MEMS형 자세측정장치를 이용한 고속 기동 무인 잠수정 자율 조종 제어기에 대한 HILS (Hardware in Loop Simulation on Autopilot Controller with MEMS AHRS for High Speed Unmanned Underwater Vehicle)

  • Unmanned underwater vehicles have many applications in scientific, military, and commercial areas because of their autonomy. In many cases, an underwater vehicle adopts a control algorithm based on a tactical inertial sensor for precise control. However, a control algorithm that uses a tactical inertial sensor is unsuitable for some underwater vehicle missions such as torpedo decoys. This paper proposes a control algorithm for an unmanned underwater vehicle that does not require precise control. The control algorithm proposed for an unmanned underwater vehicle adopts a low cost MEMS inertial sensor, and simulations using the specifications of the MEMS inertial sensor under development are performed to verify the control algorithm under a real environment. The results of these simulations are presented.

  • 본 논문은 이동로봇을 위한 위치 및 물체인식용 지능형 센서 제어 시스템에 대해 기술한다. 개발된 센서시스템은 저가의 광PSD(Position sensitive detector)를 사용하였다. PSD센서는 저가이고, 가볍다는 장점이 있지만 많은 noise를 갖고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 noise를 효과적으로 제거하기 위해 hardware filter와 software filter를 제안한다. 또한 선분기반 map building을 위해 개선된 Hough transform 알고리즘과 이동로봇의 실내 환경에서의 navigation 알고리즘을 제안한다. 개발된 시스템은 실험을 통해 증명하였다.

  • Image Signal Processor(ISP)의 한 블록인 Auto Exposure(AE)는 입력 영상의 밝기가 전체적으로 어둡거나 밝으면 적정 밝기로 조절하여 적당한 평균 밝기를 유지하는 기능을 한다. 하지만 AE는 영상의 전체 평균 밝기만 조절하기 때문에 영상의 명암대비 향상까지 기대하기는 어렵다. 특히 물체 인식이 필요한 분야에서는 ISP의 AE 만으론 명암대비가 낮은 영상에서는 물체 인식이 어려워져 명암대비 향상 기술이 필요하다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 ISP의 AE를 대체할 방법으로 Histogram Equalization(HE)를 제안한다. 또한 기존의 HE 문제점을 간단한 연산만으로 보완하고 하드웨어 구현에도 적합한 방법을 제안한다.

  • In China, the traditional method of artificial and periodical cruise is still adopted for the AtoN management, which has brought many disadvantages to the work of the AtoN management, such as non real-time, fallibility, and low efficiency However, with the rapid development of AIS technique, now AIS equipments have been widely installed on ships, and on the other hand China Maritime Safety Administration (abr. China MSA) is carrying out the scheme of AIS base station network in china, based on which the digital AtoN will develop in the future. According to what have been analyzed above, this paper puts forward a design of AtoN wireless surveillance system based on AIS. The system consists of AIS on AtoN, AIS base station and AtoN management center. It can provide such functions as the information gathering, managing of AtoN and the service of navigation assistance. This paper gives the whole design including the work theory, the hardware structure and the software scheme of the system, and finally gives the simulation software of the AtoN management center. The AtoN wireless surveillance system brought forward by this paper will be more efficient with less repair cost and less work of the supervisors. It will bring revolutionary progress in the navigation aids system in China.

  • 현대의 조직들은 각 부서별로 응용프로그램 서버, 웹 서버, 데이터베이스 서버, 메일 서버 등과 같은 수많은 서버들을 보유하고 있다. 이로 인한 서버 과다보유는 이제 공공기관과 사기업을 막론하고 정보시스템 센터에서는 일반화된 현상이다. 서버 과다보유는 단일 응용프로그램만을 지원하는 전용서버의 도입이 주요 원인이며, 이로 인해 낮은 자원 활용률, 대규모 공간 사용, 높은 관리비용 등과 같은 문제가 발생하는데, 하드웨어, 소프트웨어, 유지보수비용, 설비, 인건비 등의 절감을 통해 이러한 문제를 해결해 줄 수 있는 서버통합이 그 해결책이다. 본 연구에서는 재난관리시스템의 사례연구를 통해 공공기관의 서버통합 기법을 제안하였다.

  • Photovoltaic(PV) power generation system [1-2] has been extensively studied and watched with keen interest as a clean and renewable power source. So hardware and software studies strongly indicate the feasibility of commercially producing a low cost, user-friendly solar cell curve tracer. Generally, V-I curve tracer indicates only the commonly used solar cell parameters. However, with the conventional V-I curve tracer it is almost impossible to abstract the more detail parameters of solar cell ; A, Rs, and Rsh, which satisfies the user, who aims at the analysis of the development PV power generation system; advanced simulation.   • 본 논문은 텔레메틱스 단말용 음성인식을 위한 음성향상 단일 칩 알고리듬을 제시한다. 제안된 방법은 잡음제거와 에코제거의 두 단계로 구성되어 있으며, 첫 단계로 크로스 스펙트럼 추정에 기반한 적응필터를 통해 에코를 제거하고, 두번째 단계로 Generalized Gamma분포기반의 LSA 음성추정 방식 추정을 통해 외부 배경잡음을 제거하여 음성의 음질을 향상시킨다. 적은 계산량이 요구되는 제안된 알고리즘을 토대로 구현된 단일 칩의 성능은 다양한 잡음환경에서 신호 대잡음비율과 음성인식 평가에서 기존의 방법보다 향상된 결과를 나타내었다.

A Novel Spiking Neural Network for ECG signal Classification

  • The electrocardiogram (ECG) is one of the most extensively employed signals used to diagnose and predict cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). In recent years, several deep learning (DL) models have been proposed to improve detection accuracy. Among these, deep neural networks (DNNs) are the most popular, wherein the features are extracted automatically. Despite the increment in classification accuracy, DL models require exorbitant computational resources and power. This causes the mapping of DNNs to be slow; in addition, the mapping is challenging for a wearable device. Embedded systems have constrained power and memory resources. Therefore full-precision DNNs are not easily deployable on devices. To make the neural network faster and more power-efficient, spiking neural networks (SNNs) have been introduced for fewer operations and less complex hardware resources. However, the conventional SNN has low accuracy and high computational cost. Therefore, this paper proposes a new binarized SNN which modifies the synaptic weights of SNN constraining it to be binary (+1 and -1). In the simulation results, this paper compares the DL models and SNNs and evaluates which model is optimal for ECG classification. Although there is a slight compromise in accuracy, the latter proves to be energy-efficient.

Radiation tolerance of a small COTS single board computer for mobile robots

  • As robotics become more sophisticated, there are a growing number of generic systems being used for routine tasks in nuclear environments to reduce risk to radiation workers. The nuclear sector has called for more commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) devices and components to be used in preference to nuclear specific hardware, enabling robotic operations to become more affordable, reliable, and abundant. To ensure reliable operation in nuclear environments, particularly in high-gamma facilities, it is important to quantify the tolerance of electronic systems to ionizing radiation. To deliver their full potential to end-users, mobile robots require sophisticated autonomous behaviors and sensing, which requires significant computational power. A popular choice of computing system, used in low-cost mobile robots for nuclear environments, is the UP Core single board computer. This work presents estimates of the total ionizing dose that the UP Core running the Robot Operating System (ROS) can withstand, through gamma irradiation testing using a Co-60 source. The units were found to fail on average after 111.1 ± 5.5 Gy, due to faults in the on-board power management circuitry. Its small size and reasonable radiation tolerance make it a suitable candidate for robots in nuclear environments, with scope to use shielding to enhance operational lifetime.

태양광 모듈형 전력조절기를 위한 양방향 벅-부스트 포워드 컨버터 (Bi-Directional Buck-Boost Forward Converter for Photovoltaic Module type Power Conditioning System)

  • This paper proposes an energy storage-assisted, series-connected module-integrated power conversion system that integrates a photovoltaic power conditioner and a charge balancing circuit. In conventional methods, a photovoltaic power conditioner and a cell-balancing circuit are needed for photovoltaic systems with energy storage devices, but they cause a complex configuration and high cost. Moreover, an imbalanced output voltage of the module-integrated converter for PV panels can be a result of partial shading. Partial shading can lead to the fault condition of the boost converter in shaded modules and high voltage stresses on the devices in other modules. To overcome these problems, a bidirectional buck-boost converter with an integrated magnetic device operating for a charge-balancing circuit is proposed. The proposed circuit has multiple secondary rectifiers with inductors sharing a single magnetic core, which works as an inductor for the main bidirectional charger/discharger of the energy storage. The secondary rectifiers operate as a cell-balancing circuit for both energy storage and the series-connected multiple outputs of the module-integrated converter. The operating principle of the cell-balancing power conversion circuit and the power stage design are presented and validated by PSIM simulation for analysis. A hardware prototype with equivalent photovoltaic modules is implemented for verification. The results verify that the modularized photovoltaic power conversion system in the output series with an energy storage successfully works with the proposed low-cost bidirectional buck-boost converter comprising a single magnetic device.
