and on-line preference matching technologies to tailor to the customer the suggestion of goods and the description of store catalog. Customizing the system's behavior requires the parallel execution of several tasks during the interaction (e.g., identifying the customer's emotional preference and dynamically generating the pages of the store catalog). Most of the present shopping malls go through the catalog of goods, but the future shopping malls will have the form of intelligent shopping malls by applying the on-line recommendation service algorithm.
