The Development of LED Lighting Controller based on the PAN (PAN 기반의 LED 조명 제어 장치 개발)

  • The usage of LED(Light Emitting Diode) has been rapidly increased and energy efficient management of LED light system is regarded as an important technology to enhance the energy efficiency. In this paper, we design and implementation of LED lighting controller which can control the LED lighting by using the wire and wireless communication technology based on the LAN(Local Area Network) and PAN(Personal Area Network). The implemented system can reduce the cost of LED lighting installing and avoids complicated wiring problem. And it is possible to minimize power consumption through automatic or manual LED control that they wished. In experimental results, the implemented LED lighting controller was satisfactory for all of the desired functions.

  • To improve the efficiency and safety of railway systems, the train control system has been considerably evolved from the ground-equipment-based control system (e.g. track circuit, interlocking system, etc.) into the on-board-equipment-based control system. In addition, this train control system enables the rolling stock to intelligently control the trackside facilities by introducing the information and communication technologies (ICT). Accordingly, since the ICT-based train control system makes the railway system be simplified (i.e. the heavy ground-equipment can be removed), the efficient and cost-effective railway system can be realized. In this paper, we perform the feasibility test of the ICT-based train control system via a simulation. To this end, we have developed the prototypes of the on-board controller and wayside object control units which control the point and crossing gate and performed the integrated operation simulation in a testbed. In this paper, before the field test of the on-board-controller-based train control system, we perform the Consecutive operation test for prototypes of the on-board controller, wayside object control units and local control computer.

  • The reliability of system is to become a important concern in developed industry. The controller based on the reliability is so important position. PPC(Plant Protection Controller) is for plant protection and human life by fault detection and control action against the transient condition of plant. The protection system of the nuclear reactor and chemical reactor are representative of PPC. This paper presents analysis of PPC relaibility formal problem statement of optimal redundancy based on the reliability for PPC. And the problem is optimized by genetic algorithm, The genetic algorithms is useful algorithm in case of large searching complex gradient existence local minimum.   • In this study I construct CAN(Controller Area Network) for automobiles similar to LAN(Local Area Network) and build communication modules in the major part of an automobile to link several sub-systems. Since each station replaces the communication function of sub-systems and has various types of sensor, actuator, controller, and switch, every information about automobile's status is obtained from the network. The manufactured system showed a superior capability. The following is the contents of study. 1. The definition of communication packet through the analysis of CAN protocol. 2.   • This paper presents a new approach to Thyristor Controlled Phase Shifter (TCPS) control. In this paper we have proposed a nonlinear coordinated generator excitation and TCPS controller to enhance the transient stability of a power system. The proposed controller is able to control three main parameters affecting a.c. power transmission: namely excitation voltage, phase angle and reactance in a coordinated manner. The TCPS is located at the midpoint of the transmission line. A nonlinear feedback control law is proposed to linearize and decouple the power system. The design of the proposed controller is based on the local measurements only. Simulation results have been shown to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller for the enhancement of transient stability of the power system under a large sudden fault.

  • The stabilization control of ball-beam system is difficult because of its nonlinearity and structural unstability. Futhermore, a series of classical methods such as the PID and the full state feedback controller(FSFC) based on the local linearizations have narrow stabilizable regions. At the same time, the fine tunings of their gain parameters are also troublesome. Therefore, in this paper, three improved design techniques of stabilization controller for a ball-beam system were proposed. These parameter tuning methods in the double PID controller(DPIDC), the FSFC and the a sliding mode controller(SMC) were dependent upon the Real Value Elitist Genetic Algorithm (RVEGA). Finally, by applying the DPIDC, the FSFC and the Real Variable Elitist Genetic Algorithm based Sliding Mode Control(RVEGA SMC) to the stabilizations of a ball-beam system, the performances of the RVEGA SMC technique were showed to be superior to those of two other type controllers.

  • This paper proposes a controller design of a distributed source inverter in stand-alone mode or grid-connected mode to compensate the current or voltage harmonics caused by local nonlinear load. The PR-based multi loop controller has been used to improve the dynamic performance of the system and to compensate the output voltage or grid current harmonics. The multi-loop controller consists of an outer current controller and an inner voltage controller for the output voltage control in stand-alone mode. In grid-connected mode, an outer current controller is added to the output voltage controller for the grid current control. The design performance of each controller is described through the Root locus and Bode plot of the transfer functions. The validity of the proposed control algorithm and design parameters has been verified through the PSiM simulation and experimental results.

  • In this paper, an Adaptive Evolutionary Computation(AEC) is proposed. AEC uses a genetic algorithm(GA) and an evolution strategy (ES) in an adaptive manner is order to take merits of two different evolutionary computations: global search capability of GA and local search capability of ES. In the reproduction procedure, proportions of the population by GA and ES are adaptively modulated according to the fitness. AEC is used to design the membership functions and the scaling factors of fuzzy logic controller (FLC). To evaluate the performances of the proposed FLC, we make an experiment on FLC for the speed control of an actual DC series motor system with nonlinear characteristics. Experimental results show that the proposed controller has better performance than that of PD controller.

  • Photovoltaic (PV) solar systems with series-connected module integrated converters (MICs) are receiving increased attention because of their ability to create high output voltage while performing local maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control for individual solar panels, which is a solution for partial shading effects in PV systems at panel level. To eliminate the partial shading effects in PV system more effectively, sub-MICs are utilized at the cell level or grouped cell level within a PV solar panel. This study presents the results of a series-output-connection MPPT (SOC-MPPT) controller for sub-MIC architecture using a single sensor at the output and a single digital MPPT controller (sub-MIC SOC-MPPT controller and architecture). The sub-MIC SOC-MPPT controller and architecture are investigated based on boost type sub-MICs. Experimental results under steady-state and transient conditions are presented to verify the performance of the controller and the effectiveness of the architecture.
