Observer-Based Adaptive Guidance Law Considering Target Uncertainties and Control Loop Dynamics (목표물의 불확실성과 제어루프 특성을 고려한 추정기 기반 적응 유도기법)

  • This paper proposes an observer-based method for adaptive nonlinear guidance. Previously, adaptive nonlinear guidance law is proposed considering target maneuver and control loop dynamics. However, several information of this guidance law is not available, and therefore needs to be estimated for more practical application. Accordingly, considering the unavailable information as bounded time-varying uncertainties, an integrated guidance and control model is re-formulated in normal form with respect to available states including target uncertainties and control loop dynamics. Then, a nonlinear observer is designed based on the integrated guidance and control model. Finally, using the estimates for states and uncertainties, an observer-based adaptive guidance law is proposed to guarantee the desired interception performance against maneuvering target. The proposed approach can be effectively used against target maneuver and the limited performance of control loop. The stability analyses and simulations of the proposed observer and guidance law are included to demonstrate the practical application of our scheme.

  • Due to the limited field of view of the pinhole camera, there is a lack of stability and accuracy in camera pose estimation applications such as visual SLAM. Nowadays, multiple-camera setups and large field of cameras are used to solve such issues. However, a multiple-camera system increases the computation complexity of the algorithm. Therefore, in multiple camera-assisted visual simultaneous localization and mapping (vSLAM) the multi-view tracking algorithm is proposed that can be used to balance the budget of the features in tracking and local mapping. The proposed algorithm is based on PanoSLAM architecture with a panoramic camera model. To avoid the scale issue 3D LiDAR is fused with omnidirectional camera setup. The depth is directly estimated from 3D LiDAR and the remaining features are triangulated from pose information. To validate the method, we collected a dataset from the outdoor environment and performed extensive experiments. The accuracy was measured by the absolute trajectory error which shows comparable robustness in various environments.

  • The quinolone antibiotics Ciprofloxacin shows broad antimicrobial spectrum, heat stability, limited water solubility, and similar structure and size to disperse dyes. The object of this study is to develop the infection-resistant medical extile material by applying Ciprofloxacin to a series of polyester materials such as PET, PDO, PLA, and PGA. All the Ciprofloxacin compound polyester materials demonstrated the superior antimicrobial activity to the organisms S. aureus and E. coli.

  • The wind power generation systems have a fluctuating or intermittent power output due to the variability of the wind speed. The amount of wind generation which can be connected to the grid without causing voltage stability problems is limited. In this study, the simulation of the wind power generation including energy storage system were performed to reduce the fluctuation of wind power output and to obtain the optimal operation planning of energy storage system.

  • $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$ is emerging as a promising material with its good structure stability and little volume change during the electrochemical reaction. However, its electrochemical performance is significantly limited by low electronic or ionic conductivity. In addition, high tap density is needed forim proving its volumetric energy density and commercialization. To enhance these properties, the spherical-like $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$ particles were synthesized and carried out doping with yttrium. Prepared Y-doped $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$ as a anode material showed great capacity retention rate of 92% (5C/0.2C), compared with no dope done. Consequently, it was found that Y doping into $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$ matrix reduces the polarization and resistance on SEI layer during the electrochemical reaction.

  • This paper presents the design case of the 3-arch tunnel under existing railways and railway station building. The original construction method was the underpinning method supported by pipe-roof, but it was changed to the minded tunnelling method because of the complex construction condition and the safety problem. This 3-arch tunnel has a width of 28 meters and a height of 10 meters. Overburden is only 23m and the ground consists of the weathered soil and rock. Because the allowable settlements for the station building and railways are limited strictly, various measurements for the tunnel stability and the settlement minimization was considered.

  • Recently many adaptive control schemes for the industrial robot manipulator have been developed. Especially, learning control utilizing the repetitive motion of robot and based on iterative signal synthesis attracts much interests. However, since most of these approaches excludes the boundness of the input torque supplied to the manipulator, its effectiveness may be limited and also the full dynamic capacity of the robot manipulator can not be utilized. To overcome the above-mentioned difficulties and meet the desired performance, we propose an approach which yields the effective learning control schemes in this paper. In this study, some stability conditions derived from applying the Lyapunov theory to the discrete linear time-varying dynamic system are established and also an optimization scheme considering the bounded input torque is introduced. These results are simulated on a digital computer using a three-joint revolute manipulator to show their effectiveness.

  • This paper presents an efficient 5-axis roughing method for centrifugal impeller. The efficient roughing is minimization of cutting time through minimizing tool tilting and rotating motions. To minimized cutting time, machining area is divided into sub-cutting regions using control points on hub curves and shroud curves of blade used to design and analyze centrifugal impeller. For sub-cutting regions, diameters of cutting tools are determined as big as possible. Then, tool paths are generated with the tilting axis and rotating axis of 5-axis machine limited and fixed, which can give more efficient machining speed and machining stability than the conventional methods. Experimental results show that the proposed method is more efficient than the conventional methods to mill with the only one cutting tool without dividing area and the previous methods to mill with simultaneous 5-axis processing with dividing area.

  • A remote control strategy for vehicles in Intelligent Vehicle Highway System (IVHS) is considered. An optimal scheduling of a limited communication channel is proposed for lead vehicle control in a platoon. The optimal scheduling problem is to find the optimal communication sequence that minimizes the cost obtained inherently by an optimal control without the communication constraint. In this paper, the PID control law which guarantees the string stability is used for the lead vehicle control. The fact that the PID control law is equivalent to the approximately linear quadratic tracker allows to obtain the performance measure to find an optimal sequence. Simulations are conducted with five maneuvering platoons to evaluate the optimality of the obtained sequence.

  • There was little development in transparent conductive polymer films and their limited studies have been mainly focused on polymer films coated by water-soluble PEDOT doped with the polymeric counteranion poly(4-styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT-PSS)[1-3]. However PEDOT-PSS as coating material has some difficulties because of high viscosity and low solubility in organic solvent except for in water. In this study, in order to extend practical applications of PEDOT and to prepare conductive PC films, we tried to prepare PEDOT-coated PC films and investigated their conductivity and thermal stability.
