A 3-way VLIW multimedia signal processor capable of efficient repeated operations as well as both load/store and type transformations for various data types is presented. It is composed of a 32-bit execution unit that can execute two instructions in parallel, an independent load/store unit and a control unit. The processor is implemented with 0.6${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ gate array and the results are discussed.
This paper presents a method to improve reliability by dispersed generation (DG) installation considering load types and interruption cost. The objective functions such as power losses cost, operation cost of DGS, power buy cost and interruption cost are minimized for reliability improvement and efficient operation. The several indices for reliability evaluation are improved by dispersed generation system installation.
The purpose of this research is to provide scientific training guides and the basis for preventing injuries in performing tango backward walk by comparing the effects the height and shape of a heel will have on leg muscles and determining the difference between skilled and unskilled dancers through EMG analysis according to different types of shoes Total eight female athletes were selected for this research. Four with six years of professional dancing experience and another four with one year of dance sports experience. Utilizing the EMG system, rectus femoris, biceps femoris, anterior tibialis, gastrocnemius were measured under different heights (0cm, 5cm, 7cm, 9cm) and shapes (flat, fine, wide) of a heel. Experiments were conducted calculating EMG peak value and muscle load ration under different types of shoes in order to analyze the EMG of leg muscles and Erector Spinae when performing tango backward walk. The result was as follows: 1. The EMG peak value of leg muscles showed significant difference under different heights of a heel in anterior tibialis(p<.001) and gastrocnemius(p.<01) in case of skilled dancers, and in biceps femoris(p.<01) in case of unskilled dancers. 2. The EMG peak value of leg muscles showed significant difference under different shapes of a heel in anterior tibialis(p<.001) and gastrocnemius(p<.001) in case of skilled dancers, and showed no significant difference in case of unskilled dancers. 3. The muscle load ration of leg muscles showed different degrees of muscle contribution between skilled and unskilled dancers. The muscle load ration was in the order of anterior tibialis, rectus femoris, biceps femoris, and gastrocnemius in case of skilled dancers and anterior tibialis, gastrocnemius, biceps femoris, and rectus femoris in case of unskilled dancers.
The aim of this study was to investigate the alteration of lumbar spine and trunk postures on different load-carrying types and amounts under static loading. Two load-carrying types(unilateral carrying: UC vs. bilateral carrying: BC) and four different loads(0, 5, 10, and 15 kg) were randomly tested in this study. Carrying a heavy bag would affect human body posture, specifically lumbar spine curvature, which is considered as one of sources of back problems. Previous studies have not paid attention to the approach of the multisegment model of the lumbar spine and trunk. This study separated two compartments of trunk segment(the lumbar and thorax) in the analysis. The multisegment model of the lumbar spine in addition to Helen-Hayes marker set was used. Eight motion analysis cameras and a force plate were utilized. Ten male subjects(mean mass, $70.6{\pm}3.97$ kg; mean height, $178{\pm}4.18$ m) having no musculoskeletal disease participated in this study. We analyzed trunk angles in three anatomical planes and the spinal curvature in sagittal and frontal planes. Increased loading in both UC and BC significantly resulted in increases in trunk forward lean but only UC induced increases in trunk lateral lean. In addition, increased loading in BC produced flatten lumbar curvature in sagittal plane. As far as coupling motion, subjects tended to use axial rotation of the lumbar spine in transverse plane in response to increased UC loading. Finally, it is concluded that the increased static loading in UC rather than in BC tends to causes combined alterations of the spinal postures(sagittal and transverse planes together), which would be vulnerable to improper mechanical stresses on the spine.

The use of the friction coefficient is known to provide good discrimination ability in the classification of human constitutions, which are used in alternative medicine. In this study, a system that uses a multi-axis load cell and a hemi-circular probe is designed. The equipment consists of a sensor (load cell type, manufactured by the authors), an x-axis linear-bush guide motorized mobile stage that supports the hand being analyzed, and a signal conditioner. Using the proposed system, the friction coefficients from different constitutions were compared, and the relative repeatability error for the friction coefficient measurement was determined to be less than 2 %. The direction along the ring finger line was determined to be the optimum measurement region for a constitutional diagnosis between Tae-eumin and Soyangin types using the proposed system. There were some differences in the friction coefficient between the two constitutions, as reported in ancient literature. The proposed system is applicable to a quantitative constitutional diagnosis between Tae-eumin and Soyangin types within an acceptable level of uncertainty.
In this paper, the non-linear behavior of masonry-infill and bare steel frames using different beam-column connections under monotonic static loading was investigated through a parametric study. Numerical models were carried out using one- and two-dimensional modelling to validate the experimental results. After validating the experimental results by using these models, a parametric study was carried out to model the behavior of these frames using flushed, extended, and welded connections. The results showed that using the welded or extended connection is more efficient than using the flushed type in masonry-infilled steel frames, since the lateral capacities, initial stiffness, and toughness have been increased by 155%, 601%, and 165%, respectively in the case of using welded connections compared with those used in bare frames. The FE investigation was broadened to study the influence of the variation of the uniaxial column loads on the lateral capacities of the bare/infill steel frames. As the results showed when increasing the amount of uniaxial loading on the columns, whether in tension or compression, causes the lateral load capacity of the columns to decrease by 26% for welded infilled steel frames. Finally, the influence of using different types of beam-to-column connections on the vertical capacities of the bare/infill steel frames under settlement effect was also studied. As a result, it was found that, the vertical load capacity of all types of frames and with using any type of connections is severely reduced, and this decrease may reach 62% for welded infilled frames. Furthermore, the flushed masonry-infilled steel frame has a higher resistance to the vertical loads than the flushed bare steel frame by 133%.
The purpose of this study is to apprehend the behavior of exhaust gas flow from gas turbine during part load operation in Heat Recovery Steam Generator. As a first step of this work, internal flow characteristics according to HRSG types were examined by CFD analysis. Next step, tube temperature according to gas turbine 53% and 100% load conditions were calculated by results of CFD and those were compared with temperature data gathered from real plant. Finally, thermal performance due to part load operation was calculated to estimate the influence of heat transfer in superheater. In addition, new type of device is suggested to eliminate the uneven temperature distribution of tubes during part load operation.
This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of loop formation and heat treatment upon the elastic properties of orthodontic wires. The specimens selected were .016', .018', .016x.022', and .018x.022' sized stainless steel (standard) and cobalt-chromium-nickel wires, and were divided into 7 groups as; 1. straight non-heat treated 2. U looped non-heat treated 3. L looped non-heat treated 4. Circle looped non-heat treated 5. U looped heat treated 6. L looped heat treated 7. Circle looped heat treated Heat treatment was performed in Big Jane furnace at 850' F for 3 minutes. The elastic limit and the elastic range of each specimen were determined by bending test, and load deflection rate was computed from those values. The findings were as follows; 1. The formation of loop resulted in increased load-deflection rate for both stainless steel and cobalt-chromium-nickel wires. 2. The heat treated group showed higher load-deflection rate than non-heat treated group, which was more apparent in cobalt-chromiumnickel wire than in stainless steel wire. 3. L loop had the highest load-deflection rate among 3 types of loops, followed by U loop and circle loop. 4. The specimens with greater diameter displayed the more increase in load-deflection rate by looping and heat treatment.

Distributed-queue Dual-Bus (DQDB) shows an unfair behavior in bandwidth allocation due to the nature of unidirectional bus architecture. The study on fairness control method for DQDB has been performed under specific load types such as equal Probability load. symmetric load and asymmetric load type. A client-server load type is more practical traffic pattern than specific load type in Web environments. In this paper, we propose an effective fairness control method to distribute DQDB network bandwidth fairly to all stations under Web environments. The proposed method directly calculates an access limit from the bandwidth demand pattern. Based on an access limit, it controls the allocation of bandwidth by yielding empty slots in clients to servers. And we were certain that it outperforms other mechanisms from simulation results.

A brush-less type synchronous generator driven by an internal-combustion engine is used for emergency electric source. These types of generators have to maintain a certain range of output voltage even under the sudden load change conditions such as full load application and removal. This paper describes a method for suppressing the output voltage of a synchronous generator that operates excessively when the load fluctuates. The method used in this paper is a feedforward control method in which the main voltage control consists of a feedback loop using a typical PID controller and the load current is detected as a disturbance element and compensated directly. A feedforward system is constructed in which the load current is regarded as disturbance, and the appropriate feedforward controller configuration and parameters are found through simulation. Finally, it can be seen through the experiment that the feedforward control is performed properly. It can be seen that the generator terminal voltage is recovered to the steady state in a short period of time as compared with the existing PID control method even when the entire load of the generator is changed.
