A new integral controller is proposed for time-delay plants. The proposed controller has Davison type structure and utilizes a simplified state predictor instead of the optimal state predictor for the extended system. The simplified predictor is introduced by a trick similar to that used in the Smith predictor. As a systematic method for designing the proposed controller, the application of the loop transfer recovery (LTR) technique is considered. For the plant input side and the output side, explicit representations of the sensitivity matrices achieved by enforcing the formal LTR procedure using Riccati equations are obtained. A numerical example is presented to compare the asymptotic...
LQG/LTR method cannot applied to nonminimum phase plant. In this paper, we present a new approximation method which guaratee the approximation error equal to zero and exact loop transfer recovery. Zero structure of plant and approximated plant are considered in approximation procedure. It is shown that the properties of plant and approximated plant at pole and zero frequency response are exactly same. It is shown by example that the suggested method can avoide the NMP plant constraint arised in designing LQG/LTR.
In this paper, a controller design method for uncertain linear systems by output feedback is proposed. This method utilizes the LQG/LTR procedure for systems with uncertainties described in the time domain. It is assumed that the uncertainties satisfy the matching conditions and their bounds are known. First, a robust state feedback controller design method is introduced. Then, it is asymtotically recovered for the output feedback system by the loop transfer recovery(LTR) method under a certain condition.

This paper proposes a design procedure based on the LQG/LTR (Linear Quadratic Gaussian/ Loop Transfer Recovery) method for a launch vehicle. Continuous-discrete type LQG/LTR compensators are designed using the e-transformation to overcome numerical problems occurring in the process of discretization. The e-LQG/LTR compensator using the e-transformation is compared width the z-LQG/LTR compensator using the z-transformation. The performance of the overall system controlled by the compensator is evaluated via simulations, which show that the discretization error problem is resolved and the control performances are satisfactory in the proposed compensator.

An approach for robustness recovery of the observer-based control system is presented. The approach is developed by adding a loop with appropriate constant matrix to the observer-based closed-loop system. It will be shown that if there exists an added-loop matrix M satisfying F=MC for a feedback gain F and output matrix C, then the observer-based control systems have the same loop transfer functions as full-state feedback implementations, in other words, the former has the same relative stability and robustness as the latter.

In this paper, we propose an ATC(Automatic Transfer mode Controller) algorithm and an average-mode-change method for use in Gear shift PLL which can automatically change loop gain. The proposed ATC algorithm accurately detects proper timing or the mode change and has a very simpler structure - than the conventional lock detector algorithm often used in QPSK. And the proposed average mode change method can obtain low errors of estimated frequency offset by averaging the loop filter output of frequency component in shift register. These algorithms are also useful in designing ASIC, since these algorithms occupy small circuit area and are adaptable for high speed digital processing. We also present phase tracking performance of proposed Gear-shift PLL, which is composed of polarity decision PD, ATC and average mode change circuit, and analyze the results by examining constellation at each mode.

The objective of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of cryopreservation methods for the effect of various vitrification containers, such as EM-grid, OPS, or cryo-loop on the survival and developmental rate of vitrified mouse pronuclear embryos, and mouse cleavage embryo, at 21, 24, 27 and 30 hr after hCG injection. Post-thaw cleavage was similar among treatments, while the developmental rates of mouse blastocyst and hatched blastocyst were higher ($p$ <0.05) in 27 hr and 30 hr than 21 hr. The developmental rate of hatched blastocyst at vitrified cleavage mouse embryos in cryo-loop was significantly higher than vitrified pronuclear embryos of control group as well as EM-grid and OPS ($p$ <0.05). The developmental rate using cryo-loop was higher than EM-grid, but in case of OPS at vitrified cleavage and mouse pronuclear embryos, no significant difference was noticed. These results of our study show that the developmental rates of mouse embryos were unaffected by various vitrification containers, but in case of mouse embryos and hatched blastocysts at late vitrified pronuclear embryos the developmental rates were higher than early vitrified pronuclear embryos. Moreover, the developmental rate of hatched blastocyst at vitrified cleavage mouse embryos was significantly higher than vitrified pronuclear embryos. For better execution of this study, it will be mandatory to include improvement of vitrification containers, cryopreservation methods and conditions, higher survival rate, safe preservation, contamination and embryo loss.

A LQG/LTR(linear quadratic Gaussian/loop transfer recovery) controller with an integrator is designed to control the electro-hydraulic positioning system. Without considering the nonlinearity in the dead-zone, computer simulations are performed and show good performances and tracking abilities with the feedback controller based on the linear system model. However, the performance of the closed loop hydraulic positioning system shows big steady-state error in real system because of the dead-zone. In this paper, the feedback controller with a nonlinear compensator is introduced to overcome the dead-zone phenomenon in hydraulic systems. The inverse dead-zone as a nonlinear compensator is used to cancel out the dead-zone phenomenon. Experimental tests are performed to verify the performance of the controller.
In this paper, control of a planar two-link structurally flexible robotic manipulator executing unconstrained and constrained maneuvers is considered. The dynamic model, which is obtained by using the extended Hamilton's principle and the Galerkin criterion, includes the impact force generated during the transition from unconstrained to constrained segment of the robotic task. A method is presented to obtain the linearized equations of motion in Cartesian space for use in designing the control system. The linear quadratic Gaussian with loop transfer recovery (LQG/LTR) design methodology is exploited to design a robust feedback control system that can handle modeling errors and sensor noise, and operate on Cartesian space trajectory errors. The LQG/LTR compensator together with a feedforward loop is used to control the flexible manipulator. Simulated results are presented for a numerical example.

In order to control systems which are dominantly subjected to modeling errors and uncertainties, control strategies must deal with the effect of modeling errors and uncertainties. Since most of control methods based on system mathematical model, such as LQG/LTR method, have been developed mainly focused on stability robustness, they can not smartly improve the transient response disturbed by modeling errors and/or uncertainties. In this research, a fuzzy PID control method is suggested, which can stably improve the transient responses of systems disturbed by modeling errors as well as systems not entirely using mathematical models. So as to assure the effectiveness of suggested control method, computer simulations are accomplished for some example systems, through the comparison of transient responses.
