  • Photovoltaic (PV) power generation system has been widely studied as a clean and renewable power source. The purpose of this study is to keep the output power of photovoltaic cells maximum under any weather conditions. There are so many MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) methods. P&O method has been used as a key MPPT method, both voltage and current coming out from PV array have to be feedback in the method. Thus, the system has a complex structure, and may fail to track MPP of PV array when unexpected weather conditions happen. In order to reduce the feedback components, POS MPPT control method was proposed by the authors. In this paper, the authors apply the POS MPPT control method to three phase PCS system. And the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme is demonstrated through PSCAD/EMTDC simulation.

  • The paper proposes a novel control algorithm for tracking maximum power of PV generation system. The maximum power of PV array is determinated by a insolation and temperature. Prior considered the term in PV generation system is how maximum power point is accurately tracked. The paper proposes a Fuzzy-Neuro control algorithm so as to accurately track those maximum power points. The proposed control algorithm comprises the antecedence part of fuzzy rule and clustering method, multi-layer neural network in the consequent part. Fuzzy-Neuro has the advantages which are depicted both high performance and robustness in Fuzzy control and high adaptive control in Neural Network. Specially, it can show the outstanding control performance for parameter variations appling to non-linear character of PV array. In paper, the tracking speed and the accuracy prove the validity through comparing a proposed algorithm with a conventional one.

  • General solar street light system needs two separate power supply for charging the battery and driving LED Lamp. In this study, one power supply is used for both charging battery and driving LED lamp. In particular, in order to increase the efficiency of the equipment, (maximum power point tracking: MPPT) was applied which is widely adopted in grid-connected solar systems. LED driver embodied using current control routine of charger into Essential constant current system.

  • Recently, interest in renewable energy is increasing due to energy depletion and environmental problems. Among them, solar energy is the most popular feature for its infinite, eco-friendly, easy to maintain and high utilization. In these solar power systems, solar cells have either a current-voltage characteristic curve or a power-voltage characteristic curve with non-linear properties. Therefore, the Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technique is important to control this. In this thesis, we will discuss MPPT techniques using a boost converter and demonstrate their behavior using the PSIM program. Also, the MPPT control algorithm for solar energy generation will be proposed.

  • 태양광발전시스템은 최대의 전력을 생산하기 위하여 PV 패널의 운전을 최대전력점에서 동작하게 하는 MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) 제어가 필요하다. 그중 대표적인 방법인 P&O(Perturb and Observe) 알고리즘은 전류와 전압을 측정하여 계산된 전력의 값이 최대가 되는 전압의 운전점을 찾는다. 그러나 센서의 측정오차로 인하여 발전전력의 계산 및 전압의 제어에 불규칙한 오차가 발생하여 정확한 MPP 운전점을 찾지 못하는 문제가 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 전형적인 맑은 날씨와 흐린 날씨에서 취득한 일사량 데이터와 전류 및 전압 센서의 오차를 고려하여 P&O 알고리즘에 의한 전력 생산량을 시뮬레이션 한다. 시뮬레이션 분석을 통해 실제 날씨 및 센서허용오차 조건에서 MPPT 목표 효율을 극대화할 수 있는 최적의 MPPT 제어주기와 변량전압의 크기를 제시한다.

  • This paper is proposed by fuzzy-based MPPT control of photovoltaic to drive induction motor. Design and prototype implement of a fuzzy logic(FL) controller for maxim]m power extraction from a stand-alon photovoltaic Is proposed in this paper. Error and the change of error between maximum power and real power are used by input of fuzzy controller. Moreover, it output changing of voltage from control constant. The validity of this paper is proved by comparing maximum power point tracking and performance of motor drive through comparison fuzzy and PI of tradition method.

  • In the PV power system, output of the PV array must contain inherent ripples due to the single-phase inverter. So the function of maximum power point tracking to increase the output efficiency of PV system is degraded. Therefore, to overcome this problem, this paper presents a control strategy for the reducing ripples of the PV array output in grid-connected photovoltaic power system. The proposed control system consists of two loops the maximum power point tracking loop using the perturbation and observation method is used to calculate the reference solar array terminal voltage(Vref) for reducing ripples of the PV array output and the PI control loop is used to regulate the solar array output voltage according to the Vref. The performance of proposing control strategy is analyzed by means of the PSCAD/EMTDC simulation. As a result, we may obtain the high performance of the proposed control strategy.

  • A small-scale wind power generation system with a switched-mode rectifier(SMR) is proposed. To simplify the converter circuit of the wind power generation system, the synchronous inductors of the permanent magnet synchronous generator(PMSG) replace the inductor for the boost converter. The sensorless maximum power point tracking(MPPT) control is carried out for the wind power generation system with the SMR. The proposed system is verified through the simulations and the experiments.

  • 태양전지는 일사량 및 온도에 의해 출력 특성이 변화하여 최대전력을 얻을 수 있는 위치도 변화한다. 따라서 태양전지의 동작점을 최대 전력점에서 동작하게 하는 최대전력점 추적(MPPT, Maximum Power Point Tracking) 이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 One switching cycle 내에 최대전력점을 추종하는 MPPT 제어 방법을 제안한다. 이 방식은 빠르게 최대 동작점을 찾을 수 있고 고효율을 가지며 다른 방식에 비해 구성이 간단하다. 새로 제안된 제어기법의 타당성을 검증하기 위하여 MPPT 실험을 수행하였다.

  • The small-sized wind turbine generating system with the output power less than 10kW, which can be installed in some areas of hills, parks, and cities due to its flexibility, is one of the progressive research and development fields in renewable energy. It is important for the small wind turbine generators to have low cost, high reliability as well as high efficiency. To meet these requirements, development of various maximum-power-point-tracking (MPPT) control schemes should be required. Generally, the output of the controller can be connected to a 48V battery to supply power to a DC load. In this work, the design and implementation of an FPGA-based MPPT controller for small-sized wind turbine generating system is presented. For the verification of the practical performance of various MPPT algorithms, CRIO controller from NI has been used.
