  • We transformed the shape of a YBCO sample with striation to reduce hysteresis and ac losses. And we chose several points to analyze in detail and visualized superconducting properties like critical transition temperature, distribution of the magnetic field, distribution of the current density and hysteresis in a non-destructive manner based on Low Temperature Scanning Laser Hall Probe Microscopy (LTSLHPM) to examine the homogeneity of the sample.

  • The important point of MPI is the analysis of leakage field in the defective regions. The analysis of leakage field depends on many factors such like geometry and character of defect. In general the calculation of magnetic leakage fields arising from such defects presents an extremely complicated mathematical problem and is practically insoluable, since the inhomogeneities have complex geometrical shapes and may differ in physical nature. Therefore, this paper describes Hall probe measurements of residual leakage field around artificial flaws in alloy steel bar, and shows how the results to recent developments in 2D dipole and analytic models of the magnetic field defect interaction.

  • The uniquely large dimensions of Giant radio galaxies (GRGs) make it possible to probe for stringent limits on total energy content, Faraday rotation, Alfven speeds, particle transport and radiation loss times. All of these quantities are more stringently limited or specified for GRG's than in more 'normal' FRII radio sources. I discuss how both global and detailed analyses of GRG's lead to constraints on the CR electron acceleration mechanisms in GRG's and by extension in all FRII radio sources. The properties of GRG's appear to rule out large scale Fermi-type shock acceleration. The plasma parameters in these systems set up conditions that are favorable for magnetic reconnection, or some other very efficient process of conversion of magnetic to particle energy. We conclude that whatever mechanism operates in GRG's is probably the primary extragalactic CR acceleration mechanism in the Universe.

  • Current information storage devices, such as HDD, CD/DVD-ROM/RW, probe-based memory and hologram memory, are compared with biological information storage mechanisms in DNA and brain memory. Newly developed approaches to overcome the limit of storage capacity are introduced in both magnetic and optical recording devices. Linear and areal density of information stored in the biological and mechanical storages are compared for the applications and developments of new storage devices.

  • The semiconductor's design rule becomes more stringent, hence the silicon-dioxide etching technique is important issue. In this work we compared the etching characteristics of different three types of Plasma source, Normal ICP, magnetized ICP and E-IC $P^{TM}$. The E-IC $P^{TM}$ source shows higher etch rate at lower pressure and this is advantageous for the fine pattern process. The etching characteristics were varied with external magnetic field frequency at I-lCP and this is examined with Nanospe $c^{TM}$ and SEM. We designed Langmuir probe system for time resolved diagnosis. ion density of E-ICP is varying periodically with the applied external magnetic field frequencyquency

  • This work concerns a research for helicon wave plasma generators with applications to materials pro-cessing. For this end, helicon wave plasma source has been designed, constructed and tested. High density plasma was successfully produced and diagnosed with Langmuir probe. The measured maximum plasma de-nsity in this work was $10^{11}cm{-3}$ with 295 gauss of magnetic field and electron temperature was about 3.5eV. The uniformity of plasma densities in the radial direction was excellent with 160 gauss of magnetic field on the cross section which is 10cm apart from the edge of the exciting coil.

  • A precise magnetic field probe was designed to measure the field distribution inside a superconducting magnet. The operation principle of the developed equipment is based on cw-NMR. The range of field is from 2.8 T to 5.8 T, and the resolution is better than 0.3 ppm NMR samples were water and heavy water contained in a tube of 4 mm diameter and 4mm height. This equipment can be manufactured very inexpensively compared with the currently available commertial ones.

  • In most traditional sorption study in environmental conditions, experimental sorption data have been measured and interpreted by empirical ways such as partition coefficient and sorption isotherms. A mechanistic understanding of heavy metal interactions with various minerals (metal oxides, clay minerals) in aqueous medium is required to describe the behavior of radioactive metal ions in the environment. Various spectroscopic methods provide direct or indirect information on sorption mechanisms involved. We applied EPR (Electron Paramagnetic Resonance) spectroscopy to investigate the nature of metal ion sorption at water/mineral interfaces using Cu(II) as a spin probe. The major sorbed species and their motional state was identified by their EPR spectra. They showed distinct signals due to their strength of binding, local structure and motional state. The EPR results together with macroscopic sorption data show that sorption involved at least three different mechanisms depending on chemical environments (1).
