Magnetic hysteresis in Ni nanowire arrays grown by electrodeposition inside the pores of anodic alumina templates is studied as a function of temperature in the range between 5 K and 300 K. Nanowires with different diameters, aspect ratios, inter-wire distance in the array and surface condition (smooth and rough) are synthesized. These microstructure parameters are linked to the different free magnetic energy contributions determining coercivity and the controlling magnetization reversal mechanisms. Coercivity increases with temperature in arrays of nanowires with rough surfaces and small diameters -33 nm and 65 nm- when measured without removing the alumina template and/or the Al substrate. For thicker wires -200 nm in diameter and relatively smooth surfaces- measured without the Al substrate, coercivity decreases as temperature rises. These temperature dependences of magnetic hysteresis are described in terms of an effective magnetic anisotropy $K_a$, resulting from the interplay of magnetocrystalline, magnetoelastic and shape anisotropies, together with the magnetostatic interaction energy density between nanowires in the array. The experimentally determined coercive fields are compared with results of micromagnetic calculations, performed considering the magnetization reversal mode acting in each studied array and microstructure parameters. A method is proposed to roughly estimate the value of $K_a$ experimentally, from the hysteresis loops measured at different temperatures. These measured values are in agreement with theoretical calculations. The observed temperature dependence of coercivity does not arise from an intrinsic property of pure Ni but from the nanowires surface roughness and the way the array is measured, with or without the alumina template and/or the aluminum support.
We investigated theoretically the magnetic field dependence of the quantum optical transition of qusi 2-Dimensional Landau splitting system, in CdS and ZnO. In this study, we investigate electron confinement by square well confinement potential in magnetic field system using quantum transport theory(QTR). In this study, theoretical formulas for numerical analysis are derived using Liouville equation method and Equilibrium Average Projection Scheme (EAPS). In this study, the absorption power, P (B), and the Quantum Transition Line Widths (QTLWS) of the magnetic field in CdS and ZnO can be deduced from the numerical analysis of the theoretical equations, and the optical quantum transition line shape (QTLS) is found to increase. We also found that QTLW, ${\gamma}(B)_{total}$ of CdS < ${\gamma}(B)_{total}$ of ZnO in the magnetic field region B<25 Tesla.
We have studied the magnetic helicity of active regions by using the data from (1) the photo-electric magnetograph of the Okayama Observatory (1983-1995) and (2) the video magnetograph of NAOJ/Mitaka (1992-2000). The latitude distribution of helicity showed a tendency that the regions in the north (south) hemisphere have negative (positive) helicities, respectively, which is already known as the hemispheric sign rule. If we look into the sign of helicity as a function of time, the sign rule was less definite or was reversed sometimes in the sunspot minimum phase. We also studied the relation between the magnetic helicity and the sunspot tilt angles, and found that these two quantities are positively correlated, which is opposite to the expectation of a theoretical model. The implications of this cycle-phase dependence of helicity signs and the correlation between magnetic he Ii city and sunspot tilt angles are discussed.
The dependence of the magnetoimpedance effect (MI) on magnetic properties has been investigated in mumetal thin films prepared by rf magnetron sputtering. Coercivity of thin films prepared at 400 W was about 0.4 Oe, and the magnetic anisotropy field of films deposited under a uniaxial magnetic field decreased with increasing film thickness. The saturation magnetization of mumetal films increased with rising input power and thickness and was smaller than that of permalloy films. Transverse incremental Permeability (TPR) of films of 1$\mu m$ thick increased with increasing effective permeability. The magneto impedance ratio (MIR) was proportional to TPR in films 1$\mu m$ thick but in spite of lower effective permeability at higher thicknesses, MIR increased due to skin effect. The height of the double peaks in the MIR curves decreased with decreasing anisotropy and thickness. The maximum MIR value for a 4$\mu m$ thick 75% at 36.5 MHz.
The magnetic properties for sanal's mobility inside of the lymphatic primo vascular system, the so-called Kyungrak (or meridian) system, are investigated under a low static magnetic field with the anatomy technology and optical microscope. One sanal with a size of 1 ${\mu}m$ under microscope selected and separated from the primo vessels of the primo vascular system are observed in rabbits' lymphatic vessels around abdominal aorta and placed in PBS solution with petridish. The moving displacement of sanal versus the measuring time of 20 Oe below a magnetic field of 80 Oe is stronger in dominanting dependence according to the x-direction than y-direction.
In the course of magnetic study on several perovskite-type oxides, A2Fe(Ⅲ)BO6 (A = Ca, Sr, Ba and B = Sb, Bi), we have observed a strong irreversibility in their dc-magnetizations. When the structural data and the Mossbauer spectra are considered, such an irreversibility is to be associated with some competitions between the nearest-neighbors (nn) and the next-nearest-neighbors (nnn) in their magnetic sublattices. Particularly, the Mossbauer spectra indicate that Sr2FeBiO6 of cubic perovskite-structure is apparently well ordered crystalline compound. Nontheless this antiferromagnet shows a magnetic property which resembles that of a spin-glass. The strong history dependence is observed below 91 K and the irreversible magnetic behavior is also observed from the measurement of hysteresis loops at 10 K after zero-field-cooled (zfc) and field-cooled (fc) processes. Considering the nn and the nnn superexchanges of almost same order in ordered perovskite, it is proposed that there exists a competition and cancellation of antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic superexchange between the nearest-neighbors and the next-nearest-neighbors, thus introducing a certain degree of frustration.

Electromagnetic actuators are versatile and able to meet demanding requirements, such as operation in very low or very high temperatures. When the actuator is used in a high-temperature environment up to $500^{\circ}C$, we need to know how the force-producing capability of the actuator is affected by the operating temperature. Specifically, it is necessary to know the temperature-dependence of magnetic properties that determine the mechanical forces. In this paper, we measure the changes in magnetic properties of SUS410 material in high-temperature environment. We also devise a novel signal processing technique to remove the integration drift. At the field strength of 18,000 A/m, we found that the flux density at $500^{\circ}C$ is decreased by 26%, compared to the result at room temperature. Therefore, the actuator must be sized appropriately, if it is to operate in high-temperature settings.
We have studied the magnetization in fields up to 1T at 5K, the saturation magnetization dependence on temperature and the temperature dependence of AC-susceptibility at very low fields (5mOe to 50mOe) of glassy $Fe_{91-x}Zr_{7}B_{2}Ni_{x}$ (x = 0, 5, 10, 15) alloys. The temperature dependence of the magnetization follows the predictions of spin wave excitations with long wavelengths. At zero Ni concentration there is a clear competition between ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic interactions giving rise to spin-glass behaviour. The addition of Ni drastically modifies the magnetic properties: the antiferromagnetic exchange coupling is reduced and finally disappears, the spin wave stiffness increases from 39.5 to $87.3\;meV{\AA}^{2}$ and To increases from 230 K to 478 K. We develop a simple model to quantify the competing interactions and to relate the antiferromagnetically coupled Fe moments to the Ni concentration. We find that the initial susceptibility increases with increasing Ni content along with a decrease of the temperature dependence.
The effect of sputtering conditions on magnetic properties of CoCrMo/Cr magnetic thin film was investigated. Substrate temperature were controlled from R. T to $250^{\circ}C$. The thickness changes of Cr underlayer and CoCrMo magnetic layer were in the range of $1000-2500\AA$ and $300-800\AA$, respectively. Grain size was found to be decreased with increasing magnetic layer thickness(from $500\AA$ to $800\AA$). CoCrMo magnetic layer microstructure showed relatively small dependence on Cr underlayer thickness, substrate temperature. Coercivity increased with increasing Cr underlayer, magnetic layer thickness and substrate temperature. CoCrMo/Cr thin film showed a coercivity of 880 Oe in $700\AA$ magnetic layer thickness and $1000\AA$ Cr underalyer thickness.
The structure of the magnetic funnel element in the intermediate polar is considered in terms of an important site for the X-ray absorption and the reemission of the X-ray as the optical light. In this paper the column density and the optical depth vary with the filling factor, which is introduced to characterize the structure of matter in the magnetic funnel element. The results of the energy dependence of the X-ray spectrum and the modulation depth of the X-ray light curve are discussed.
