Most space-borne optical scanning systems adopt linear arrayconfigurations. The well-knownthree different types of space-borne sensors arealong-track line scanner, across-track linescanner, and three line scanner. To acquire accurate location information of an object on the ground withthose sensors, the exterior and interior orientation parameters are critical factors for both of space-borne and airborne missions. Since the imaging geometry of sensors mightchange time to time due to thermal influence, vibration, and wind, it is very important to analyze the Interior Orientation Parameters (IOP) effects on the ground. The experiments based on synthetic datasets arecarried out while the focal length biases are changing. Also, both high and low altitudes of the imagingsensor were applied. In case with the along-track line scanner, the focal length bias caused errors along the scanline direction. In the other case with the across-track one, the focal length bias caused errors alongthe scan line and vertical directions. Lastly, vertical errors were observed in the case ofthree-line scanner. Those results from this study will be able to provide the guideline for developing new linearsensors, so as for improving the accuracy of laboratory or in-flight sensor calibrations.
This study presents a color 3D scanner based on the laser structured-light imaging method that can simultaneously acquire 3D shape data and color of a target object using a single camera. The 3D data acquisition of the scanner is based on the structured-light imaging method, and the color data is obtained from a natural color image. Because both the laser image and the color image are acquired by the same camera, it is efficient to obtain the 3D data and the color data of a pixel by avoiding the complicated correspondence algorithm. In addition to the 3D data, the color data is helpful for enhancing the realism of an object model. The proposed scanner consists of two line lasers, a color camera, and a rotation table. The line lasers are deployed at either side of the camera to eliminate shadow areas of a target object. This study addresses the calibration methods for the parameters of the camera, the plane equations covered by the line lasers, and the center of the rotation table. Experimental results demonstrate the performance in terms of accurate color and 3D data acquisition in this study.

In this paper, laser marking systems dedicated to cylinderical parts was developed. We first develop the marking device which consists of Nd-Yag laser, galvano scanner and additional rotational axis, then develop algorithm for supporting the digital image with bmp data format. Additional rotational axis is so attached as to rotate the cylinderical parts for marking its whole surface. The image is separated into line by line and the separated line image is sent to galvano scanner while rotating the additional axis simultaneously. CxImage library, famous open source code, is employed for the image processing. The developed method was tested with various images and shows that it reduces marking time significantly without reducing marking quality.
In our contribution, the new idea of parking/moving discrimination is proposed by using Three Line Scanner Imagery. The framework of our study consists of three main stages: preprocessing, vehicle detection and parking/moving detection respectively. First two stages of framework have been done in our previous work. Parking/ Moving Discrimination algorithm have been developed by using generic vehicle characteristics and some principle of photogrammetry. By using detected vehicles from our previous work, stopping/moving vehicles are able to discriminate. Moving vehicle is detected by detecting generic moving vehicle in TLS, inter-band gap. Stopping vehicle is verified by 3 dimensional viewing of Stereoscopic measurement. Finally, the conceptual framework has been done and the result will been realized soon.

The positions, attitudes, and internal orientation parameters of three line scanners are critical factors in order to acquire the accurate location of objects on the ground. Based on the assumption that positions and attitudes of the sensors are derived either from direct geo-referencing which of using Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and Inertial Navigation Systems (INS), or from indirect geo-referencing which of using Ground Control Points (GCPs), this paper describes on biased effects of Internal Orientation Parameter (IOP) on the ground. The research concentrated on geometrical explanations of effects from different focal length biases on the ground. The Synthetic data was collected by reasonable flight trajectories and attitudes of three line scanners. The result of experiments demonstrated that the focal length bias in case of indirect geo-referencing does not have critical influences on the quality of reconstructed ground space. Also, the relationships between IO parameters and EO parameters were found by the correlation analysis. In fact, the focal length bias in case of the direct geo-referencing caused significant errors on coordinates of reconstructed objects. The RMSE values along the vertical direction and the amount of focal length bias turned out to be almost perfect linear relationship.
The extraction of 3D road network from high-resolution aerial images is still one of the current challenges in digital photogrammetry and computer vision. For many years, there are many researcher groups working for this task, but unt il now, there are no papers for doing this with TLS (Three linear scanner), which has been developed for the past several years, and has very high-resolution (about 3 cm in ground resolution). In this paper, we present a methodology of road extraction from high-resolution digital imagery taken over urban areas using this modern photogrammetry’s scanner (TLS). The key features of the approach are: (1) Because of high resolution of TLS image, our extraction method is especially designed for constructing 3D road map for next -generation digital navigation map; (2) for extracting road, we use the global context of the intensity variations associated with different features of road (i.e. zebra line and center line), prior to any local edge. So extraction can become comparatively easy, because we can use different special edge detector according different features. The results achieved with our approach show that it is possible and economic to extract 3D road data from Three Linear Scanner to construct next -generation digital navigation road map.
Image quality analysis has been carried out for both monochrome and colour print images obtained by a calibrated low-end scanner. The analysis method is based upon ISO13660 for monochrome images and additional criteria for colour quality that we have defined. We have compared performance of the calibrated scanner with that of a high-end spectrophotometer in terms of several aspects such as line and large area. They have provided similar results without significant discrepancy.
This study aims to establish interior orientation for various types of sensors including frame cameras, panoramic cameras, line cameras, and whisk-broom scanners. To do so, this study suggests the classification of components of interior orientation of which elements are different according to the sensors. This is entailed by incorporation of sensor characteristics into mathematical models of interior orientation parameters are suggested for being used as guidelines in recovering systematic distortions. Finally, the potential errors resulted from the assumption of regarding sensor model of whisk-broom scanner model as that of push-broom scanner are discussed.

The goal of this study is to segment building points effectively utilizing scan-line characteristics of airborne laser scanner. Points are classified as to their altitude similarity and adjacency with other classified points, and point searching range for the classification is restricted within some number of scan-lines, preventing classification speed from lowering as the process goes on. Besides, we detected wrong discrimination of one object into more than two classes, then integrated them into a single class. Consequently we could discriminate points of each building from others, its annexes and none building points simultaneously.

This paper proposes a method using the straight line Hough transform(SLHT) that recognizes the position
of DNA band images from the scanner. The method also detects and corrects automatically the leaning
angle of the image. After binarization of a gray-scale DNA band images, the SLHT detects line
components involved in the image and recognizes the position of the image using the cross paints of
the line components assuming the image is in retangular shape. To improve efficiency of reading many
IINA band images through the scanner, this method finds and corrects the leaning angle accurately as
less than -t I degree.
