Multi-carrier demultiplexer/demodulator (MCDD) in an on-board processing (OBP) satellite used for digital multimedia services has two typical architectures according to the channel demultiplexing procedure: Multistage multi-carrier demultiplexer (M-MCD) or poly-phase fast Fourier transform (PPF). During the channel demultiplexing, phase and quantization errors influence the performance of MCDD; those errors affect the bit error rate (BER) performance of M-MCD and PPF differently. In this paper, we derive the phase error variances that satisfy the condition that M-MCD and PPF have the same signal to noise ratio according to quantization bits, and then, with these results, analyze the BER performances of M-MCD and PPF. The results provided here may be a useful reference for the selection of M-MCD or PPF in designing the MCDD in an OBP satellite communications system.

In this paper two theorems on generalised Meijer transform due to Banerjee [1, p. 433] defined by $${\varphi}_1(p)=\int\limits_{0}^{\infty}(2px)^{m-{\frac{1}{2}}_e-{\frac{1}{2}}pxn}{\varphi}({{\alpha},c;\;2px)f(x)dx$$, have been proved. Some interesting integrals involving hyper-geometric functions are evaluated by the application of theorems.

We propose a Bayesian model-based approach using a mixture of Dirichlet processes model with discrete wavelet transform, for curve clustering in the microarray data with time-course gene expressions.

In the present paper, we obtain two Theorems connecting the unified fractional integral operators and the Laplace transform. Due to the presence of a general class of polynomials, the multivariable H-function and general functions ${\theta}$ and ${\phi}$ in the kernels of our operators, a large number of (new and known) interesting results involving simpler polynomials (which are special cases of a general class of polynomials) and special functions involving one or more variables (which are particular cases of the multivariable H-function) obtained by several authors and hitherto lying scattered in the literature follow as special cases of our findings. Thus the Theorems obtained by Srivastava et al. [9] follow as simple special cases of our findings.

In resent years, aided by the power and capability of digital computation, the techniques of Walsh Transform have been exploited for applications in commun- ication and signal processing. This paper presents an approach of FWT by using a 16- bit word-length micro- computer. This FWT implements an in-placed decimation-in-sequency algorithm which improves processing speed and memory storage. Several examples illustrate the process and demonstrate the power spectrum of FWT and that of FFT for the waveforms

Small PACS based on a personal computer or CR has initially been designed to improve the performance of cost-effective PACS implementation. In that system, Wavelet compression scheme is newly adopted to store images hierarchically to storage unit, and retrieve and display images progressively or display workstation. In this compression method, image is decomposed into subclasses of image by wavelet transform, and then the subclasses of image are vector quantized using a multiresolution codebook.

In this paper, a new folding algorithm for design of high density PLA's is proposed. This algorithm generates transform matrix so that programmed region of each row becomes narrow. Based on transform matrix, folding pair is selected. In the process of generating transform matrix, interval degree and dense degree are used to improve folding ratio. This paper also proposes an efficient folding pair graph which has short time of selection folding pair. This proposed algorithm is named PLAFOLII and implemented in C language on VAX-11/750 (UNIX) computer. Through various example, efficiency of this algorithm is verified.

We exhibit some properties of the weighted Berezin transform T_αf on L^∞(B_n) and on L¹(B_n). As the main result, we prove that if f ∈ L^∞(B_n) with lim_k→∞ T^k_αf exists, then there exist unique M-harmonic function g and $h{\in}{\bar{(I-T_{\alpha})L^{\infty}(B_n)}}$ such that f = g + h. We also show that of the norm of weighted Berezin operator T_α on L¹(B_n, ν) converges to 1 as α tends to infinity, where ν is an ordinary Lebesgue measure.
