소결 공정 개선을 통한 미세 결정립 몰리브덴 소결체 제조 (Fabrication of Fine-grained Molybdenum Sintered Body via Modified Sintering Process)

  • In this study, the fabrication of ultra fine grained Mo bulk was conducted. $MoO_3$ nanopowders were prepared by a high energy ball-milling process and then reduced at the temperature of $800^{\circ}C$ without holding time in $H_2$ atmosphere. The particle size of Mo nanopowder was ~150 nm and grain size was ~40 nm. The two-step process was employed for the sintering of Mo nanopowder to obtain fine grain size. The densification over 90% could be obtained by the two-step sintering with a grain size of less than 660 nm. For higher density, modified two-step sintering was designed. 95% of theoretical density with the grain size of 730 nm was obtained by the modified two-step sintering.

Designation of Buildings in Urban Area of High-resolution Satellite Image Using Generalized Hough Transform

  • Analysis of high-resolution satellite image becomes important for cartography, surveillance, and remote sensing. However, there are lots of problems to be solved for automatic analysis of high-resolution satellite image especially in urban area. The problems are originated from the increased complexity due to the unnecessary details and shadows, and time-varying illuminations. Because of such obstacles, it seems impossible to make automatic analysis. This paper proposes a way of change detection of buildings in urban area by using digital vector map. The proposed way makes the buildings on the vector map parameterized, and searches them in the preprocessed high-resolution image by using generalized Hough transform. The searched building objects are overlaid on the satellite image. The overlaid image can help to detect the change of building rapidly.

Optimized Image-Based Surrogate Endpoints in Targeted Therapies for Glioblastoma: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Phase III Randomized Controlled Trials

  • Objective: We aimed to determine the optimized image-based surrogate endpoints (IBSEs) in targeted therapies for glioblastoma through a systematic review and meta-analysis of phase III randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Materials and Methods: A systematic search of OVID-MEDLINE and EMBASE for phase III RCTs on glioblastoma was performed in December 2017. Data on overall survival (OS) and IBSEs, including progression-free survival (PFS), 6-month PFS (6moPFS), 12-month PFS (12moPFS), median PFS, and objective response rate (ORR) were extracted. Weighted linear regression analysis for the hazard ratio for OS and the hazard ratios or odds ratios for IBSEs was performed. The associations between IBSEs and OS were evaluated. Subgroup analyses according to disease stage (newly diagnosed glioblastoma versus recurrent glioblastoma), types of test treatment, and types of response assessment criteria were performed. Results: Twenty-three phase III RCTs published between 2000 and 2017, including 8387 patients, met the inclusion criteria. OS showed strong correlations with PFS (standardized β coefficient [R] = 0.719), 6moPFS (R = 0.647), and 12moPFS (R = 0.638). OS showed no correlations with median PFS and ORR. In subgroup analysis according to types of therapies, PFS showed the highest correlations with OS in targeted therapies for cell cycle pathways (R = 0.913) and growth factor receptors and their downstream pathways (R = 0.962). 12moPFS showed the highest correlation with OS in antiangiogenic therapy (R = 0.821). The response assessment in neuro-oncology criteria provided higher correlation coefficients between OS and IBSEs than the Macdonald criteria. Conclusion: Overall, PFS is an optimized IBSE in targeted therapies for glioblastoma; however, 12moPFS is optimal in antiangiogenic therapy.

Two-Dimensional Sub-diffraction-limited Imaging by an Optimized Multilayer Superlens

  • An optimized multilayer superlens is designed, using a rigorous and efficient approach based on the method of moments (MoM) in conjunction with a simulated annealing (SA) algorithm. For the MoM solution, fast evaluation of closed-form Green's functions (GFs) in the spatial domain is performed by applying the complex-image (CI) technique, which obviates the time-consuming numerical evaluation of Sommerfeld integrals. The imaging capability of the superlens is examined with the correlation coefficient; results show that using circular polarization for the incident wave can improve this coefficient. To validate the proposed method, finite-element-based simulations are exploited, which reveal the method's accuracy and computational efficiency. Simulation results indicate that the designed structure is capable of producing two-dimensional sub-diffraction-limited images in the visible range, which may make it more versatile for practical applications. Finally, as a considerable finding, it is demonstrated for the proposed design that using circularly polarized illumination provides improved super-resolving performance, compared to linearly polarized illumination.

Synthesis of scheelite-type nanocolloidal particles by pulsed laser ablation in liquid and their size distribution analysis

  • A novel pulsed laser ablation process in liquid was investigated to prepare scheelite-type ceramic [calcium tungstate ($CaWO_4$) and calcium molybdate ($CaMoO_4$)] nanocolloidal particles. The crystalline phase, particle morphology, particle size distribution, absorbance and optical band-gap were investigated. Stable colloidal suspensions consisting of well-dispersed $CaWO_4$ and $CaMoO_4$ nanoparticles with narrow size distribution could be obtained without any surfactant. Particle tracking analysis using optical microscope combined with image analysis was applied for a fast determination of particle size distribution in the prepared nanocolloidal suspensions. The mean nanoparticle size of $CaWO_4$ and $CaMoO_4$ colloidal nanoparticles were 16 nm and 30 nm, with the standard deviations of 2.1 and 5.2 nm, respectively. The optical absorption edges showed blue-shifted values about 60~70 nm than those of reported in bulk crystals. And also, the estimated optical energy band-gaps of $CaWO_4$ and $CaMoO_4$ colloidal particles were 5.2 and 4.7 eV. The observed band-gap widening and blue-shift of the optical absorbance could be ascribed to the quantum confinement effect due to the very small size of the $CaWO_4$ and $CaMoO_4$ nanocolloidal particles prepared by pulsed laser ablation in liquid.

몰리브덴 (V) 와 1, 6-Diaminohexane-N, N, N', N'-tetraacetic Acid 계 착물합성과 그 성질 (Synthesis and Characterization of Molybdenum (V)-1, 6-Diaminohexane-N, N, N', N'-tetraacetic Acid Derivatives Complexes)

  • 피리디니움 옥소이소치오시안네이토 몰리브테이트(V)와 아민 카르복실기를 가진 1,2-Diaminohexane-N,N,N'-tetracetic acid 유도체를 반응시켜 아민 카르복실기를 가진 디옥소-디-뉴우-옥소-디몰리브테이트(V) 착물을 합성하였다. 이들에 대한 원소분석, 스펙트라의 해석 그리고, 전기전도도의 측정으로부터 착물의 성질과 그 구조를 추정하였다. 적외선 스펙트라에서 Mo=$O_t$ 신축진동에 기인한 두 개의 흡수띠가 $900-965cm^{-1}$ 영역에서 관찰되었으며, MoO$_2$Mo의 비대칭 신축진동 및 대칭 신축진동은 $740-765 cm^{-1}$, $450-500cm^{-1}$에서 각각 나타났었고, 카르복실기와 금속 결합간의 비대칭 신축 진동이 $1600-1635 cm^{-1}$에서 흡수띠가 관찰되었다. 이들 착물은 노란색 혹은 오렌지색이며 반자성체 물질이였다.

다중 참조 영상 움직임 추정을 위한 고속 전역탐색법 (A fast full search algorithm for multiple reference image motion estimation)

  • 본 논문은 다중 참조영상(multiple reference image)에 적용 가능한 새로운 고속 전역탐색 움직임 추정 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 기존의 비트율을 고려한 연속제거알고리즘(rate constrained successive elimination algorithm: RSEA)을 다중 참조영상에 확대 적용하는 방법이다. 첫 번째 참조영상에 대한 움직임 추정의 계산량에 비해 그 이후 참조영상에 대한 움직임 추정의 계산량이 적어질 수 있음을 보일 것이다. 계산량 감축을 위해, 본 논문에서 최적 움직임 벡터의 후보 블록의 개수를 감소시킬 수 있는 새로운 조건을 소개한다. 실험 결과을 통해 제안된 방법이 기존의 RSEA과 동일한 움직임 추정오차를 가지면서도 계산량을 감소시킴을 보일 것이다.
