This study analyzed analyzes the energy performance of six houses in Daejeon completed which were built in 2011. Observed The observed houses, which were all designed and constructed inof the same size and structure, are were highly insulated with triple Low-E coating windows; the insulation level of the walls is was $0.13W/m^2K$ and that of the roof is was $0.10W/m^2K$. As electric houses, all of the energy supplied to the houses, including for cooking, is was supplied by electricity. A and 3~4 kWp of photovoltaic system and a 3~5 kW of ground source heat pump (GSHP) were installed in each house tofor providing provide space heating/and cooling and hot water are installed. We constructed a Web-based remote monitoring system in order to understand energy consumption and the dynamic behavior of the energy system. T, and the results of our metering data analysis of 2013 are as follows. First, the annual residential energy consumption is was 4,400 kWh (${\sigma}=1,209$) and GSHP energy consumption is was 5,182 kWh (${\sigma}=1,164$). Second, residential energy consumption ranked highest in average energy usage, with at 45% of the total, followed by heating with at 30%, hot water supply with at 17% and cooling with at 6%. Third, the average energy independence rate is was 51.8%, the GFA (Gross gross floor area) criteria average energy consumption unit is was $48.7kWh/m^2yr$ (${\sigma}=10.1$), and the net energy consumption unit (except the energy yield of the PV systems) is was $24.7kWh/m^2yr$ (${\sigma}=8.8$).
In case of newly constructed buildings, the construction type is almost Curtain-wall system or large window in building skin. However, these kind of buildings have problems with regulations on building energy efficiency. And national regulations on building energy efficiency limit only the V-factor of window(except infiltration), it is hard to predict energy consumption of Curtain-wall buildings which gain large solar energy in summer. In this study, the influence of LSG(Light to Solar Gain) on energy performance was theoretically analyzed with simulation. LSG is the value of VLT divide SHGC and represents the optical performance of the glass or glazing. The Window & Therm program developed in LBNL was used to analyze window systems and EnergyPlus was used to building energy. Cases of glazing are three types; single coated Low-e clear glazing, tripple coated Low-e clear glazing, tripple coated Low-e tinted glazing. The results of this study are follows; 1) The building energy consumption of Alt-l, 2, 3 were about 300, 253, $259kWh/m^2{\cdot}yr$ respectively. Therefore, improvement of LSG could save the energy up to 16%. 2) The saved energy could be converted 1 billion won as annual benefit of total energy costs 3) SHGC and LSG more influence on cooling energy than heating energy in office buildings.
The aim of this study is to evaluate how much would the building energy consumption be saved by applying DSSC BIPV window which is possible to control the transmittance and express the color in the office building. For this, physical characteristics such as transmittance and reflectance, U-factor of DSSC areanalyzed and an annual energy consumption that is connected to dimming control is calculated when DSSC BIPV window is applied by alternate clear window system. As a result, It is possible to reduce the anannual energy consumption as much as4.1% by just change the clear double window system to DSSC BIPV double window system because the major factor to reduce energy consumption in the office that has much cooling load than other building is SHGC. When the thermal insulation properties of DSSC BIPV window with low-e coating and making triple window are improved, energy saving ratio is about 9%. Plus, energy saving ratio of 25~28% in lighting energy consumption is possible when the dimming control system with DSSC BIPV window is adopt.
Location awareness is an important capability for mobile-based indoor services. Those indoor services have motivated the implementation of methods that need high computational load cost and complex mechanisms for positioning prediction. These mechanisms, such as opportunistic sensing and machine learning, require more energy consumption to achieve accuracy. In this paper, we propose the Bluetooth Low Energy indoor zone detection (BLEIZOD) technique. This method exploits the concept of proximity zone to reduce the load cost and complexity. Our proposed method implements the received signal strength indicator (RSSI) function more effectively to gain accuracy and reduce energy consumption.
The proposed scheme minimizes the Idle time under the residual energy of the sensor node to adjust the Sleep-Wakeup period and minimize unnecessary energy consumption. It is The proposed scheme minimizes the Idle time under the residual energy of the sensor node to adjust the Sleep-Wakeup period and minimize unnecessary energy consumption. It is an important process to control the Application Packet Framework including the PHY and the MAC layer at each node's Idle time with the Idle time mechanism state before the proposed function is executed. The Current Control Level of the Report Attribute is fixed at one sending / receiving node where power consumption can occur, by changing Sleep-Wakeup time, the low power consumption efficiency was improved while satisfying the transmission requirement of the given delay time constraint.

The requirements for powerful computing capability, high capacity, low latency and low energy consumption of emerging services, pose severe challenges to the fifth-generation (5G) network. As a promising paradigm, mobile edge networks can provide services in proximity to users by deploying computing components and cache at the edge, which can effectively decrease service delay. However, the coexistence of heterogeneous services and the sharing of limited resources lead to the competition between various services for multiple resources. This paper considers two typical heterogeneous services: computing services and content delivery services, in order to properly configure resources, it is crucial to develop an effective offloading and caching strategies. Considering the high energy consumption of 5G base stations, this paper considers the hybrid energy supply model of traditional power grid and green energy. Therefore, it is necessary to design a reasonable association mechanism which can allocate more service load to base stations rich in green energy to improve the utilization of green energy. This paper formed the joint optimization problem of computing offloading, caching and resource allocation for heterogeneous services with the objective of minimizing the on-grid power consumption under the constraints of limited resources and QoS guarantee. Since the joint optimization problem is a mixed integer nonlinear programming problem that is impossible to solve, this paper uses deep reinforcement learning method to learn the optimal strategy through a lot of training. Extensive simulation experiments show that compared with other schemes, the proposed scheme can allocate resources to heterogeneous service according to the green energy distribution which can effectively reduce the traditional energy consumption.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between physical activity and energy drinks consumption in Korean Adolescents. Methods: This study was a secondary data analysis using statistics from the 2017(13th) Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey. The variables used in the study were physical activity, energy drinks consumption and socio-demographic characteristics such as gender, academic achievement, household economic status and weekly allowance. The data were analyzed by $x^2$ test and multinominal logistic regression and the results were presented in percentage. Results: As the number of days engaging in moderate and vigorous physical activities increased, the response that they consume energy drinks 'more than 5 times a week' also increased. The subjects who participated in a 'moderate' or 'high' level of moderate physical activity consumed 1.4 times more energy drinks than those who do not participate in physical activity. And the subjects who engaged in a 'low' or 'moderate' level of vigorous physical activity consumed about 1.3 times more energy drinks than those who don't work out. Conclusion: As the level and intensity of physical activity increased, the number and frequency of energy drinks consumption increased. The results of this study can be used as basic data for intervention programs to reduce energy drinks consumption and promote proper physical activity.
The advent of the state-of-the-art technologies such as cloud computing and big data processing stimulates the provision of various new IT services, which implies that more servers are required to support them. However, the need for more servers will lead to more energy consumption and the efficient use of energy in the computing environment will become more important. The next generation nonvolatile RAM has many desirable features such as byte addressability, low access latency, high density and low energy consumption. There are many approaches to adopt them especially in the area of the file system involving storage devices, but their focus lies on the improvement of system performance, not on energy reduction. This paper suggests a novel approach for energy reduction in which the MRAM-based SSD is utilized as a storage device instead of the hard disk and a downsized page is adopted instead of the 4KB page that is the size of a page in the ordinary file system. The simulation results show that energy efficiency of a new approach is very effective in case of accessing the small number of bytes and is improved up to 128 times better than that of NAND Flash memory.
This study examined the power consumption of angling boats during entry, departure, and fishing operations using a black box-type storage device. Through this analysis, it determined the energy consumption and carbon emissions of small fishing boats used for catching the largehead hairtail. The energy consumption and carbon emissions were calculated using formulas provided by the Korea Energy Agency, which incorporated updated emission coefficients from 2022. The findings revealed that the average power consumption of small fishing boats for the largehead hairtail was 546.3 kWh, with a total energy consumption of 0.1164 TOE and carbon emissions of 24.057 CO2. The average energy consumption was calculated at 0.0006 TOE per kilogram, and the carbon emissions were determined to be 0.135 CO2/kg.
Currently, many companies have succeeded in logistics delivery experiments utilizing drone and report it. When a drone is used commercially, long-term flight is an important performance that a drone should have. However, unlike vehicles operated on the ground, drone is a vehicle that continues to consume energy when maintaining the current altitude or moving to the destination. Therefore, the drones can fly for a long time as the capacity of the battery is large, but the batteries with large capacity are restricted by heavy weight and it acts as a limiting factor in a commercial use. To address this issue, we attempt to compare how far we can fly than forward flight based on the flight pattern with the same energy consumption condition. In this paper, the comparison of energy consumption was performed in three flight pattern, forward flight without altitude change and forward flight with altitude change, by computer simulation and it shows the increasing of flight distances when the quadrotor fly with altitude change from high altitude to low altitude.
