  • Let $R_{u{^2},v^2,w^2,p}$ be a finite non chain ring ${\mathbb{F}}_p[u,v,w]{\langle}u^2,\;v^2,\;w^2,\;uv-vu,\;vw-wv,\;uw-wu{\rangle}$, where p is a prime number. This ring is a part of family of Frobenius rings. In this paper, we explore the structures of cyclic codes over the ring $R_{u{^2},v^2,w^2,p}$ of arbitrary length. We obtain a unique set of generators for these codes and also characterize free cyclic codes. We show that Gray images of cyclic codes are 8-quasicyclic binary linear codes of length 8n over ${\mathbb{F}}_p$. We also determine the rank and the Hamming distance for these codes. At last, we have given some examples.

  • The ultrasonic images are corrupted by the granular pattern noise - a speckle noise. The speckle exist in the type of coherent imaging systems, and the speckle is the signal independent and multiplicative noise. In this paepr, we derive two filters using the gradient and symmetry. One is a noise suppression filter which removes noise while preserves the edges. It is named the ASRF-GS (Adaptive Speckle Removal Filer - Gradient and Symmetry). And the other is a edge detection filter which obtains the thin edge map, called the EDUGS(Edge Detection Using Gradient and Symmetry). The performance of the proposed noise suppression filter is evaluated by the IMPV(SNR improvement) and the Speckle Index(SI), and the perforamnce of the edge detection is evaluated by the edge detection error rate. According to the evaluated method, The SI reduced about 0.035, The IMPV improved about 1.265(dB), and the edge detection error rate is about 17.5%.

TR/TE=8000ms/71ms, Thickness/spacing=5/2mm, FOV=240mm, Matrix=$128{\times}128$, NEX= 1, b value=1000s/$\textrm{mm}^2$.

  • We study a dynamical system that was originally defined by Romik in 2008 using an old theorem of Berggren concerning Pythagorean triples. Romik's system is closely related to the Farey map on the unit interval which generates an additive continued fraction algorithm. We explore some number theoretical properties of the Romik system. In particular, we prove an analogue of Lagrange's theorem in the case of the Romik system on the unit quarter circle, which states that a point possesses an eventually periodic digit expansion if and only if the point is defined over a real quadratic extension field of rationals.

  • A simple finite element analysis is performed to simulate the thermal characteristics of a micro sensor package with thin film heater embedded in the glass wall of a micro-channel. In this paper, Electric characteristics of ITO sputtered heater were presented in this study, which can be used as a map of heater design in the range of available system temperature. The effects of thermo-physical properties of materials, geometrical structure and boundary condition on the thermal performance are also investigated. Finally, the design of micro-flow induced thermal sensor that is capable of measuring fluid flow with a lower flow detection limit of approximately 24pL/s is presented.

  • In this paper, we first show that for any space X, there is a ${\sigma}$-complete Boolean subalgebra of $\mathcal{R}$(X) and that the subspace {${\alpha}{\mid}{\alpha}$ is a fixed ${\sigma}Z(X)^{\sharp}$-ultrafilter} of the Stone-space $S(Z({\Lambda}_X)^{\sharp})$ is the minimal basically disconnected cover of X. Using this, we will show that for any countably locally weakly Lindel$\ddot{o}$f space X, the set {$M{\mid}M$ is a ${\sigma}$-complete Boolean subalgebra of $\mathcal{R}$(X) containing $Z(X)^{\sharp}$ and $s_M^{-1}(X)$ is basically disconnected}, when partially ordered by inclusion, becomes a complete lattice.

  • The yeast gene HOM3 encodes aspartokinase, which catalyses the first step (aspartate to and from beta-aspartyl phosphate) of common pathway to threonine and methionine. The yeast HOM3 gene expression is known to be regulated by threonine and methionine specific control, and also by general control of amino acid biosynthesis. Isolation and characterization of the HOM3 gene are essential for the molecular genetic study on its regulation of expression. A recombinant plasmid pSC3 (15.5kb, vector YCp50) has been cloned into E. coli HB101 from yeast genomic library through their complementing activity of HOM3 mutation in a yeast recipient strain M34-24B. Organization of the plasmid was characterized by delineation of restriction cleavage sites in the insert fragment.

  • We employ the methods of Lattice Dynamical System to establish a global model extending the Walrasian evolutionary cobweb model in an independent single local market to the global market evolution over an infinite chain of many local markets with interaction of each other through a diffusion of prices between them. For brevity of the model, we assume linear decreasing demands and logistic supplies with naive predictors, and investigate the traveling wave behaviors of global price dynamics and show that their dynamics are conjugate to those of H$\acute{e}$non maps and hence can exhibit complicated behaviors such as period-doubling bifurcations, chaos, and homoclic orbits etc.

  • API5 is a unique oncogenic, non-BIR type IAP nuclear protein and is up-regulated in several cancers. It exerts several functions, such as apoptosis inhibition, cell cycle progression, cancer immune escape, and anticancer drug resistance. Although structural studies of API have revealed that API5 mediates protein-protein interactions, its detailed molecular functions remain unknown. Since FGF2 is one of API5's major interacting proteins, structural studies of the API5-FGF2 complex will provide insight into both proteins' molecular function. We overexpressed and purified API5 and FGF2 in Escherichia coli and crystallized the API-FGF2 complex using polyethylene glycol (PEG) 6000 as a precipitant. Diffraction data were collected to a $2.7{\AA}$ resolution using synchrotron X-rays. Preliminary diffraction analysis revealed that the API5-FGF2 complex crystal belongs to the space group $P2_12_12_1$ with the following unit cell parameters: a = 46.862, b = 76.523, $c=208.161{\AA}$. One asymmetric unit with 49.9% solvent contains one API5-FGF2 complex. Molecular replacement calculation, using API5 and FGF2 coordinates, provided a clear electron density map for an API5-FGF2 complex.

  • Let G be a finite group, K a split field for G, and L a linear map from K[G] to K. In our paper, we first give sufficient and necessary conditions for Ker L and Ker L ∩ Z(K[G]), respectively, to be Mathieu-Zhao spaces for some linear maps L. Then we give equivalent conditions for Ker L to be Mathieu-Zhao spaces of K[G] in term of the degrees of irreducible representations of G over K if G is a finite Abelian group or G has a normal Sylow p-subgroup H and L are class functions of G/H. In particular, we classify all Mathieu-Zhao spaces of the finite Abelian group algebras if K is a split field for G.
