  • The advancements of the society aggravate ecological problems, and it is at a point where our living environment is under a serious threat. To resolve such problems, environmental friendly design concepts are evolving through various naming conventions such as conservation of global environment, environmental symbiosis, friendly environmental, nature-friendly, environmental friendly type, green building and eco-construction. Accordingly, in this research, for the purposes of healthy living environmental construction, nature as the subject of its design and highly praised as a new design arena, floral art design theory and its functions, as well as its examples are explored. With the Information available, I was able to confirm that, in interior decorating, floral art design is used as a tool for expressing environmental friendly space, and gradually its necessity and the scope of its application have been broadened. Therefore, utilization of floral art design is to fabricate environmental friendly interior space; and it is expected as a substitute for accomplishing green amenity, and its study should continue for the years to come.

  • This study is a descriptive study to invesigate people's perceptions of the living space in fully autonomous vehicle. Survey was conducted on 250 adults in their 20s to 60s who drive their own vehicle in Korea, and the final study subject were 204 participants who completed responses. Frequency analysis, independent sample t-test, and regression analysis were used to analyze the collected data. For the adequacy of using the four factors of mobility, adaptability, convertibility, and interactivity to evaluate the design of living space in fully autonomous vehicle, the scores of respondents were slightly higher, with an average of 3.76 points on a 5-point scale. Regarding the functions required for fully autonomous vehicle, 'sleep and relaxation' was the most common at 46.4% (130), followed by 'entertainment' at 19% (53), 'business and meeting' at 18.3% (51), and 'health monitoring' at 10.8% (30). It is expected that these study findings will be used as basis for the design of 'living space', a key element of fully autonomous mobility.

  • When people encounter a new cultural housing setting, their housing attitudes are more changeable and complicated than when they enter a new housing environment in the same culture. The purpose of this study was to identify cultural impacts on housing attitudes, and to find the new design concepts based on the Koreans living experience in American apartments. Data were collected by the questionnaires of 125 Koreans who live in apartment houses in Pittsburgh. According to Korean common housing attitudes and transition by the time variable, the period of residence in the US, this research found that Korean residents' housing attitudes consist of unchanged cultural factors that have been the basic design concepts of Korean style apartments, changeable mixed factors that can be used to diversify Korean apartments, and changed desired factors that will be applied to new design concepts. Also, this research showed different housing attitudes by marital status and rent. This information may be helpful to Korean housing experts who have tried to improve apartments, and it is possible that American professionals can provide more suitable housing to fit minorities' unique living patterns in America.
