This study investigated how pre-service English teachers perceive the effects of machine teaching on their English writing competence. 35 Korean students who are majoring in English education participated in this study. The participants used machine translators for one of the required courses related to English composition. A survey and focus group interview were conducted at the end of the course. They were asked to answer to what degree they perceive the effects of machine translators on their writing in terms of lexical, sentential, and discourse levels. Furthermore, their perspectives on the effects of machine translation on English teaching including limitations of machine translators, were interviewed in more detail. The results show that the participants perceive machine translators quite positively in terms of improving their writing competence, but they also point out some critical limitations of machine translators. These findings have some pedagogical implications for English writing course instructors, English teacher educators, and program developers.

A light-weight enough to be portable yet functionally complete hand-writing machine was designed with hardware assembled and software implemented. The machine simulating human hand-writing not only allows identical massive scriptings on papers in human's proxy, but also offers emotional appearance as if the script was directly hand-written in ink. The features of human writing were independently put together to complete the action of scripting. The writing style could be altered in order to mimic a person's own specific writing style. The present work demonstrates that the assembled hand-writing machine was able to duplicate writing of scripts in almost parallel lines in consistent manner. The machine can be used in the emotional marketing area where seasonal greetings or thank-you cards are to be sent in massive manner. The pen-holding machine can also find an emotional application such as writing a short greeting note on a plastic lid on a disposable coffee cup in coffee-selling stores.

본 연구는 초급반 L2 쓰기 수업에서 번역기의 사용 현황을 조사하고, 그들이 응답한 번역기의 필요성, 신뢰도, 한계를 통해 그 타당성을 조명하고자 했다. 대학에서 초급 L2 수업을 수강한 117명의 학생이 설문조사에 참여했고, 그 가운데 11명은 추가적으로 실시된 심층면접에서 응답 내용을 설명했다. 수집된 자료에서 쓰기 수업에 활용된 번역기의 신뢰 정도, 효과, 사용 범위 등에 대한 다양한 관점들이 제시되었다. 응답자의 76.1%가 쓰기 활동에서 나름대로의 방법과 목적을 가지고 번역기를 사용하고 있었다. 그들은 번역기를 통해 부족한 영어 능력을 보완했고, 그 과정에서 수업참여의 동기와 자신감이 고취되었다고 설명했다. 반면에, 학생들은 부정확한 기계번역을 검토와 수정이라는 중요한 학습 과정을 생략한 채 그대로 옮겨 쓰게 된다면 학습 효과도 없을 뿐 아니라 표절행위가 될 수 있음을 지적했다. 그럼에도 불구하고 번역기는 이 시대에 새롭게 등장한 효율적인 학습 도구이며 효과적이고 완성도 있는 글쓰기를 위해 활용될 가치가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

본 논문은 기계학습을 기반으로 하는 중등수준의 단문형 영어작문 자동채점시스템에 대해 제안한다. 본 논문에서는 기계학습을 이용한 영어 자동채점의 전반적인 수행 방법과 시스템의 구성 및 동작방식, 채점자질의 고려사항에 대해 논한다. 학생 답안의 내용 완성도를 평가하기 위하여 문서의 내용을 요약한 "개념답안"을 제안하여 사용하였다. 본 연구에서는 여러 개의 기계학습 알고리즘을 사용하여 자동평가를 수행한다. 자동평가의 성능을 향상시키기 위해 여러 개의 기계학습 알고리즘의 결과를 최적으로 결합하여 하나의 최종 결과를 도출할 수 있는 "최적조합" 결정과정을 제안한다. 실제 학생들의 작문 데이터를 이용하여 시스템을 구축하고 자동채점 시스템의 성능 평가를 수행하였다.

Recently, open source automatic machine learning solutions have been applied in many fields. To apply open source automated machine learning to real world problems, you need to write code with expertise in machine learning. Writing code without machine learning knowledge is challenging. To solve this problem, the automatic machine learning solutions provided by startups are made easy to use with a clean user interface. In this paper, we review automatic machine learning solutions of startups.

AI-powered robot news is drawing attention as artificial intelligence technology is fully spread in the news distribution field. Robot news still has many technical and ethical problems, but academic research on this is insufficient. This study analyzes the issue of robot writing in artificial intelligent based robot journalism industry using SWOT analysis. As a result, the advantages of big data processes, accurate information gathering, high efficiency and disadvantages such as lack of independent arguments and lack of evidence and opportunities for technical development, government support, academic development, and industrial applications, and threats such as uncritical acceptance and lack of talent have been found. This study suggests three future-oriented directions, such as human-machine collaboration, intelligent news, and chat-bot, through previous studies on the development direction of robot journalism-based article writing.

이 논문에서는 GPT를 효과적으로 활용하는 성찰적 글쓰기 교육의 방법과 단계를 수업 가이드라인화해서 실제 수업이 가능하도록했다. 이 논문에서는 GPT라는 인공지능 글쓰기 기계의 사용을 물리적·실제적으로 막기 어려운 현실에서 자기를 성찰하는 글쓰기 교육론에서 효과적으로 활용하는 수업 가이드라인을 모색한 것이다. 첫째, 준비 단계에서는 GPT의 작동원리를 학습자에게 이해시키고 활용지침을 교육하면서 GPT를 활용한 글감 아이디어 모델링과 자기화로 수업의 방법을 제안했다. 그 뒤 과제의 실례를 들었다. 둘째, GPT 활용 단계에서는 성찰적 글쓰기의 개요짜기, 단락쓰기, 퇴고하기의 과정에 따라서 GPT를 활용한 글감 아이디어 모델링과 자기화를 하는 방법을 실례를 들어서 보여줬다. 셋째, 정리 단계에서는 교수자가 학습자의 글을 첨삭하고 최종 수정하도록 돕고 정리·반성하는 과정을 제시했다.

본 연구의 목적은 기계번역을 활용한 대학교 영어쓰기 수업에서 한-영 기계번역 결과물에 나타난 형태적 및 구문적 오류 유형과 그에 대한 원인을 분석하기 위한 것이다. 한국의 EFL 대학생 7명이 연구에 참여하였으며, 그들은 한 학기동안 총 3회의 영어쓰기 과제를 수행하였다. 본 연구에서는 학생들이 제출한 영어쓰기 결과물 중 기계번역 결과물에 나타난 형태적 및 구문적 오류의 유형을 분석하였으며, 우리말 초고와 비교 분석을 통하여 그 원인을 찾아보고자 하였다. 분석결과, 기계번역 결과물에서 가장 많이 발생한 오류는 문장구조와 표기법 관련 오류였으며, 기계번역 결과물에서 발생한 대부분의 오류는 한국어 원문의 오류로 인하여 발생한 것으로 파악되었다.

최근 인공지능의 새로운 기술들이 하루가 다르게 발전하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 인공지능 교육과 글쓰기 교육을 연계하여 초등학생들의 어휘력 향상을 위한 수업을 설계하고자 한다. 그 방법으로는 본 수업에 앞서 어휘 10문제를 테스트하여 실험에 참가하기 전의 어휘력을 점검한다. 그 후 머신러닝 포키즈를 이용하여 여러 감정에 해당되는 단어들을 다양하게 훈련하도록 하였고, 그 후 관련된 어휘 10문제를 다시 테스트 하였다. 실험 결과 실험에 참가하기 전에는 100점 만점에 58.8점으로 나왔으나 훈련 후의 결과는 평균 68점으로 모든 학생의 성적이 좋아지는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 어휘력 문항수가 적은 점과 10명의 실험참가자로 일반화할 수 없는 한계가 있다. 향후 초등교재 한권을 선정하여 어휘를 모두 분석한 후 가장 많이 등장하는 어휘를 골라내어 테스트하여 좀 더 통계적으로 의미 있는 분석을 하고자 한다.

최근 AI기반 온라인 번역 도구의 활용도가 높아짐에 따라 이에 대한 교육적 활용 방안 및 효과에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 초등 예비교사를 30명을 대상으로 AI기반 온라인 번역도구를 활용한 영작문 과업을 수행하고 영어 글쓰기 능력에 미치는 영향과 실제적 경험을 기반으로 AI번역도구에 대한 활용 가능성, 교육적 활용도 및 장단점 등에 대한 인식을 살펴보았다. 작문시험, 설문조사와 인터뷰를 통해 수집된 자료를 바탕으로 분석한 결과, 영어 글쓰기의 완성도 및 충실도에 있어서 유의미한 증가를 보였으며, 학습자들의 인식에서도 번역도구의 사용은 학습에 대한 즉각적인 지원과 편의성을 제공, 효과적인 도구활용을 위한 교육적 전략의 필요성에 대한 긍정적 인식도 나타났으나, 번역의 완성도나 정확성을 높이기 위한 방법, 도구 활용에 대한 과용과 의존성에 대한 우려도 제기되었다. 번역도구의 효과적 활용을 위해서 교육적 전략이나 교사의 역할의 중요한 것으로 나타났다.
