  • This study identified the correlation between emotional labor, resilience, and clinical practice stress in dental hygiene students and investigated the factors affecting clinical practice stress. The data collection was conducted on 165 students of Chungcheong Province who experienced clinical practice. Data were analyzed using the SPSS 18.0 statistics program. Significant negative correlation was found between emotional labor and resilience (r=-.257). And Significant positive correlation was found between clinical practice stress and emotional labor (r=.426). Factors related to clinical practice stress were emotional labor and major satisfaction. Therefore, it will be necessary to develop clinical practice education programs to reduce emotional labor experienced in clinical practice and improve resilience to reduce the stress of clinical practice for dental hygiene students.

  • In this study, a model curriculum for the Library and Information Science programs in Junior Colleges is presented by comparing those curricula of the Republic of Korea, the United States of America, England and Japan. In Korea, 80 credits are required for graduate of Junior College and 60 credits of that total credits are for major courses. At Toshokan Danki Daikagu in Japan, 73 credits are opened for the Department of Library Science and 87 credits for the Department of Library and Information Science respectively. In the United States of America, 30 credits for major courses out of 90 total credits are opened at Lansing Community College and 24 credits for major courses out of 60-64 credits at Mesa Community College distinctively. On the basis of the various analyses, the following principles are applied in designning the model curriculum; (1) Possibly 3 credits per subject are assigned, (2) Major credits for graduate are 60-64 credits including possible optional subjects, (3) 20 percents of those 60-64 credits shall be applied for electives, so that 72-78 credits are assigned for major, (4) In order to combine theory and practice, and to select practice areas as required major, the ratio between required and elective must be adjusted, (5) In order to avoid duplication of subject, adequate individuality must be provided, (6) The Information Science areas must be dealt with in Library Science since computer systems are being rapidly adopted in libraries and the education for resources of materials and foreign languages are also important for successful fulfillment of mediator's roles between materials and users. Therefore the following model curriculum is suggested; 31 credits in 11 subjects for required major, 46 credits in 18 subjects for electives in major, total 77 credits for 29 subjects are established, and it includes such areas as material organization, foreign languages, resources of materials, library management, information science, fundamental studies, services and practice.

The number of study subjects was calculated using G*power program 3.19. The data collected from the study were analyzed using SPSS/WIN version 25. The subject's characteristics, knowledge, attitude, and preventive practices against COVID-19 were analyzed with descriptive statistics, and the difference in knowledge, attitude, and prevention practices against COVID-19 according to the subject's characteristics was evaluated using an independent t-test, ANOVA, and post-hoc test was conducted using a Scheffé test. Correlations of knowledge, attitude, and prevention practices against COVID-19 were analyzed using Pearson Correlation coefficients, and factors affecting COVID-19 prevention practices were analyzed using stepwise multiple regression. The number of subjects analyzed in the study was 232. The general characteristics of the study subjects were 78 males (33.7 %) and 154 females (66.3 %). The subject's knowledge score about COVID-19 was 85.13±6.22 out of 100 points, and the attitude score toward COVID-19 was 12.47±1.31 out of 14 points. The prevention practice score for COVID-19 was 29.36±3.42 out of 32 points. As a result of the study, knowledge about COVID-19 was found to have a significant positive correlation with attitude (r=.34, p<.001); COVID-19 prevention practice behavior was found to have a significant positive correlation with knowledge (r=.54, p<.001), and attitude (r=.62, p<.001). The main factors influencing the COVID-19 prevention practice behavior were knowledge, attitude, and major (Cosmetology major).

  • This study was attempted to analyze the current status of curriculums programs in the pet-related departments in the fifteen colleges in Korea which have operated the relevant courses of major practice since they were newly established in 2003 or later. Thus, this study aimed to suggest how to develop the curriculums for pet-related departments so that the study had the goal of creating the common gold standards between the Korean cultural industry of companion animal and the relevant curriculums. Based upon the results listed above, it is considered that pet-related curriculums should be developed and operated as follows: First, the curriculums preferred highly by both undergraduates and employees should be selected and operated. Second, liberal arts courses concerning companion animal culture required to cultivate cultural comprehension for basic abilities should be opened. Third, major courses concerning animal-assisted therapy (AAT) together with the existing major practice courses should be established so that undergraduates can grow into professionals. Fourth, to do so, appropriate machines and instruments for major practice laboratories should be introduced and maintained. fifth, some pet-related departments substituting major theory courses for major practice courses should improve their organizations. Sixth, standardized curriculums fur pet-related departments and an evaluating institute fur them should be arranged and founded. Finally, the college management should invest constantly in the suitable major practice laboratories and their facilities for companion animal industry as well as curriculum operations.

  • Background: This study analyzed the differences in practice satisfaction, major, and willingness to work abroad among dental hygiene department students at K University in Gangwon-do based on their participation in international practicums. Methods: A survey was conducted on a total of 215 students through convenience sampling of dental hygiene students, and the final 214 responses were analyzed. General characteristics were examined. Major satisfaction and grades were measured on a 5-point Likert scale. And satisfaction with practice, intention to participate in international practicums, and employment were investigated by papers. Descriptive statistical analysis was performed on general characteristics using SPSS software (version 26.0). Due to the convenience sample, nonparametric analysis was used to determine satisfaction with practice and major according to general characteristics using the Mann-whitney U and Kruskal-wallis test. An independent samples t-test was conducted to determine the difference between practice satisfaction and major satisfaction depending on participation in international practicums, and Fisher's exact test was conducted to determine practice satisfaction, willingness to participate in overseas internships, and employment. Results: Concerning future participation in international clinical practicums, 66.7% of students who had previously participated in overseas training expressed willingness to engage again. 40.9% of those who had not participated showed no intention of participating, and there was a significant difference (p<0.05). Additionally, 76.2% of the participants expressed interest in overseas employment, with this difference also being statistically significant (p<0.05). Conclusion: It was confirmed that students' satisfaction with practice and major increased through participation in international practicums, and that they had a positive intention to work abroad and participate in overseas internship programs in the future.

We surveyed 138 students who participated in the clinical practice program and they were university or college students in the area of Busan and Kyungnam. As a result, the satisfaction level of professional guidance were the highest and the satisfaction level of practice evaluation were the lowest. In the college students, the satisfaction level of the professional guidance were the highest and the satisfaction level of practice environment were the lowest. In the university students, the satisfaction level of the practice duration were the highest and the satisfaction level of practice evaluation were the lowest. The results of multiple regression analysis between the satisfaction level and the related variables indicated that the status of radiologist in the clinical practice are the major component in the college students and the status of radiologist in the academic duration and the clinical experience are the major component that contribute the satisfaction level in the university students.
