The purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness of a parental education program developed to 295 single university students based on pre-test and the post test on the program. The data is interpreted using statistical methods such as the Percentage, T -Test, Anova test, and the Turkey test. The major results were as follows : First, significant difference regarding the knowledge on parenthood existed among students before and after the tests, with the post-test students showing more knowledge on the matter. Among the six sub-categories of parenthood education program, the effects of the post-testing were most visible in pregnancy, delivering, pre-natal and infant development, parents attitude, and sex education for their children in the form of increased awareness and knowledge. However, no significant effects were detected in pre-natal education. In terms of socio-demographic variable, effects were more visible in female students than in male students. Second, the program also resulted in positive effects in both male and female students.
This study was performed in order to investigate to dietary behavior, perceived stress level and their correlations for University students. Dietry behavior of 72% subjects was poor and only 1.8% was good. The dietary behavior of subjects was correlated with their residence type. The overage stress point was $1.76{\pm}0.53$ and female students was more stressed than male. The purpose of this study was to identify the preferable learning strategies in science learning and to find out the relationship between these strategies and scientific achievement of students in the secondary school. The learning strategies were tested with two categories, self-focused and work-focused learning. The four types of learning strategies in science learning were analyzed, and they were named to organization, monitoring, elaboration and memorization strategies, which were defined by GSSS test. In the self-focused learning, the organization and monitoring strategies were preferred to the elaboration and memorization strategies. Middle school students had a preference for memorization strategy (p=0.000), whereas high school students had a preference for monitoring strategy (p=0.015). In the case of organization strategy, female groups were preferable to male groups (p=0.027). In the second form of learning types, work-focused learning, the memorization strategy was the same preference as organization and monitoring strategies in the secondary school students, especially the male groups of high school students. The preference of elaboration strategy was relative lower compared with that of self-focused learning type. Middle school students had a preference for monitoring strategy (p=0.001), whereas high school students had a preference for elaboration strategy (p=0.001). The difference of each preference between male and female groups was not shown. From the analysis of correlation between learning strategy and scientific achievement, it showed that the monitoring strategy was commonly correlated with scientific achievement. In the self-focused learning, elaboration and organization strategies were correlated with scientific achievement in high school students (p<0.05). In the work-focused learning, memorization strategy was correlated with scientific achievement in middle school students, especially in male groups (p<0.05).

This research was conducted with the aim to appraise the level of satisfaction of students and faculty members with the services of the Deanship of e-Learning and Distance Education at Umm Al-Qura University. In addition, it investigated any differences arising between the evaluation of students and faculty members for these services owing to their gender..To achieve these goals, a descriptive analysis methodology was used in this research. The sample comprised 1357 students (704 male and 653 female) and 372 faculty members (208 male and 164 female) from Umm Al-Qura University in the academic year 2020-2021. To collect the requisite data, the study participants were asked to complete a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire, and the validity and reliability of the data were then assessed. The findings revealed the existence of a high level of satisfaction of students and faculty members with the services of Deanship of e-Learning and Distance Education at Umm Al-Qura University. There are no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of students (male/female) at Umm Al-Qura University in evaluating the said services. Furthermore, there are no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of faculty members (male/female) at Umm Al-Qura University in evaluating these. There exist statistically significant differences between the mean scores of faculty members and students in the evaluation of the services of the Deanship for the benefit of faculty members.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the stress perception, dietary habits, lifestyle and snack intake behaviors of students to help dietary education of high school students in Jeonnam area. The data were collected from high school students in Jeonnam area and 503 questionnaires were used for analysis. The main results of this study are as follows. First, the mean scores of high school students' perception of stress were 2.92 points for male students and 3.07 points for female students, and female students were statistically significantly higher than male students(p<.01). Stress perceptions showed significant differences in school stress(p<.001) and family stress(p<.05) according to gender, and female students gained more stressed than male students. Second, the dietary habits and lifestyle characteristics of high school students by gender showed significant difference between male students and female students at the one meal time(p<.001), the amount of meal(p<.05), the tendency of eating habits(p<.001), the salty taste of food(p<.05), the exercise frequency per week(p<.001) and the exercise time per day(p<.001), respectively. One meal time was shorter for male students than for female students, and the amount of meals was more suitable amount for female students than male students. Also, male students ate more regularly than female students and female students preferred more stimulating foods than male students. Male students ate slightly bland salty taste, and female students ate standard salty taste. The exercise frequency per week and the exercise time per day were more in male students than in female students. Third, the snack intake characteristics of high school students by gender showed significantly different between male students and female students at the cost of snack per day(p<.01), the time to eat snacks(p<.01) and the favorite snacks(p<.001), respectively. The cost of snack per day was higher for female students than for male students in case of less than 4,000 won. The time for eating snack showed that 'Irregularly' was high for male students and 'In the evening after lunch' was high for female students. The favorite snacks were cookies, candies and chocolates for male and female students. Forth, the dietary habits and lifestyle characteristics of high school students by stress level showed significantly different at the frequency of daily meals(p<.05), the tendency of eating habits(p<.01) and the salty taste of food(p<.05), respectively. The frequency of daily meals was more than four times in case of the 'High stress' and 'Low stress' groups. The tendency of eating habit was low in regular meal rate in 'High stress' group. Fifth, the snack intake characteristics of high school students by stress level showed significantly different in the frequency of snacks per day(p<.05) and the favorite taste of snacks(p<.05). In case of the frequency of daily snack intake, 'More than 4 times' was highest in 'High stress' group and 'Low stress' group. The favorite taste of snacks showed that the spicy taste was highest in the 'High stress' group and the 'Low stress' group.

The purpose of this study was to identify the perception between real and ideal body shapes of college students and to investigate the preferred body shape of college students. The research subjects numbered one hundred forty five male and female students, aged 20 to 29, who lived in Gwangju and Chonnam province. The anthropometric data was collected including both direct and indirect measurements. The data was analyzed by mean and standard deviation, t-test, and factor analysis. The results of t-test showed the significant difference($p{\leq}.001$) between real body size and ideal body size. The result showed that male students want to have bigger chest circumference and a taller height than their real body, the research also showed that the female students want to have a narrow bust and hip width along with a taller height than real body. Regarding ideal body shape, male students pursued bigger height and want an inverted-triangle body shape. On the other hand, female students pursued bigger height and slim body shape. This study established the factors(dimension of torso, height, the side shape of torso, and shoulder shape) as the perception between real and ideal body shapes. In terms of real body, the factor analysis shows two contrasting results in which the height is the most important factor for female students, while the torso dimension is the most important factor for male students. In terms of ideal body, the height factor is the most important for both the male and female students.
The purpose of this study was to examine the dietary habits of boarding high school students in Gangwon based on gender and stress levels. Questionnaires were distributed to 571 boarding high school students and collected from 491 students from June 28 to July 20, 2011. The statistical data analyses were completed using SPSS (ver. 19.0) for the descriptive analysis, independent sample t-test and $X^2$-test. The mean stress score was 23.7 out of 40, and male's stress was significantly higher than female's (p<0.05). The rates of having daily breakfast and dinner were significantly influenced by gender (p<0.01), and the regularity of lunch was significantly different depending on the stress level (p<0.05). Female students consumed less flour based foods (p<0.01), carbonated drinks (p<0.01), juices (p<0.05) and functional drinks (p<0.01) than male students, but male students consumed less cookies and breads (p<0.01). Dietary habits that boarding high school students should improve were an unbalanced diet (38%), too much intake at once (17%) and prejudice against foods (11%), and their primary value in dietary life was preference (33%), followed by staving off hunger (18%) and pleasure (18%). The average level of interest in dietary life was 2.46 (on a Likert-type 3-point scale) and it was significantly higher for female students (2.53) than male (2.40) (p<0.05). About 54% of students washed their hands before a meal when they thought of it, but only 25% of students always scrubbed up. The regularity of breakfast and dinner, frequency of snack intake, dietary habits that need to improve, intrest in dietary life, and washing hands before meals showed significant difference by gender but not by stress levels.
The study aims to examine college students' practice characteristics related to diet and to identify factors determining their diet practice. The subjects were college students (N=387) in Youngnam region; a questionnaire survey was conducted in May, 2007. The data were analyzed by SPSS Windows. The results are as follows: first, the ratio of female students going on a diet is higher than that of male students. Second, according to the BMI, female students more regard themselves as being overweight than male students do, although they are underweight or normal weight. Third, in the interest in diet, almost half the students think of themselves as being "somewhat" or "much" concerned about diet. Fourth, the binary logistic regression analysis shows that the significant factors affecting female students' diet practice are the variables of "grade", "interest in diet", "body image evaluation in the individuals", "information/education requirement on dietary guidelines", and "necessity to go on a diet". On the other hand, the significant variables affecting male students' diet practice are the variables of "to take diet- or health-related courses", "interest in diet", "diet knowledge", and "diet practice".

Purpose: This study aims to discover the relation between the sleep duration and quality of adolescents and their body mass index. Methods: The study used data obtained through the 2009 online survey on adolescents health behaviors, targeting a total of 75,066 middle and high school students (39,612 of male students and 35,454 of female students). We first performed t-test, ANOVA and Scheffe's test and then the potential variables which was possibly related to the body mass index are determined from the tests. Using the potential variable, we performed the multiple regression analysis to finally identify the relation between the duration and quality of sleep. Results: As a result, the 39.8% of male students and the 46.5% of female students most frequently respond that the sleep duration was less than 6 hours, and 36.4% of male students and the 45.3% of female students respond that the quality of sleep was not good enough. The body mass index of both the male and the female students portionally decreases to their sleep duration, but the better quality of sleep makes their body mass index higher. Conclusion: In conclusion, the body mass index has some notable relationship with the sleep duration and quality for adolescents. It is advised to consider the sleep duration and quality in the business plans for adolescents in order for the prevention of their body mass index.

The authors studied paranoid ideation and obsession, using Derogatis s' SCL-90, in the subjects of 2,564 male and 1,252 female college freshmen of Yeungnam University. The authors collected the reports of Self-Rating Paranoid ideation and Obsession Scale during the periods from January to February, 1987, and applied ANOVA and t-test on paranoid ideation and obsession scores in order to compare them between various psychosocial factors, and sexes. The results are as follows: 1. There was not significant difference in the mean averages of total paranoid ideation scores between male and female students : male students scored $4.16{\pm}3.09$, female students scored $4.16{\pm}2.91$. 2. High scored items were delusion and suspiciousness. 3. Fifty-nine male students (2.3%) showed high paranoid ideation scores of 12 or higher, while twenty-six female students(2.1%) showed the same scores. 4. There was strong tendency toward higher paranoid ideation scores in the students who were dissatisfied with their home atmosphere, college, department and familiarity of parents and those who had pessimistic view of self in the past, present or future in both group(respectively P<0.001). The male students who believed protestantism showed higher level of paranoid ideation scores (P<0.01). The male students who attened the department of fine art showed higher level of paranoid ideation scores (P<0.05). 5. There was significant difference in the mean averages of total obsession scores between male and female students (P<0.05) : male students scored $10.40{\pm}5.43$, female students scored $10.75{\pm}5.02$. 6. High scored Items were perfectionism, indecisiveness, inattention & obsessive thoughts. 7. Thirty-eight male students(1.6%) showed high obsession scores of 25 or higher, while fifteen female students(1.2%) showed the same scores. 8. There was strong tendency toward higher obsession scores in the students who were dissatisfied with their home atmosphere, college, department and familiarity of parents and those who had pessimistic view of self in the past, present, or future in both group(respectively P<0.001). The female students who attended the department of home economics & whose educational fees were paid by her brothers & sister, showed higher level of obsession scores(respectively P<0.01).
