A Preliminary Study on Public Convergent Space optimized for the Digital Convergence Era (디지털 컨버전스에 최적화된 공적융합공간 개발 시론)

  • In the Digital Convergence era, the center of social networking is moving into on-line space. This means also that space for public is moving into the on-line space. Along with this, spaces in commercial area, offered as attraction factors, are taking a role as a public space. So, this paper defines these spaces mentioned above as public space and the like. Liberal and affluent communication of Digital Convergence has caused in new spatial cognitions such like, constant social space, flowing space, temporary space, and multiple space. This means the hybridization of on-line and off-line space and the advent of public convergent space. However, it is on-line-centered convergence and has positive effects and negative effects on relationship. This paper suggests the optimization of public convergent space to solve the problems and make better a public space for relationship. For achieving this, social disclosure is grasped as the common way to start relationship both off-line and on-line, and it is proved that social disclosure has three characters such as self-presentation, corporeality, and subjectivity. Subsequently, the differences of the roles of off-line and on-line space are separated by each individual character. These are self-presentation of performance vs. storytelling, corporeality of embodiment vs. disembodiment, and self-subjectivity vs. inter-subjectivity. By recognizing that there are multilevel spectrums between the formers and the latters, this paper presents the direction of the spatial configuration of public convergent space which offers the right of manipulation of self-disclosure. It will be used for presenting the prototype of public convergent space.

Out-line Space-shape Variation of Clothing Fitness with Somatotype (체형유형에 따른 의복의 착의 공간 형상 변화)

  • Clothing shape is principally described in seven factors that are composed of clothing design, clothing material, clothing size, pattern design, sewing method and body motion etc.. The aims of this study was to measurement out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with somato type by using the image processing. The subjects for direct anthropometric measurements were 248 female college students aged from 19 to 22. The data were statistically analyzed by principal analysis and cluster analysis. The results were obtained three somato type. Also I made skirts in order to analyzed to the out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with body. The effect of somato type on the shape of flare skirts was determined by the out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with body. The out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with body was observed between the node number and amplitudes of clothing wave form and node number was determined at the maxim of space-shape amplitude, and the space-shape amplitudes have related with aspect ratio of cross-sectional shape. Results for flare skirts show changes in amplitude and mean with fabrics, somato type. therefore gray-level histogram are correlated with changes out-line space-shape, differences in drape spacing and related fabric properties and their somato type.   • This paper presents an algorithm capable of detecting free space for the autonomous vehicle navigation. The algorithm consists of two main steps: 1) estimation of longitudinal profile of road, 2) detection of free space. The estimation of longitudinal profile of road is detection of v-line in v-disparity image which is corresponded to road slope, using v-disparity image and hough transform, Dijkstra algorithm. To detect free space, we detect u-line in u-disparity image which is a boundary line between free space and obstacle's region, using u-disparity image and dynamic programming. Free space is decided by detected v-line and u-line. The proposed algorithm is proven to be successful through experiments under various traffic scenarios.

A Study on the Visual Interpretation of the Clothing Image as Clothing m Form and Dot Space Variation. (의복형태와 물방울무늬 공간변화에 따른 이미지의 시각적 평가)

  • This study is intended to identify the clothing mage as clothing form and dot space variation. This study consists of pre-experiment for setting the space between dot which shows the difference of the image and main experiment and also is made of factorial design for two variables-clothing form(H-line, A-line, V-line, X-line) dot (dot 1.0, dot 2.2, dot 3.4, dot 5.8) Qestionaire consists of 21 semantic differential scale expressing clothing form and .dot. Data is obtained from 50 female students maforing clothing and textile. The results of this study are as follows. 1) The image by the clothing form and the space dot variation is composed 5 factors' attention, activity, attraction, maturity, boldness. 2) The image by variation in clothing form dot has significant differences in attractive and attention factors, especially shows remarkable differences in attention. By choosing narrow space dot for attentive image, broden space dot for attractive image, you would be able to create the image you want. 3) The image by variation in dot clothing form has almost signific and differences in all factors, especially shows remarkable differences in activity. By choosing A-line for active image, V-line for mature and fashionable image, X-line for attractive, pretty and delicate mage, you would be able to create the image you want. 4) The interaction effect between clothing form and space dot was in attraction and maturity factor, V-line, X-line, dot 3.4 and dot 5.8 intensify attractive image, V-line and dot 1.0 mature image, X-line and dot 5.8 young image.

A Robust Staff Line Height and Staff Line Space Estimation for the Preprocessing of Music Score Recognition (악보인식 전처리를 위한 강건한 오선 두께와 간격 추정 방법)

  • In this paper, we propose a robust pre-processing module for camera-based Optical Music Score Recognition (OMR) on mobile device. The captured images likely suffer for recognition from many distortions such as illumination, blur, low resolution, etc. Especially, the complex background music sheets recognition are difficult. Through any symbol recognition system, the staff line height and staff line space are used many times and have a big impact on recognition module. A robust and accurate staff line height and staff line space are essential. Some staff line height and staff line space are proposed for binary image. But in case of complex background music sheet image, the binarization results from common binarization algorithm are not satisfactory. It can cause incorrect staff line height and staff line space estimation. We propose a robust staff line height and staff line space estimation by using run-length encoding technique on edge image. Proposed method is composed of two steps, first step, we conducted the staff line height and staff line space estimation based on edge image using by Sobel operator on image blocks. Each column of edge image is encoded by run-length encoding algorithm Second step, we detect the staff line using by Stable Path algorithm and removal the staff line using by adaptive Line Track Height algorithm which is to track the staff lines positions. The result has shown that robust and accurate estimation is possible even in complex background cases.

Out-line Space-Shape Variation of Clothing Fitness with Body by Useing the Image Processing (영상처리법을 이용한 의복의 착의 공간 형상 변화)

The out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with body was observed between the node number and amplitudes of clothing wave form, and node number was determined at the maxim of space-shape amplitude, and the space-shape amplitudes have related with aspect ratio of cross-sectional shape.   • This paper proposes a parking space detection method for autonomous parking by using the Around View Monitor (AVM) image and Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) sensor fusion. This method consists of removing obstacles except for the parking line, detecting the parking line, and template matching method to detect the parking space location information in the parking lot. In order to remove the obstacles, we correct and converge LIDAR information considering the distortion phenomenon in AVM image. Based on the assumption that the obstacles are removed, the line filter that reflects the thickness of the parking line and the improved radon transformation are applied to detect the parking line clearly. The parking space location information is detected by applying template matching with the modified parking space template and the detected parking lines are used to return location information of parking space. Finally, we propose a novel parking space detection system that returns relative distance and relative angle from the current vehicle to the parking space.

  • The following research focuses on the formation method of digital space by organistic line extension among various digital formation methods. The paper reflects on the meaning and concept of today's digitalism which enables the application of complex organistic system on space through advanced technology. It also explores the concept of a line in topology which differs in assumptive meaning from traditional Euclidian geometry. The findings of the research are that first, digital space is not optimized, but is a tentative formation in process. A digital space encompasses characteristics such as infinity, possibility, potential, asymmetry, and the force of virtuality such characteristics are expressed through a moving surface constantly changing with direction. Second, a digital space formed by line extension is inseparable and durable since no measurement or dimension is predetermined. Furthermore, its sense of direction and flexibility gives it a feeling of a living organism. Third, a Euclidian methodology called 'NURBS' is being developed to express such a dynamic digital space; this is reflected through three elements, control point, weights, and knots to effectively reflect the characteristics of virtuality. The opportunities of digital space are infinite, and the possibilities of formation methods likewise vast.

A Strategy for Supporting the Learning Community in Cooperation with Industry

  • Learning community is one of the important pillars of the education in knowledge-based society. How to encourage students' spontaneous participation to the learning community is one of the actual problems to solve for the revolution of the education scheme. In this paper we introduce a strategy to boost the activity of the learning community, which works in the on-line space. The keys for the on-line supporting system for the learning community are to have communication space, trading space and connection with industry. To support activities of each space, we provide an on-line web site which includes a community module, a knowledge market module and an industrial commentary module. Students can start their self-leading study in the communication space, and they can also practice skills for the knowledge management in the knowledge trading space. Through the connection space, they can learn more from the real world critics with help of industry.

A Study on Finding the Rail Space in Elevators Using Matched Filter

  • In this paper, we study on finding the rail space in elevators by analyzing each image captured with CCD camera. We propose a method that applies one-dimensional matched filter to the pixels of a selected search space in the vertical line at a horizontal position and decides the position with the thickness of the space being represented by a black thick line in captured images. The pattern similarity representing how strongly the associated image pixels resemble with the thick line is defined and calculated with respect to each position along the vertical line of pixels. The position and thickness of the line are decided from the point having the maximum in pattern similarity graph. In the experiments of the proposed method under different illuminational conditions, it is observed that all the pattern similarity graphs show similar shape around door area independent of the conditions and the method can effectively detect the rail space if the rails are illuminated with even weak light. The method can be used for real-time embedded systems because of its simple algorithm, in which it is implemented in simple structure of program with small amount of operations in comparison with the conventional approaches using Canny edge detection and Hough transform.
