전기투석에 의한 니켈도금 폐수처리 공정에서 한계전류밀도와 불균질 이온교환막의 재생 (The Limiting Current Density and the Regeneration of a Heterogeneous Ion Exchange Membrane in a Nickel Plating Rinse Waters Treatment Process by Electrodialysis)

  • In this work, the heterogeneous ion exchange membrane was used in a electrodialysis apparatus to treat a Ni planting rinse water because the heterogeneous ion exchange membrane was excellent efficiency as compared with low manufacturing cost, was easy to make, and had a good mechanical properties. For a regeneration of membrane and to obtain the optimal condition for a scale-up of apparatus after treating Ni plating rinse water, we would find about the limiting current density and the concentration polarization. When the Ni plating rinse water 150mg/L was treated with the electrodialysis apparatus using the heterogeneous ion exchange membrane, the limiting current density was about $1.49{\;}mA/\textrm{cm}^2$. And the limiting current density increased with the flow rate and concentration of Ni plating rinse water. We recognized that the used membrane could be reused by periodic backwashing because efficiency was constant when the membrane was backwashed after treating wastewater.

  • Availability is an important characteristic of a repairable component. Iyer(1992) obtained the 'limiting efficiency'(not the `steady state availability') of the age-dependent minimal repair model which was first considered by Block et al.(1985). However the existence of the steady state availability of the model has not been reported. In this note, the existence of the steady state availability of the model is shown and a brief remark on the importance of the property is given.

다중벽 탄소 나노튜브 현탁액의 광 리미팅 특성 (Optical Limiting Properties of Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotube Suspensions)

  • 광 리미터는 입사광의 세기가 커질때 투과율을 줄여서 눈과 센서를 보호하는 광소자이다. 최근에 높은 효율의 광 리미터 재료로 알려진 다중벽 탄소 나노튜브 분말을 증류수, 클로로포름, 에탄올, 에틸렌 글리콜과 같은 용매에 각각 섞어 현탁액을 만들고 실온에서 용매의 끓는점까지 온도를 변화시키면서 광 리미팅 효율의 변화를 관측하였다. 광원으로는 펄스폭이 6 ns이고 파장이 1064 nm인 Q-스위칭된 Nd:YAG 레이저 펄스를 사용하였다. 관측 결과, 다중벽 탄소 나노튜브 현탁액의 온도가 증가할수록 광 리미팅 효율이 나빠졌고 현탁액 용매의 끓는점, 점도 그리고 표면장력 값이 낮을수록 광 리미팅 효율이 좋아짐을 확인하였다.

On Multipurpose Replacement Policies for the General Failure Model

  • In this paper, various replacement policies for the general failure model are considered. There are two types of failure in the general failure model. One is Type I failure (minor failure) which can be removed by a minimal repair and the other is Type II failure (catastrophic failure) which can be removed only by a complete repair. In this model, when the unit fails at its age t, Type I failure occurs with probability 1-p(t) and Type II failure occurs with probability p(t), $0{\leq}p(t){\leq}1$. Under the model, optimal replacement policies for the long-run average cost rate and the limiting efficiency are considered. Also taking the cost and the efficiency into consideration at the same time, the properties of the optimal policies under the Cost-Priority-Criterion and the Efficiency-Priority-Criterion are obtained.

  • This study is to discuss limiting factors influenced on the removal efficiency of organic materials investigated using the polypropyrene biofilter which appropriate to attach micro-organism in order to apply the contact oxidation proce,:5. The results obtained in the experiment were as follows : 1. In the range o: pH 4.0~ 12.0 was obtained the removal efficiency of COD higher than 85% It was proved that variation of pH(4.0 ~ 12.0) was nothing to do with the removal efficiency of substrate in continuous reactor. 2. Temperature to obtain removal efficiency of COD higher than 85% was $10^{\circ}$ ~$40^{\circ}$. Removal efficiency of COD was no less than those at high temperature if MLVSS concentration was maintained 8,000~ 15,000 m/1. 3. In the continuous reactor, the volumetric loading of COD for removal efficiency higher than 95% had to be 0.5~1.5 kg COD/.d below. And then the HRT was Bhrs. 4. In comparison with the conventional activate sludge process, the contact oxidation process was excellent in removal efficiency, sludge production rate and maintenance.

다차원 압축성 유동 해석을 위한 MLP 기법의 개발 (Development of Multi-dimensional Limiting Process for Multi-dimensional Compressible Flow)

  • 본 논문에서는 불연속면이 포함된 다차원 유동에서 흔히 발생하는 수치적 진동현상을 막기 위해 기존의 TVD 제한자를 분석함으로써 새로운 형태의 다차원 제한 함수를 유도하였다. MLP 기법은 유도된 다차원 제한 함수를 기반으로 하며, 다차원 불연속면에서의 수치 진동을 효과적으로 제거하고 동시에 3차 이상의 공간 정확도 내삽기법과 함께 사용할 수 있다는 장점을 갖는다. 또한, 정상 유동의 경우 수치 진동이 제거됨으로써 수렴성이 향상됨을 확인할 수 있었고, 실제 코드에 적용하는 방법도 간단하다. MLP 기법을 적용함으로써 불연속 유동 뿐 만 아니라 연속 유동에서도 정확성, 효율성, 강건성 면에서 향상된 결과를 얻을 수 있음을 여러 가지 수치 실험을 통하여 확인하였다.

Effects of Process Variables on The Electrochemical Recovery of Palladium in A HCl Solution

  • This study investigated the electrochemical recovery of palladium in a HCl solution that is used for palladium leaching. The high acidity of HCl solution and the low concentration of Pd ions increased the cathodic overpotential and reduced the limiting current density. Lowering the current density produced dense deposits; however, they were under high tensile stress. Raising the temperature affected both the densification and the stress, which enabled the attainment of dense Pd deposits under low stress. Lowering the current density and raising the temperature up to 70$^{\circ}C$ was recommended for the recovery of palladium as sound bulk Pd deposits. Current efficiency was over 85% at the initial stage of recovery may decrease the current efficiency, since a low Pd ion concentration results in a low limiting current density.

NUMERICAL SOLUTION FOR ROBOT ARM PROBLEM USING LIMITING FORMULAS OF RK(7,8)

  • The aim of this article is focused on providing numerical solutions for system of second order robot arm problem using the RK-eight stage seventh order limiting formulas. The parameters governing the arm model of a robot control problem have also been discussed through RK-eight stage seventh order limiting algorithm. The precised solution of the system of equations representing the arm model of a robot has been compared with the corresponding approximate solutions at different time intervals. Results and comparison show the efficiency of the numerical integration algorithm based on the absolute error between the exact and approximate solutions. Based on the numerical results a thorough comparison is carried out between the numerical algorithms.

한계전류밀도 이상에서 전기투석공정의 운전 (Operation of Electrodialysis at Over Limiting Current Density)

  • 이온교환막의 전압-전류곡선의 plateau length를 결정하는 변수를 다양한 NaCl 농도와 유속 하에서 연구하였다. 또한, 한계전류밀도 이상의 전류에서 전기투석공정 운전의 타당성을 검토하기 위해 다양한 전류밀도의 전원을 공급하면서 0.1 M NaCl 용액의 탈염실험을 실시하여 이온의 제거효율, 전류효율, 에너지소비량, 물 분해 현상을 측정하였다. NaCl 용액의 농도와 유속이 감소하면서 확산경계층의 두께도 함께 감소하였으며, 본 확산경계층의 두께는 plateau length와도 밀접한 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 탈염실험에서 측정된 이온 제거 효율 및 전류효율은 한계전류밀도 이상에서도 한계전류밀도 이하에서의 탈염실험과 크게 차이 나지 않은 것으로 보아 한계전류밀도 이상에서도 대부분의 전류는 이온교환막 표면의 물분해에 의한 것이 아니라 막을 통한 이온의 이동에 의한 것으로 사료된다. 한계전류밀도 이상에서의 탈염운전에 대한 에너지소비량은 plateau length의 영향으로 한계전류밀도 이하에서의 탈염운전 보다 다소 높지만, 한계전류밀도 이상에서는 전류밀도의 증가에도 에너지소비량이 증가하지 않았다. 이러한 결과들은 물분해 현상이 심각하게 일어나지 않는 한 한계전류밀도 이상에서도 매우 경제적으로 전기투석 공정을 운전찬 수 있다는 것을 제시해 주는 것이다.

  • Electrical equipment in factories, buildings, etc. with the development of the industry has become a large capacity. By the development, electric load also become diversified and there is also highly functional requirements being electrical equipment. Particularly in the small and medium-sized circuit breakers, tend to preferentially consider the economy stands out and improvements in safety, ease of mounting and connection through the modularity of the basic dimensions compact and cost to block expansion of the scope of the development of capacity, etc. The product having a competitive has been strongly required. In order to implement the circuit breakers of breaking capacity and compact at the same time taking into account the economic development of this technology applied to the current-limiting mechanism is essential budget or the current limiting mechanism is currently available mechanisms applicable to small and medium-sized frame (frame) can not do it. In this paper, at the same time satisfying the economic efficiency, by minimizing the load force of the moving contactor (moving contactor) to be applied to small and medium frame other hand to secure the economical efficiency without using high speed contact parting acceleration of the moving contactor conventional current-limiting mechanism, and to develop a current-limiting mechanism that can be satisfied with the same or higher performance to meet the needs of the market.
