  • This study reviews the properties of coastal ocean and Seomjin River estuary spaces then define some MGIS(Marine Geographic Information System) related terminologies for clarifying the scope of MGIS boundaries. Therefore, we show the three-dimensional circulation of MGIS-based Seomjin River Estuary integrating three-dimensional POM model and observed data.

  • The study of Mobile MGIS (Marine Geographic Information System) based on the Android Mobile Platform is mainly performed on effective methodologies which transform real world data to computing world data. Mobile GUI system has its own target on reliable data service by acquisition of geometric information using EFDC (Environmental Fluid Dynamics Code) Model, accurate measurement and graphical visualization. Even simple visualizations can aid in the interpretation of complex hydrodynamic relationships that are frequently encountered in the marine environment. The Mobile MGIS provides an easy way for hydrodynamics geoscientists to construct complex visualizations that can be viewed with free software. This study proposes a Mobile GUI MGIS using EFDC Model result of Seomjin River estuary. Finally, we design a Seomjin River estuarine Coastal Waters Mobile MGIS integrating above data models. It must adds more ecological information and the various service item for approach more easily in order to user.

  • 본 연구는 섬진강 하구역의 효율적이고 체계적인 해역환경관리를 위하여 해양관측데이터 및 수치모델링 자료 그리고 MGIS를 이용한 해역환경 DB 구축, 가시화, 체계화 및 SVG 언어를 이용한 MGIS기반 Web GUI 시스템을 구축하였다. 그 결과 섬진강 하구역의 물리해양학적 특성을 체계적으로 구현하여 파악할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • The study of Web MGIS(Marine Geographic Information System) based on the SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) is mainly performed on effective methodologies which transform real world data to computing world data. Web GUI system has its own target on reliable data service by acquisition of geometric information using HYCOM(HYbrid Coordinate Ocean Model), accurate measurement and graphical visualization. This type of raw data visualization can be built without software tools, yet is incredibly useful for interpreting and communicating data. Even simple visualizations can aid in the interpretation of complex hydrodynamic relationships that are frequently encountered in the marine environment. The Web MGIS provides an easy way for hydrodynamic geoscientists to construct complex visualizations that can be viewed with free software. This study proposes a Web GUI MGIS using FVCOM(Finite Volume Coastal Ocean Model). Finally, we design a Marine Web GUI system of Kosrae Coastal Waters integrating above data models. It must adds more ecological information and the various service item for approach more easily in order to user.

연안역통합관리를 위한 GIS 기반 해양정보학 (GIS-based Ocean Informatics for Integrated Coastal Management)

  • Recently development trends in information technology expand the activity boundaries for human living beyond coastal zones. These rapid changes of paradigm are stimulating scientists and strategists to be encouraged in making adequate model for marine geographic information system (MGIS) and their applications. Coastal zones are places which are affected by many factors, such as water quality, tide, wave, atmosphere, population, industry, etc. Therefore information related to the coast has to be integrated and analyzed for managing it efficiently. GIS-based Ocean Informatics is suited for those purposes and used in the study for establishing and managing coastal geographic and environmental information system. This paper reviews the properties of ocean and coastal spaces, then defines some MGIS related terminologies for clarifying the scope of MGIS boundaries. In this study, coastal geographic information is established by digital geographic information and digital terrain information. Digital coast chart having information on digital chart and map can merge and analyze various coastal information and can be a useful tool for the coastal integrated management.

MGIS 및 유전자 알고리즘을 활용한 정보자산 최적배치에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimal Allocation for Intelligence Assets Using MGIS and Genetic Algorithm)

  • The literature about intelligence assets allocation focused on mainly single or partial assets such as TOD and GSR. Thus, it is limited in application to the actual environment of operating various assets. In addition, field units have generally vulnerabilities because of depending on qualitative analysis. Therefore, we need a methodology to ensure the validity and reliability of intelligence asset allocation. In this study, detection probability was generated using digital geospatial data in MGIS (Military Geographic Information System) and simulation logic of BCTP (Battle Commander Training Programs) in the R.O.K army. Then, the optimal allocation mathematical model applied concept of simultaneous integrated management, which was developed based on the partial set covering model. Also, the proposed GA (Genetic Algorithm) provided superior results compared to the mathematical model. Consequently, this study will support effectively decision making by the commander by offering the best alternatives for optimal allocation within a reasonable time.

This type of raw data visualization can be built without software tools, yet is incredibly useful for interpreting and communicating data. Even simple visualizations can aid in the interpretation of complex 3D relationships that are frequently encountered in the geosciences. The Virtual Reality Modeling Language provides an easy way for geoscientists to construct complex visualizations that can be viewed with free software. This study propose a three dimensional Web GUI system using MGIS-based three dimensional data models and virtual imaging system. Finally, we design a Web GUI system integrating above data models.

ASTER영상을 이용한 고주파 필터에 의한 해안선 변화 분석 (The Change of Coastline through High Pass Filter using ASTER Images)

  • 본 연구는 ASTER영상을 이용한 해안선 변화에 관한 연구이다. ASTER영상은 1999년 12월에 일본에서 발사된 지구탐사위성에 탑재된 센서이다. ASTER 영상은 15m, 30m, 90m의 해상도와 VNIR, TIR, WIR의 3개의 센서를 가지고 있으나 비교적 영상이 저렴하다. 특히 다양한 파장대를 분포하고 있어 기존의 위성영상보다 지구상의 많은 정보의 획득이 가능하다. 해안선은 국지성이 강하므로 지형 형상에 따라서 변화하게 된다. 그리고 해양지리정보구축에서 가장 중요한 요소 중의 하나다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 ASTER 위성영상으로부터 해안선을 Vector Line으로 자동추출 후 변화량을 분석하였다. 연구결과는 향후 해안선 변화를 분석하는데 중요한 기초자료로 활용될 것이다.

Development of Ship Route Track System Based on Digital Sea Chart with the Capability of Precise Coordinate Analysis of GPS

  • For GIS to land and sea in Korea, GIS on land was almost completed with big cities by NGIS(National Geographic Information System) business. However, MGIS(Marine Geographic Information System) being constructed by the National Oceanographic Research Institute is still constructing geography information and definition of attribute information and real condition. We are being studied on research to get maximized the ripple effect linking GPS and Navigation techniques on GIS. GPS in accuracy is divided into navigation and precise surveying equipment. Now, GPS technology has been developed very much and low price GPS equipments are introducing. But expense on GPS equipment is high yet. Therefore, GPS equipment for navigation is used on cheap GPS equipment in a car or ship. In this paper, the author used algorithm to convert ellipsoid coordinate between WGS84 and Bessel ellipsoid and to analyze map projection between BESSEL ellipsoid and UTM plane coordinate system. And the author developed ship navigation system with cheap GPS equipment using algorithm of ellipsoid conversion and map projection. The author proposed the necessity on constructing MGIS to manage many ships.

우리나라 연안해역 해저정보에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Seabed Information of the Korean Coast)

  • 현재 우리나라는 육역에 대한 조사와 영해관리를 위한 조사는 이루어져 있으나 연안해역에 대한 해저정보조사는 부족한 실정이다. 비록 국토지리정보원은 1976년부터 연안 해역기본도를 제작 및 배포하고 있으나 갱신주기가 매우 길며, 소축척으로 제작하여 정확도가 낮다. 따라서 해양수산행정 서비스를 위한 기초 자료가 매우 부족한 실정이다. 그리고 NGIS와 MGIS(해양수산부에서 추진하고 있는 해양 GIS사업)와의 연계를 위해 해양 분야에 대한 국가기본지리정보 D/B를 구축하여 디지털 국토 완성할 필요성이 있다. 관련법규를 조사하여 연안해역 해저정보의 조사 필요성과 타당성에 대해 법적인 근거를 마련하였고, 과거 진행되어왔던 연안관련 사업에 대한 조사를 현재 제작되거나 제작중에 있는 자료의 종류와 정확도에 대해 조사하고, 이미 제작된 자료의 문제점에 대해분석 하였다. 효과적인 연안해역 해저정보조사를 위해 우리나라 연안을 아래 그림과 같이 10개 권역으로 구분하고, 이를 다시 7.5'x 7.5'의 소구역으로 구분한 후 각 소구역의 중요도에 따라서 등급을 부여하고, 각 등급별로 IHO S-44 기준의 관측정확도를 따르도록 하였다. 또한 자료조사항목을 선정하여 중요도가 높은 조사항목에 대해 우선적으로 조사할 수 있도록 하였다. 연안해역 해저정보에 대한 조사가 이루어지면 연안 행정 업무 효율성 증대되고 긴급상황에 대처한 신속한 의사결정 가능하며, 다양한 자료의 복합적인 분석 가능할 것이다. 또한 NGIS와 MGIS를 연계하여 많은 부가가치를 창출할 수 있을 것이라 예상된다.
