  • In this paper, a large-scale study on users' understanding of search-based advertising is presented. It is based on (1) a survey, (2) a task-based user study, and (3) an online experiment. Data were collected from 1,000 users representative of the German online population. Findings show that users generally lack an understanding of Google's business model and the workings of search-based advertising. 42% of users self-report that they either do not know that it is possible to pay Google for preferred listings for one's company on the SERPs or do not know how to distinguish between organic results and ads. In the task-based user study, we found that only 1.3 percent of participants were able to mark all areas correctly. 9.6 percent had all their identifications correct but did not mark all results they were required to mark. For none of the screenshots given were more than 35% of users able to mark all areas correctly. In the experiment, we found that users who are not able to distinguish between the two results types choose ads around twice as often as users who can recognize the ads. The implications are that models of search engine advertising and of information seeking need to be amended, and that there is a severe need for regulating search-based advertising.

  • A method which determines TRIGA Mark-III core power distribution by measuring fuel temperature is developed. The temperature measurement is performed by sweeping the already existing instrumented fuel elements which are loaded as an expedient of safe operation, and the number of fuel positions swept is 16. Experimental results are compared with those from computation using neutron diffusion theory. The maximum and standard deviations are 12 and 5%, respectively. It is confirmed that the estimation of rod power density of measuring fuel temperature is for more convenient than the conventional methods, and that it is proved to be very accurate as well.

  • This paper proposes an approach of automatically identifying the center of fiducial marks using radiometric and geometric characteristics of those marks existing on aerial photographs. Candidate region surrounding a mark, based on radiometric strategy, is determined by producing a bi-level image and by applying morphological operations. Based on geometric strategy, the central location of a mark is determined by applying ${\bigtriangledown}^G$ filtering and symmetry-enhancement filtering, and by finding peak location of symmetry. Evaluation with respect to 66 cases of sub-images containing a fiducial mark showed that the central location of the mark is determined up to around one pixel difference whit it is compared to a manual inspection.

  • In this paper, we describe the radio astronomical data processing system implementation using Mark5B and its development. KASI(Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute) is constructing the KVN (Korean VLBI Network) until the end of 2007, which is the first VLBI(Very Long Baseline Interferometery) facility in Korea and dedicated for the mm-wave VLBI observation. KVN will adopt the DAS (Data Acquisition System) consisting of digital filter with various function and 1Gsps high-speed sampler to digitize the radio astronomical data for analyzing on the digital filter system. And the analyzed data will be recorded to recorder up to 1Gbps data rates. To test this, we have implemented the system which is able to process 1Gbps data rates and carried out the data recording experiment.

  • A PC-based system for measuring and analysing random neutron process in the thermal reactor is developed and applied to TRIGA Mark-II reactor at KAERI. It is confirmed that this system has several advantages compared to conventional methods. So far, two techniques, autocorrelation and variance to mean ratio (VTMR), have been applied for analysing the count data collected from the single detector by using this system. The results of the two techniques agree within acceptable difference, but VTMR's results show much superior statistical reliability than those of autocorrelation especially when it is near critical. The $\beta$/Λ of TRIGA Mark-II reactor is measured to be about 125/sec when the reactivity is within -3$ and about 150/sec when it is below -4$.

  • At present the educational envelopment of our country was placed in the difficult situation that cannot help but coping with the situation positively and actively against a lot of change and the crisis inside and outside. By employing the UI(university Identity) or CI(College Identity) for the communication method to overcome the above present situation and to take a triangular position again, those are recognized that making an effort to amend or re-generate the present images is important in the management of college. But UI or CI are upright and have strong feeling on the specific character of college which is called as educational organization. And in its application, it shows weak point that cannot scope softly against the changing current of times by lack of adaptability. By congesting the restriction of conveyance of image and upright nature of such operation, and also by developing the Image Mark that can convey variety, affection and polished feeling, and further by conveying the future-oriented images aimed by college to the educational consumers closely and softly, it is to take the roils faithfully for the strengthening of competitive power of college. In addition, in order to convey college image softly and effectively and also utilize as a means of positive propaganda, character was developed together.

  • A variety of studies for indoor positioning are now being in progress due to the limit of GPS that becomes obsolete in the room. However, most of them are based on private wireless networks and the situation is difficult to commercialize them since they are expensive in terms of installation and maintenance costs, non-real-time, and not accurate. This paper applies the mark recognition algorithm used in existing augmented reality applications to the indoor vehicle positioning application. It installs floor marks on the ground, performs the perspective transformation on it and decodes the internal data of the mark and, as a result, it obtains an absolute coordinate. Through the geometric analysis, it obtains current position (relative coordinates) of a vehicle away from the mark and the heading direction of the vehicle. The experiment results show that when installing the marks every 5 meter, an error under about 30 cm occurred. In addition, it is also shown that the mark recognition rate is 43.2% of 20 frames per second at the vehicle speed of 20km/h. Thus, it is thought that this idea is commercially valuable.
