The study is to structure materials of cultural arts in "Namdo(Jeollanamdo and Gwangju)" province. Especially the study focuses on establishing description elements for serving diverse materials. First, the authors makes the draft version(4 entities, 28 elements and 115 subelements) by reviewing literature and conducting case study. Then, experts review the draft version and the authors draws final version that consists of 4 entities(materials, performances, agents, facilities), 28 elements and 117 subelements. From the viewpoints of locality, cultural arts materials, and cultural artists, the description elements in this study are distinguished from other studies.

Local Arts Organization has performed various events in the provinces such as performances, exhibitions, competitions, and festivals, has been a place where local artists share information of arts, and has contributed greately to the development of art culture in the provinces for a long time. Records of Local Arts Organization are historical records showing the level and value of past and present local cultural arts, so systematic management and preservation is necessary. Also, since the records of Local Arts Organization are high in interest and demand of users, exhibition services are needed to show them effectively. Therefore, this study shows how to construct a Local Arts Organization based on CollectiveAccess, which is open software, to manage Local Arts Organization and provide exhibition services.

Today we seem to be flooded with digital culture as the age of information has reached its peak. As fusion culture has been generalized, in which the arts and culture of the East and the West are in harmony, and quality of life has been improved, people are enjoying more abundant cultural benefits than ever. In such a situation, we may lose the origin of our culture and disregard our traditional culture due to the mixture of cultures. In addition, it is necessary at this point to distinguish pure culture from mixed one and to re-illuminate the value of our original culture for the next generation. Therefore, the author took interested in Dongraeyaryu, a large-scale festival in Busan, which has been designated as an important intangible cultural property, and carried out a research for its continuous instruction and activation. among contents such as music, costume, dancing and stage properties that compose intangible cultural property, this study selected costume, which has significant visual effects and large differences in shape between old one and contemporary one, for development. By proposing modernized design of costume preferred by the new generation and in harmony with the masks, this study wished to narrow the generation gap, to direct young people's attention to the learning of tradition and to propose motives that activate the culture of local festival.

This research takes an introspective and critical approach to the college level visual communication design education in Korea. As such, the changes of the college-level visual communication design curriculum in Korea are analyzed. Selected were 3 major design schools which have a relatively long design educational history in Korea. Those 3 schools are Hongik University, Seoul National University and Ewha University. The curricula were categorized and its changes were followed. The faculty members of those 3 schools were also analyzed. The college level design education began from 1946 at Seoul National University. The Koreas design education was influenced from the Japanese Design curriculum and then the American design curriculum from the beginning. The Korean design educators accepted those new design educational paradigm without any criticism, and it is now structurized in our design educational system. It caused the curriculum with practice-centered classes mostly, and the function centered design education without understanding of socio-cultural environments. The Korean design education needs more liberal arts which will lead us to more discourses about ourselves, and needs to employ more local design educators to solve the intellectual skewness in the Korean academic society in the field of Design.
