This paper introduces the methodology for restrict adjustment of 25 mail sorting centers including 3 new mail sorting centers to balance their work loads and minimize their operating costs. We calculated the capacity of mail sorting centers considering mail types and analyzed the collection/delivery mail volume of 214 post offices to measure the work loads of mail sorting centers. We also developed the mathematical model and genetic algorithm to find the optimal solution for this problem.

Recently, mail center considers introducing the automatic mail sorting machine to improve the productivity of sorting process. This paper deals with the development of optimal process plan for the mail sorting machine. We suggest several alternatives and evaluate them throughout the process analyzing method.

Recently, the public postal service of Korea confronts with business environment changes such as the opening of postal market and appearance of the domestic competitive enterprises. It is the current state that the public postal service of Korea should have a competitive edge by the productivity improvement of business processes. In this paper, we proposed new working tables for manual letter sorting which is one of the important process in mail center. We suggested standard working method and standard time in a mail center Based on these, we established the procedure for setting up a fair day's work in other mail centers. By the result of this research, we expect that the productivity of the mail sorting operation will be increased.

In this paper, we develop a transportation planning system for the mail transportation network, which consists of 25 mail centers and one mail exchange center. The main functions of the system are adjustment of transportation plan, creation of new transportation plan, and calculation of expected exchange mail volume which are transported through mail exchange center. We develop an adjusting algorithm which gives a new transportation plan by deleting, adding or changing the current routes. The algorithm based on the transportation results of current transportation plan and mail volume data. We design and implement a planning system by installing the algorithm as the planning engine. For the practical use, the system is connected to the information system of Korea Post, PostNet.

최근에 스마트 폰과 같은 모바일 플랫폼의 사용이 증가함에 따라, 모바일 플랫폼에서 사용자의 편의성을 증대시켜주는 시스템 및 프로그램에 대한 요구 사항이 커지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 한국어 E-mail로부터 회의 등의 일정에 관한 정보를 얻어내는 시스템 구조를 제안하고, 그 중 일정의 시간 정보에 대한 구현 및 성능을 제시한다. 본 논문에서는 일정을 서술하기 위해 필요할 것으로 생각되는 12가지의 정보 유형을 정의하였다. 또한, E-mail의 서술 형태를 개조식으로 서술된 부분과 비개조식으로 서술된 부분으로 분류하고, 개조식으로 서술된 부분에 대하여 시간과 관련된 2가지 정보를 추출 하였다. 실험 결과, 일정의 '시작 시간'에 대한 정보 추출의 경우 F-Measure 90.10% 일정의 '종료 시간'에 대한 정보 추출의 경우 F-Measure 84.07%를 달성하였다.

기업은 커뮤니케이션 수단 및 업무처리를 위한 수단으로 이메일을 사용한다. 이메일은 비즈니스의 주요업무를 처리하기 때문에 기업 정보의 많은 부분을 보존하고 있다. 그러므로 기업 기밀 유출과 같은 사건 조사시에 이메일은 중요한 증거가 될 수 있다. 하지만 용의자가 의도적으로 이메일을 삭제할 가능성도 있기 때문에, 삭제된 이메일을 복원하는 것은 포렌식 관점에서 매우 중요하다. 본 논문은 다양한 이메일 클라이언트 파일 내에 존재하는 삭제된 이메일 아이템 구조를 분석하고, 파일에 존재하는 이메일 복원 가능성과 복원 방안을 설명한다.

Processing mail objects in a mail processing center involves several steps and operations, in particular dispatching as well as sorting by destination. The purpose of this paper is to present a model for the part-time worker staffing and allocation problem as it arises at the parcel sorting area in a mail processing center. The problem is formulated as a mixed integer linear program model to minimize the variable part-time workforce related cost. Hot only the characteristics of the sorting operations but also the dispatching requirements of the vehicles are reflected into the model. Six example problems with three different daily amounts of arriving mail are solved with LINGO to demonstrate the effectiveness of the 7-level induction option for the parcel sorting machine over the current 3-level one. The results indicate that measurable savings can be achieved by departing from current practice.

This paper attempts to propose the decision support model, which can be employed for 22 mail centers to improve their operational efficiency and competitive. This model deals with both DEA method and system dynamics model. DEA is a management tool aimed to determine relative efficiency of independent decision making unit. We measured the relative efficiency between mail centers using CCR model and tried to find the reason for inefficiency mail centers. Also, we introduced the system dynamics model to present the strategic policy for mail center to strengthen their efficiency.

현재 인터넷 상에서 신속한 의사소통을 위해 사용되는 전자우편의 증가는 상업적 의도를 가진 상품 홍보 수단으로 악용되며, 많은 사회적 문제를 유발시키고 있다. 이에 다양한 스팸 차단 필터 기술이 개발되고 있으나, 차단필터의 성능에 따라 정상 메일을 스팸 메일로 오인하여 사용자의 시스템 이용 신뢰도를 크게 저하시키고 있다. 본 논문에서는 스팸 메일 차단 시스템의 이용 신뢰도를 높이기 위해 Privacy 기반의 스팸 메일 복구 기법이 적용된 SMBC(Spam Mail Blocking Center) 스팸 메일 차단 플랫폼을 설계 및 제안한다. SMBC는 Proxy Server 기반의 스팸 차단 시스템 프레임 레이어로 설계되며, 물리적으로 임의의 위상(Topology)로 구축 가능하여, 플랫품 구현시 유연한 모듈/구성 레이어 개발이 가능하다. 제안된 SMBC 플랫폼은 기존 스팸 메일 차단 시스템에 비해 처리 부하와 차단 필터의 오인률을 최소화하여 시스템 이용 신뢰도를 높일 수 있도록 설계되었다.

우편물 배송에 있어서 신속함과 비용의 최소화를 위하여 각 구간별 운송거리와 더불어 우편 운송차량 수와 같은 가중치를 고려하여 우편물의 총 이동 거리를 최소화 할 수 있는 최적의 교환센터 선정이 필요하다. 본 논문은 구간별 운송 차량수와 운송 거리를 고려하여, 국내 주요 도시에 위치한 우편 집중국을 연결하는 최적 위치의 교환센터를 GOSST 이론을 이용하여 찾는 방법을 제안한다. 이 방법으로 교환센터의 위치를 선정할 경우, 현재의 대전을 교환센터로 하는 방법은 물론, 운송차량 수와 같은 가중치를 고려하지 않은 스타이너 트리 방법에 비해 전체 우편물의 총 이동거리를 줄일 수 있다. 제안 방법은 신속한 배송과 비용의 최소화는 물론 환경 보호 측면에서도 바람직하다할 수 있다. 제안된 방법은 실험에서 스타이너 트리를 이용한 방법에 비해 2.52%, 현재의 방법에 비해 6.66%의 우편물의 총 이동 거리를 절감시킬 수 있었다. 제안된 방법은 우편물 배송뿐 아니라, 다양한 전압 및 가중치를 고려해야하는 송전 시스템 라우팅, 배전선로망 구성, 전력 중계소의 위치 선정 등에도 활용가능하다.
