In this paper, we show some results on the artinianness of local cohomology modules with respect to a system of ideals. If M is a 𝚽-minimax ZD-module, then H^{dim M}_𝚽(M)/𝖆H^{dim M}_𝚽(M) is artinian for all 𝖆 ∈ 𝚽. Moreover, if M is a 𝚽-minimax ZD-module, t is a non-negative integer and Hⁱ_𝚽(M) is minimax for all i > t, then Hⁱ_𝚽(M) is artinian for all i > t.

Articles on fashion of major daily newspapers for about one years after I.M.F. system were analyzed. The influence of I.M.F. system, values, the importance of costumes at economic crisis were studied through fashion at that time. The major conclusions of the study are as follows : 1. Costumes made in Korea, national brands In Korean words, practical styles, multi-functional design, economic tastes and mixed fashions were emphasized. 2. The sound and patriotic values were pursued through domestic fashion and creative ideas were developed to overcome economic crisis. 3. The meaning of costumes was still important under shrink of consumption. Costumes were useful tools to estimate ability and express aesthetic appreciation. The sound fashion trends under I.M.F. system reflect the reflection on overconsume and the will to overcome economic crisis. Such trends should be fixed for the establishment of economic prosperity for the nation.

본 논문해서는 m-커머스의 대표적인 성공 사례로 꼽히고 있는 NTT DoCOMo의 i-mode 서비스에 초점을 맞추어 성공요인과 그러한 성공을 이끌어 내는데 결정적인 역할을 담당한 웹 페이지 기술언어에 대해 살펴보았다. 분석 결과에 근거하면, i-mode 서비스의 대대적인 성공은 끊임없이 Positive Feedback의 계기를 만들어 냄으로써 가능하게 되었는데, 그것은 다름 아닌 C-HTML이라는 웹페이지 기술언어의 채용이 많은 역할을 하고 있다.

We show that a strong system of derivations ${D_0, D_1,\cdots,D_m}$ on a commutative Banach algebra A is contained in the radical of A if it satisfies one of the following conditions for separating spaces; (1) $\partial(D_i) \subseteq rad(A) and \partial(D_i) \subseteq K D_i(rad(A))$ for all i, where $K D_i(rad(A)) = {x \in rad(A))$ : for each $m \geq 1, D^m_i(x) \in rad(A)}$. (2) $(D^m_i) \subseteq rad(A)$ for all i and m. (3) $\bar{x\partial(D_i)} = \partial(D_i)$ for all i and all nonzero x in rad(A).

Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring, ${\Phi}$ a system of ideals of R and $I{\in}{\Phi}$. In this paper among other things we prove that if M is finitely generated and $t{\in}\mathbb{N}$ such that the R-module $H^i_{\Phi}(M)$ is $FD_{{\leq}1}$ (or weakly Laskerian) for all i < t, then $H^i_{\Phi}(M)$ is ${\Phi}$-cofinite for all i < t and for any $FD_{{\leq}0}$ (or minimax) submodule N of $H^t_{\Phi}(M)$, the R-modules $Hom_R(R/I,H^t_{\Phi}(M)/N)$ and $Ext^1_R(R/I,H^t_{\Phi}(M)/N)$ are finitely generated. Also it is shown that if cd I = 1 or $dimM/IM{\leq}1$ (e.g., $dim\;R/I{\leq}1$) for all $I{\in}{\Phi}$, then the local cohomology module $H^i_{\Phi}(M)$ is ${\Phi}$-cofinite for all $i{\geq}0$. These generalize the main results of Aghapournahr and Bahmanpour [2], Bahmanpour and Naghipour [6, 7]. Also we study cominimaxness and weakly cofiniteness of local cohomology modules with respect to a system of ideals.

Introduced in this paper is one of the most remarkable Ottoman institutions, the Ottoman Palace School-Enderun, with a focus on the life story of Matrak$\c{c}{\i}$ Nasuh, one of its most noted graduates and teachers. Matrak$\c{c}{\i}$ Nasuh's life and work as a prominent mathematician and a teacher of mathematics are investigated as a case study. It shows how young boys and girls were selected because of their academic potential, brought to Istanbul, and educated in Enderun to serve the Empire. This research articulates the mathematics education on the first institutionalized gifted education system of the world and discusses its implications for today.

Three pilot-scale membrane systems were operated using lake water as influent in this study. Microfiltration (MF) membrane with pore size of 0.01 m was used in Systen I of which filtration mode was set at constant pressure of $1kgf/cm^2$. Ultrafiltration (UF) membranes with molecular cutoff (MWCO) of 80,000 and 13,000 were used in System II-1 and II-2, respectively. Constant flow mode was applied at the range between 0.7 and $1.5m^3/m^2{\cdot}d$ (average of $1.1m^3/m^2${\cdot}d) for System II-1 and between 0.37 and $1.65m^3/m^2{\cdot}d$ (average of $1.18m^3/m^2{\cdot}d$) for System II-2. In System I, the flux changed from $1m^3/m^2{\cdot}d$ to $0.2m^3/m^2{\cdot}d$ during the operation time of 5 months. System II showed recovery of 94% under the allowable maximum pressure of $3kgf/cm^2$ during the same operation period. From these results, the efficient operation was observed in constant flow mode with respect to filtration time and recovery. Average filtrate turbidity showed 0.0071 NTU in System I and 0.0054 NTU in System II, which implied that high turbidity removal was obtained in both MF and UF systems with no significant difference between MF and UF. From the fact that membrane flux depends largely on membrane type and operation mode, a guideline of optimum design and operation should be suggested for application of membrane systems to full scale water treatment.

The baculovirus expression system is a powerful method for producing large amounts of the human erythrocyte-type glucose transport protein, heterologously. Characterization of the expressed protein is expected to show its ability to transport sugars directly. To achieve this, it is a prerequisite to know the properties of the endogenous sugar transport system in Spodoptera frugiperda Clone 21 (Sf21) cells, which are commonly employed as a host permissive cell line to support the baculovirus replication. The Sf21 cells can grow well on TC-100 medium that contains 0.1% D-glucose as the major carbon source, strongly suggesting the presence of endogenous glucose transport system. However, unlike the human glucose transport protein that has a broad substrate and inhibitor specificity, very little is known about the nature of the endogenous sugar transport system in Sf21 cells. In order to characterize further the inhibitor recognition properties of the Sf21 cell transporter, the ability of phloretin, cytochalasin B and D-fructose to inhibit 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2dGlc) transport was examined by measuring inhibition constants $(K_i)$. The $K_i's$ for reversible inhibitors were determined from plots of uptake versus inhibitor concentration. The 2dGlc transport in the Sf21 cells was very potently inhibited by phloretin, the aglucone of phlorizin with a $K_i$ similar to the value of about $2{\mu}M$ reported for inhibition of glucose transport in human erythrocytes. However, the Sf21 cell transport system was found to differ from the human transport protein in being much less sensitive to inhibition by cytochalasin B (apparent $K_i$ approximately $10\;{\mu}M$). In contrast, It is reported that the inhibitor binds the human erythrocyte counterpart with a $K_d$ of approximately $0.12\;{\mu}M$. Interestingly, the Sf21 glucose transport system also appeared to have high affinity for D-fructose with a $K_i$ of approximately 5mM, contrasting the reported $K_m$ of the human erythrocyte transport protein for the ketose of 1.5M.

A search for hot and bright white dwarfs (WDs) in the Milky Way globular clusters M13 (NGC 6205) and M22 (NGC 6656) is carried out using the deep and homogeneous V I photometric catalog of Anderson et al. and and Sarajedini et al., based on data taken with the ACS/WFC aboard the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). V versus V − I color-magnitude diagrams (CMDs) of M13 and M22 are constructed and numerous spurious detections are rejected according to their photometric quality parameters qfit(V ) and qfit(I). In the case of M13, further radial restriction is applied to reject central stars with higher photometric errors due to central crowding. From each resultant V versus V −I CMD, sixteen and thirteen WD candidates are identified in M13 and M22, respectively. They are identified as stellar objects in the accompanying ACS/WFC images and are found to be randomly distributed across the central regions of M13 and M22. Their positions in the CMDs are in the bright part of the DA WD cooling sequences indicating that they are true WDs. In order to confirm their nature, follow-up spectroscopic observations are needed.

This paper proposed a new equivalent circuit and parameter estimation for I.M, which is different from T type and L type equivalent circuits. By using this circuit, we can analyze the torque of I.M, such as seperately exited D.C Motor, further more, we think that this equivalent circuit is effective to the vector control system for I.M.
