수원지역 분진의 입경별 이온성분 분포특성에 관한 연구 (Characteristics of Ionic Components in Size-resolved Particulate Matters in Suwon Area)

  • The main purpose of this study was to investigate air quality trends of ambient aerosol with obtaining size-fractionated information. The suspended particulate matters were continuously collected on membrane filters and glass fiber filters by an 8-stage cascade impactor for 2 years (Sep. 2005 $\sim$ Sep. 2007) in Kyung Hee University-Global Campus. 8 ionic species ($Na^+$, ${NH_4}^+$, $K^+$, $Mg^{2+}$, $Ca^{2+}$, $Cl^-$, ${NO_3}^-$, and ${SO_4}^{2-}$) were analyzed by an IC after performing proper pretreatments of each sample filter. The average concentration levels of each ion were $9.24{\mu}g/m^3$ of ${SO_4}^{2-}$, $7.35{\mu}g/m^3$ of ${NO_3}^-$, $2.81{\mu}g/m^3$ of ${NH_4}^+$, $2.11{\mu}g/m^3$ of $Ca^{2+}$, $1.65{\mu}g/m^3$ of $Cl^-$, $1.87{\mu}g/m^3$ of $Na^+$, $0.80{\mu}g/m^3$ of $Mg^{2+}$, and $0.54{\mu}g/m^3$ of $K^+$, respectively. The distribution pattern of $Na^+$, $Mg^{2+}$, $Ca^{2+}$, $Cl^-$, and ${NO_3}^-$ was bi-modal and two peaks appeared in the range of $0.4{\sim}0.7{\mu}m$ and $3.3{\sim}4.7{\mu}m$, respectively. On the other hand, ${SO_4}^{2-}$, ${NH_4}^+$, and $K^+$ showed patterns of uni-modal distribution, mostly abounded in the fine mode group.

  • We consider zero range processes with density dependent jump rates g given by $g=g(n,k)=g_1(n)g_2(k/n)$ with $g_1(x)=x^{-\alpha}$ and $$g_2(x)=\{^{x^{-\alpha}\;if\;a&lt;x}_{Mx^{-\alpha}\;if\;x{\leq}a}$$. (0.1) In this case, with 1/2 < a < 1 and ${\alpha}$ > 0, we show that non-complete condensation occurs with maximum cluster size an. More precisely, for any ${\epsilon}$ > 0, there exists $M^*$ > 0 such that, for any 0 < M ${\leq}M^*$, the maximum cluster size is between (a - ${\epsilon}$)n and (a + ${\epsilon}$)n for large n. This provides a simple example of non-complete condensation under perturbation of rates which are deep in the range of perfect condensation (e.g. ${\alpha}$ >> 1) and supports the instability of the condensation transition.

  • We analyze an M/G/1 queueing system under $P_{\lambda,\tau}^M$ service policy. By using the level crossing theory and solving the corresponding integral equations, we obtain the stationary distribution of the workload in the system explicitly.

참죽나무 새순 추출물의 항산화 활성과 미백 작용에 관한 연구 (Antioxidant Activity and Whitening Effect of Cedrela sinensis A. Juss Shoots Extracts)

  • 본 연구에서는 참죽나무 새순 추출물의 항산화 효능과 tyrosinase 저해 활성을 측정함으로써 기능성 화장품에서의 이용 가능성을 평가하였다. 참죽나무 새순 추출물의 free radical (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl, DPPH) 저해활성($FSC_{50}$)은 ethyl acetate 분획($3.54\;{\mu}g/mL$)과 aglycone 분획($2.15\;{\mu}g/mL$) 모두 지용성 항산화제인 (+)-$\alpha$-tocopherol ($8.98\;{\mu}g/mL$)에 비해 우수한 활성을 나타내었다. 또한 luminol 화학발광법을 이용한 $Fe^{3+}$-EDTA/$H_2O_2$ 계에서 생성된 활성산소종(reactive oxygen species, ROS)에 대한 참죽나무 추출물의 총항산화능은 추출물의 ethyl acetate 분획($0.15\;{\mu}g/mL$)과 aglycone 분획($0.12\;{\mu}g/mL$)에서 모두 L-ascorbic acid ($1.50\;{\mu}g/mL$) 보다 약 10배 더 큰 것으로 나타내었다. Rose-bengal로 증감된 사람 적혈구의 광용혈에 대한 참죽나무 새순 추출물의 억제 효과를 측정하였을때 ethyl acetate 분획과 aglycone 분획 모두 농도 의존적($5{\sim}25\;{\mu}g/mL$)으로 세포보호 효과를 나타내었다. Tyrosinase의 활성 저해 효과($IC_{50}$)는 참죽나무 새순 추출물의 ethyl acetate 분획과 aglycon 분획에서 각각 $48.00\;{\mu}g/mL$, $5.88\;{\mu}g/mL$으로 나타났으며 aglycone 분획의 경우 강력한 미백제인 arbutin ($226.88\;{\mu}g/mL$)에 비해 약 40배정도 더 우수한 활성을 갖는다. 이상의 결과들은 참죽나무 새순 추출물이 활성산소종을 소거하고 활성산소종에 대항하여 세포막을 보호함으로써 생체계, 특히 태양 자외선에 의해 손상된 피부에서 항산화제로서 작용할 수 있음을 가리키며, tyrosinase 저해활성으로부터 미백 기능성 화장품원료로서 응용 가능성이 있음을 시사한다.

  • For a connected graph G = (V,E) of order at least two, a set S of vertices of G is a monophonic set of G if each vertex v of G lies on an x - y monophonic path for some elements x and y in S. The minimum cardinality of a monophonic set of G is the monophonic number of G, denoted by m(G). Certain general properties satisfied by the monophonic sets are studied. Graphs G of order p with m(G) = 2 or p or p - 1 are characterized. For every pair a, b of positive integers with $2{\leq}a{\leq}b$, there is a connected graph G with m(G) = a and g(G) = b, where g(G) is the geodetic number of G. Also we study how the monophonic number of a graph is affected when pendant edges are added to the graph.

수입산 관상어로부터 분리된 tetracycline 내성 Aeromonas spp.에 tet(M) 및 tet(G) 유전자의 특성 분석 (Characterization of tet(M) and tet(G) Genes among Tetracycline-resistant Aeromonas spp. Isolated from Imported Ornamental Fishes)

  • In this study, the molecular structures of tet(M) and tet(G) carried by tetracycline (Tc) resistant bacteria in intestinal microflora from the imported ornamental fish were characterized and compared with each other depend on the imported countries. Of the total isolates, approximately 8.9% of the Ent-lac+(lactose fermentative bacteria on coliform media) Tc resistant isolates in fish from three different countries, Singapore, Taiwan and Brazil, were appeared to contain tet(M). Three representative isolates of different countries, Aeromonas spp. JSM-1 (Singapore), JTM-1 (Taiwan) and JBM-1 (Brazil), were isolated and analyzed the molecular structures of tet(M) gene. Interestingly, partial sequence of tet(M) genes (1099 bp) in JBM-1 (Brazil) showed 99.5% homology with the tet(M) found in the Vibrio spp. RV16 isolate, obtained from marine fish in Korea and known to carry Tn1545 parent type of tet(M). In contrast, tet(M) gene in JSM-1 and JTM-1 showed mosaic structure of Tn1545 and Tn916, and 100% homology with each other. It may suggest the presence of various characteristics in terms of tet(M) gene structure. The determined sequence of the tet(G) from Aeromonas spp. JSG-1 and JBG-1 isolated from Singapore and Indonesia ornamental fish respectively showed similar nucleotide sequence homology but revealed a few nucleotide changes in comparison with the sequence of the prototype tet(G) gene (S52437 in GenBank).

  • 이 논문은 에지나 정점, 혹은 모두에 고장이 있는 이중 루프 네트워크의 해밀톤 성질을 고려한다. 이중 루프 네트워크 G(mn;1,m)은 m$\times$m 그리드 그래프에 에지를 추가한 4-정규 그래프이다. m 과 n 이 모두 짝수인 이중 루프 네트워크 G(mn;1,m)은 고장난 요소(에지와 정점)의 수가 1이하인 경우에 해밀톤 연결되어 있고, 고장난 요소의 수가 2 이하인 경우에 항상 해밀톤 사이클을 가짐을 보인다.

삼지구엽초로부터 분리한 Icariin의 생리활성 (Biological Activities of Isolated Icariin from Epimedium koreanum Nakai)

  • 본 연구는 삼지구엽초의 기능성 식품학적 이용성 증진을 위한 기초적인 연구로써 우리나라 산야에서 존재하며 예로부터 약용으로 이용되고 있는 삼지구엽초의 주요성분인 icariin을 분리하여 생리활성을 검토하였다. 에탄올로 추출한 삼지구엽초를 극성이 다른 용매인 에틸아세테이트, 부탄올, 헥산, 물, 클로로포름 층으로 분리하여, icariin의 함량을 측정한 결과 각각 27.9, 2.5, 1.7, 1.4, 1.3 ${\mu}g/g$이었고, icariin 수율이 가장 많은 에틸아세테이트 분획물로부터 정제한 icariin 수율은 295.5 ${\mu}g/g$이었으며 대부분 에틸아세테이트에서 용출되는 것을 확인하였다. 용매별 분획물의 항산화효과는 에틸아세테이트 분획층에서 49.0 ${\mu}g/mL$로 가장 높았으며, 부탄올(59.2 ${\mu}g/mL$), 헥산(119.8 ${\mu}g/mL$), 물(122.0 ${\mu}g/mL$), 클로로포름(138.5 ${\mu}g/mL$) 층의 순으로 나타났으며, 정제된 icariin(15.3 ${\mu}g/mL$)은 대조구인 ascorbic acid (19.5 ${\mu}g/mL$), ${\alpha}$-tocopherol(18.2 ${\mu}g/mL$)보다 다소 높은 활성을 나타내었다. Salmonella Typhimurium을 이용한 돌연변이 및 항돌연변이성에 미치는 영향을 조사한 결과, 삼지구엽초에서 분리한 icariin은 TA98과 TA100세포 모두에서 돌연변이성을 나타내지 않았다. 인간면역세포인 B세포와 T세포에서의 면역활성시험을 측정한 결과, icariin은 대조구보다 B세포에서 1.27배, T세포에서 1.28배의 비교적 높은 면역증강활성을 나타내었다. 이러한 결과는 삼지구엽초를 이용한 기능성식품 및 식품재료로서의 이용성 증진을 위한 기초 자료로 제공될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

부하량에 제한이 있는 M/G/1 시스템의 근사법 (An Approximation of the M/G/1 System with Finite Workload Capacity)

  • We propose an approximation of the M/G/1 system with finite workload capacity, where those customers whose admission to the system would increase the workload beyond a prespecified finite capacity limit are not accepted. Our approximation method is based on the idea that the service time of a customer in the M/G/1 system can be approximated as the sum of service times of a batch of customers in the $M^X/d/1$ system where the deterministic service time d is small enough. That is, the original service time is discretized and approximated by the batch size. We exemplified our method by obtaining the average workload of the M/M/1 system by means of the $M^X/d/1$ system, where the batch size is geometric. In addition, the approximate blocking probabilities of the M/M/1 and $M/E_k/1$ system with finite workload capacities are sought. The proposed method turns out to give a good approximation, which is compared with a simulation.

Low-dose of Ultraviolet radiation-, Ethyl methanesulfonateor Bleomycin-lnduced Adaptive Response in Chinese hamster ovary Cells

  • The adaptive response and cross-adaptive response to sister chromatid exchanges (SCEs) and DNA single-strand breaks (SSBs) in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO)-K$_1$ cells treated with ultraviolet radiation (UV), ethyl methanesuffonate (EMS), or bleomycin (BLM) were investigated. Two assays were used in this study; SCEs and alkaline elution. The pretreatment with low conditioning dose of 2 mM EMS or 1 J/m$^2$ UV decreased the yield of SCEs induced by subsequent treatment with 8 mM EMS, 5 J/m$^2$ UV or 5 $\mu$g/ml BLM. And the pretreatment with low conditioning dose of 1 $\mu$g/ml BLM decreased the yield of SCEs induced by subsequent treatment with 5 $\mu$g/ml BLM or 5 J/m$^2$ UV. The rejoining of DNA SSBs in cells subsequently treated with 2 J/m$^2$ UV, 50 mM EMS or 400 $\mu$g/ml BLM is higher than that only treated with 2 J/m$^2$ UV, 50 mM EMS or 400 $\mu$g/ml BLM. These results suggest that there are the adaptive response and cross-adaptive response to SCEs, and is the adaptive response to the rejoining of DNA SSBs in CHO cells.
