  • This study explored the appearance management experiences of breast cancer patients undergoing mastectomy. For data collection, one-on-one interviews were held with 18 Korean females diagnosed with breast cancer from the first stage to the third stage from 2008 to 2015. The data was analyzed through a three-step analysis of grounded theory. QSR NVivo 11.0 for Mac was applied in order to avoid biased results according to the subjective viewpoint of researchers. From open coding results, six paradigms and 15 categories were drawn. The results of axial coding showed that the psychological changes category was the central phenomenon. Additionally, three categories (skin changes, scalp/hair changes, and general reactions) were found to be causal conditions, and five paradigms (clothing behavior, skin care behavior, makeup behavior, scalp/hair-care behavior, and shopping behavior) were found to be action/interaction strategies. Last, selective coding integrated fragmented qualitative data through open coding and axial coding in order to derive explanatory narratives. A comprehensive examination of the appearance management behaviors of breast cancer patients suffering from extreme stress due to physical/psychological changes enables this study to provide a foundation for related studies to be activated in the clothing and textiles discipline.

  • The advanced passive pressurized water reactor (PWR) is being constructed in China and the passive residual heat removal (PRHR) system was designed to remove the decay heat. During accident scenarios with increase of heat removal from the primary coolant system, the actuation of the PRHR will enhance the cooldown of the primary coolant system. There is a risk of power excursion during the cooldown of the primary coolant system. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the thermal hydraulic behavior of the reactor coolant system (RCS) at this condition. The advanced passive PWR model, including major components in the RCS, is built by SCDAP/RELAP5 code. The thermal hydraulic behavior of the core is studied for two typical accident sequences with PRHR actuation to investigate the core cooling capability with conservative assumptions, a main steam line break (MSLB) event and inadvertent opening of a steam generator (SG) safety valve event. The results show that the core is ultimately shut down by the boric acid solution delivered by Core Makeup Tank (CMT) injections. The effects of CMT boric acid concentration and the activation delay time on accident consequences are analyzed for MSLB, which shows that there is no consequential damage to the fuel or reactor coolant system in the selected conditions.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze whether the cosmetic interest of middle school female students(n=126) is related to purchase satisfaction by using purchase behavior and informatization level as control variables. Based on the research model, three hypotheses were set and statistical tests were conducted. The results of this study are as follows. First, middle school female students used cosmetics from elementary school and cosmetics education was requested from elementary school. Therefore proper early education on cosmetic use is needed. Second, the degree of interest and purchasing behavior of cosmetics was positively correlated with the purchase satisfaction of cosmetics. Third, the purchasing behavior of cosmetics was found to have a more effect on purchase satisfaction than the cosmetics interest. Especially, 'cosmetics purchase behavior' had a moderating effect on purchase satisfaction. Fourth, there was no difference in the average among the grades about cosmetics category(cosmetic interest, purchase behavior, informatization level, purchase satisfaction). This study needs to pay more attention to cosmetics purchasing behavior, which has the greatest effect on the satisfaction of cosmetics purchasing among middle school girls, and suggests that further studies will be continued to expand the range and ages in the future.
