The Analysis of Liquid Metal Flow Characteristics in the Annular Passage of an Electromagnetic Pump

  • An electromagnetic pump using a tubular induction motor (TLIM) has been proposed to pump liquid metal fluids. TLIM has been designed for liquid metal flow systems with a motor with a thrust force of 40~77[N]. The flow characteristics have been investigated by solving the Navier-Stokes equation, where the Lorentz force was included simply by considering it as a constant in the Navier-Stokes equation. A wood metal was chosen to simulate the liquid metal. The effect of Lorentz force on the flow rate was investigated. An experiment was conducted and its results were compared with those of the simulation. The simulation result showed an overestimation of about 17% compared with the experimental one.

  • Based on the extended Huygens-Fresnel principle, the analytical equation for a Lorentz-Gauss vortex beam propagating through oceanic turbulence has been derived. The spreading properties of a Lorentz-Gauss vortex beam propagating through oceanic turbulence are analyzed in detail using numerical examples. The results show that a Lorentz-Gauss vortex beam propagating through stronger oceanic turbulence will spread more rapidly, and the Lorentz-Gauss vortex beam with higher topological charge M will lose its initial dark center more slowly.

  • Magnetic curves are the trajectories of charged particals which are influenced by magnetic fields and they satisfy the Lorentz equation. It is important to find relationships between magnetic curves and other special curves. This paper is a study of magnetic curves and this kind of relationships. We give the relationship between β-magnetic curves and Mannheim, Bertrand, involute-evolute curves and we give some geometric properties about them. Then, we study this subject for γ-magnetic curves. Finally, we give an evaluation of what we did.

  • 근역장 측정 알고리즘 유도를 간략화하기 위하여 심플렉틱 공간에 기반을 둔 심플렉틱 형태를 근역장 탐침 교정 방정식에 도입한다. 근역장 탐침 교정 방정식 유도를 위해 로렌츠 상호작용 원리를 이용한다. 심플렉틱 형태를 이용하면 복잡한 이중적분에 대한 고려가 필요 없으므로 근역장 탐침 교정 방정식이 간략화 된다.

  • 안테나 복사 특성을 효과적으로 측정하는 방법 중 하나인 안테나 근역장 측정 알고리즘의 개선을 논한다. 로렌츠 상호작용 원리와 상호작용 표기법을 이용하여 근역장-원역장 변환공식의 핵심인 프로브 교정 알고리즘을 간략히 유도한다. 제안된 일반적인 프로브 교정 방정식과 제작된 시스템을 사각 혼안테나에 대한 평면주사법에 적용하여 근역장 복사 패턴을 얻고 이를 원역장 복사 패턴과 비교하여 복사 특성이 유사한 것을 보인다. 이를 통해 본 논문의 접근법이 매우 간단하면서도 대부분의 안테나 측정에 유용하게 쓰일 수 있는 것을 보인다.

  • Electricity unified field is described based on magnetic theory. Maxwell Einstein Lorentz Equation & pair particle photon model was introduced for Photonics. Refractive index is calculated as deceleration and deflection of photon due to photo-induced surface magnetism. MEL equation was proved with magneto-jet assumption.

Magneto-thermo-elastic response of a rotating functionally graded cylinder

  • In this paper, an analytical solution of displacement, strain and stress field for rotating thick-walled cylinder made of functionally graded material subjected to the uniform external magnetic field and thermal field in plane strain state has been studied. Stress, strain and displacement field as a function of radial coordinates considering magneto-thermo-elasticity are derived analytically. According to the Maxwell electro-dynamic equations, Lorentz force in term of displacement is obtained in cylindrical coordinates. Also, symmetric temperature distribution along the thickness of hollow cylinder is obtained by solving Fourier heat transfer equation in cylindrical coordinates. Using equation of equilibrium and thermo-mechanical constitutive equations associated with Lorentz force, a second-order inhomogeneous differential equation in term of displacement is obtained and will be solved analytically. Except Poisson's ratio, other mechanical properties such as elasticity modulus, density, magnetic permeability coefficient, heat conduction coefficient and thermal expansion coefficient are assumed to vary through the thickness according to a power law. In results analysis, non-homogeneity parameter has been chosen arbitrary and inner and outer surface of cylinder are assumed to be rich metal and rich ceramic, respectively. The effect of rotation, thermal, magnetic field and non-homogeneity parameter of functionally graded material which indicates percentages of cylinder's constituents are studied on displacement, Von Mises equivalent stress and Von Mises equivalent strain fields.

  • 본 연구에서는 장하분배법(Load Distribution Method) 및 등가회로법(Equivalent Circuit Method)을 이용하여 액체금속이송을 위한 전자기펌프를 설계하고 제작하였다. 제작된 전자기펌프의 구동전력과 이에 상응하는 액체의 유량관계를 구하였다. 액체금속유동에 가하는 전자기 힘(Lorentz force)의 크기에 따른 유속과 유량을 수치해석기법을 이용하여 계산하였다. 수치해석결과를 상용코드인 FLUENT를 이용하여 계산한 결과와 비교하고 분석하였다. 다양한 전자기력의 크기에 대한 액체금속(우드메탈)의 평균속도에 대한 결과는 FLUENT의 결과와 5%이내의 오차 내에서 잘 일치하였다.
