The numerical simulation of a 271-rod fuel assembly of nuclear Liquid-Metal Fast Reactor (LMFR) with an infernal blockage has been carried out. Internal blockage within a subassembly is addressed in the safety assessment because it potentially has very serious consequences for the reactor as a whole. Three dimensional calculations were performed using the SABRE4 computer code for the range of blockage positions and sizes to investigate the seriousness and detectability of the internal blockage. The magnitude and location of the peak temperatures together with the temperature distribution at the subassembly exit were calculated in order to look at the potential for damage within the subassembly, and the possibility of blockage detection. The analysis result shows that the 6-subchannel blockage causes large temperature rise within a assembly with practically no change in mixed mean temperature at the assembly exit.

Applying a general coupled lateral and torsional vibration finite element model of gear pair element this paper intends to look into in detail the coupled lateral and torsional vibration characteristics in a turbo-chiller rotor bearing system, having a bull-pinion speed increasing gear. Investigations have been carried out systematically by comparing the uncoupled and coupled analyses natural vibration frequencies and their mode shapes upon varying the gear mesh stiffness, and also by comparing the strain energies of lateral and torsional vibration modes. Results have shown that some modes may have coupled lateral and torsional mode characteristics as the gear mesh stiffness increases over a certain value, and moreover that their associated dominant modes may be different from their initial modes, i.e., the dominant mode changes from an initial torsional one to a lateral one or from an initial lateral one to a torsional one.

This paper proposed a novel method for pseudo-on-line scheme using look-up table based on the genetic algorithm The technique is an pseudo-on-line method that optimally estimate the parameters of FPID controller for systems with non-linearity using the genetic algorithm which does not use the gradient and finds the global optimum of an unconstraint optimization problem. The proposed controller is applied to speed control of 3-phase induction motor and its computer simulation is carried out. Simulation results show that the proposed method is more excellent then conventional FPID and PID controllers.

Most operational organization and railway authority which conduct scheduled maintenance(SM) have carried out the preventive maintenance(PM) based on the information provided from supplier and manufacturer of railway system. However these activities are far away from reality and low the efficiency, it is because an appropriate methods for system selection didn't take into account for improving maintenance efficiency. Therefore, the current SM tasks and maintenance activities lead to lots of spend on the cost and time. To solve the above problem, this thesis presents new approach methodology. This proposes the criteria for reliability centered maintenance(RCM) system selection through level of quantification of each parameter, i.e, frequency, severity and maintenance cost, etc. To do this, the field operation data and information of maintenance cost are essential. As applying this methodology, we can look forward to improving efficiency of PM/SM, and reducing cost.

I summarize highlights from extragalactic research activities performed with AKARI infrared space telescope. The main emphasis will be given to the works carried out by Korean astronomers. The activities span a wide range of topics, such as MIR properties of nearby galaxies in cluster environment, MIR diagnosis of star-forming galaxies at z=0 through z=2 in the North Ecliptic Pole (NEP) survey field, the Extended Groth Strip (EGS), and the First Look Survey (FLS) field, and the NIR spectroscopy of Luminous Infrared Galaxies (LIRGs) and Active Galactic Nuclei/Super-massive Black Holes at low redshift as well as near the re-ionization epoch of z~6. I describe FIR and MIR all sky data which can be used as a precious resource for extragalactic research, and other future and ongoing works with AKARI. These AKARI results will form a strong basis for future studies using other facilities, such as infrared surveys with UKIRT, FIR study of dusty universe with Herschel, and the SPICA mission.

Recent years, being advanced the phenomena of fewness and aging rapidly in rural areas, rural community has been collapsed fastly. This study is aimed for two intentions: the one is identification of the actual conditions of rural diminishing in population, and the other is having a view of real picture of it in future. The major result of this study is summarized as follows. First, as a result of the rural area's shrinking for a long time advanced, the rural community has grown to under the minimum autogenesis level. Futher more this study have a look out in ten years later that rural community will diminish in population to 42% size compared with now, and the number of elder than 80 years old occupy a half of total population in a standard case. Such a consequence of this study implies no doubt that the rural development policy must lay a stress to cope with a serious situation of rural scantiness. And policy conversion calls for having a new understanding of this situation first.

In manufacturing the all-ceramic crown whick look close to natural teeth, the effectiveness of the improved technique is expectected the technique of the heat treatment of gold plating coating die was experimented of a refractory cast model. The following results were obtainde 1. An advantage of build up on east die with out manufacturing veneer, crown, core, or masking(reduction of technical process, and retrenchment of time and money) 2. Esthetically more close to natural teeth than other technique 3. Easy to remove a refractors cast die 4. In manufacturing ceramo-metal crown the enomous effectiveness was obtainde on applying in the areas of cervical margin, the metal surface, and in the treatment of pinhole.

The technique is a pseudo-on-line method that optimally estimates the parameters of fuzzy PID(FPID) controller for systems with non-linearity, using the genetic algorithm. The proposed controller(GFPID) with the auto-tuning function is applied to the on-line and real-time control of speed at 3-phase induction motor, and its computer simulation is carried out. simulation results show that the proposed methodis more excellent that conventional FPID and PID controllers.

In this paper, we present analysis results of various intermodulation products (IMPs) evaluation methods previously proposed for nonlinear systems. The results indicate that out of these methods, Fuenzalida and Simbo's method is the best for efficient evaluation of IMPs. Also, we present a detailed mathematical analysis of IMP and show how to apply the equations related to IMP to actual program implementations with examples. In this paper, we newly introduce three methods to reduce the IMP calculation time and improve the accuracy of the outputs :1) TWTA curve fitting method by LS (Least Square), 2) IMP evaluation technique which is based on a look-up table 3) Gaussian spectral shaping for PSK signal instead of convolution. The IMP evaluation results obtained by the new approaches introduced in this paper resulted in a good match with the published outputs in the open literature and showed improved performance especially in the TWTA curve .
