  • Purpose: This correlational study was conducted to determine the relationship between health status and ego integrity of permanent elderly returnees from Sakhalin. Methods: We surveyed 94 permanent elderly returnees from Sakhalin, living in Gimpo, Korea. Data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 18.0 program for descriptive statistics, t-test, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: The mean score of total health status was 3.7 on a 5 point Likert scale. The mean score of ego integrity was 3.6 on a 5 point Likert scale. The health status showed significant correlation with the ego integrity of the permanent elderly returnees from Sakhalin. Conclusion: In the present study, although the health status of the permanent elderly returnees from Sakhalin appeared to be good, the lack of awareness about health care and the need for ego integrity, is in itself the actual suffering. Thus by providing health education along with medical information can enhance the health management. And, this practice can be self regulating for the society and can provide institutional support for the permanent elderly returnees from Sakhalin, which they require.

Methods: This is a cross-sectional study. A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 486 dental hygiene students in for colleges Jellabukdo from March to June, 2016. The study instrument included general characteristics of the subjects, critical thinking disposition, and self-efficacy. The instrument for critical thinking disposition was adapted from Yoon and consisted of intellectual zeal/curiosity, prudence, self-confidence, systemicity, intellectual impartiality, sound skepticism, and objectivity. Each question was measured by Likert 5 point scale. Cronbach's alpha was 0.73 in the study. The instrument for self-efficacy was adapted from Kim and consisted of self-efficacy confidence, self-regulation efficacy, and task difficulty choice using Likert 5 point scale. Cronbach's alpha was 0.73 in the study. Results: The correlation between critical thinking disposition and details of each area showed a strong correlation. The strongest positive correlation in passion was 0.721 for curiosity and critical thinking disposition overall(p<0.01). Conclusions: It is necessary to develop the program for critical thinking disposition and self-efficacy in the dental hygiene students.

  • Artificial ground greening has been developed gradually in accordance with increasing demands of out-door space in Apartment complexes. Nowadays other social demand, environmental load abatement, needs qualitative growth of artificial ground greening as well as quantitative growth. So the objects of this study would be seizing and analyzing changeable items in artificial ground greening in the future, and show drafting materials for the development of spheres in connected with artificial ground greening. For this study, Delphi method was applied. First, three groups of panel, 48 people, were selected. Second, set up items of changes possible in the future from the first questionnaire and additional inquiry. Third, made up the second questionnaire of change possible in the future with Likert summated scale, and finally one way - ANOVA executed; independent variables were items of changes, and dependent variables were three groups of panel. To conclude, although limits of this study, we could glance over general flows and changes in artificial ground greening, and discover items which are hardly changeable and necessary to change in present condition of artificial ground greening.

Methods: Self-administered questionnaires were used to collect data from 199 JCI-accredited nurses in general hospitals located in Gyeonggi Province. Data collection was done in May 2015 and analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}^{\prime}s$ test, and Pearson correlation coefficients. Results: The scores for perception, and nursing performance were (on a five-point Likert scale) 3.34, 3.78 respectively, and self-concept and retention intention were (on a eight-point Likert scale) 5.40 and 5.21 respectively. Nurses' perception, nursing performance, self-concept, and retention intention showed significant differences depending on age, marital status, education, department, work experience, position, Korean accreditation, and JCI accreditation. A positive correlation was observed between perception, nursing performance, self-concept, and retention intention. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that enhancing positive perception and good nursing performance can produce good self-concept and retention intention.

  • The construction industry highly depends on each specialized manager which is essential to successful project. However, a new employee, who has just graduated from architectural engineering college, is requested additional education for 1~2 years such as On-the-Job-Training (O.J.T) to perform his/her professional job in construction site. It is wasteful for both construction company and the employee in terms of time and cost. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the required abilities and analyze the gap of demanded abilities between field managers and students. To collect data for analysis, questionnaire which uses Likert Scale has been performed to both parts. As a result, the analysis show that the graduate's abilities related to field experience get especially low degrees in compare with non-field experience factors. These results will contribute architectural engineering education in college to make more realized.

  • This study was conducted to develop the PBL module using simulation(S-PBL), to apply it to the physical therapy curricula, and its effect on students; learning contents, learning process, and its overall impacts. The S-PBL module was apply on 47 students of first year physical therapy in Jeju Halla College for 8 weeks from 2005 Feb to April. The data was analyzed via SPSS 10.0; the evaluation of learning contents and process was divided into 5 areas; the learning impacts in 4 areas. The research sought average and standard deviations. The students; satisfaction regarding S-PBL learning contents and process averaged >3.5 (on the Likert Scale of 1 thru 5) which indicated high learning achievement. For the learning impact, using an S-PBL module, it averaged >2.8 (on the Likert Scale of 1 thru 4) which indicated high learning impact. Significantly, the students showed high satisfaction in the areas of clinical practicum, the learning process, the opportunity to participate in clinical affiliation, and motivation for acquiring professional knowledge. This study proved that the application of S-PBL is effective for the physical therapy students; ability to carry out physical therapy, and it is also worth to apply in the physical therapy curricula to improve the students; participation in clinical skills.

  • The two-way quality theory has been widely used as a method for classifying quality attributes for several decades. In particular, the Kano model that classifies attributes into not just conventional one-dimensional but must-be and attractive has gained popularity due to its applicability and ease of use. However, the wordings of the five alternatives in the Kano's questionnaire has been criticised for unclear meanings. This study proposes a new two-way model to classify attributes using 5-point Likert scale alternatives. For this, the current paper investigated a case of TV sets to examine how the proposed model works in comparison with the Kano model. The application results of the proposed model are different from the original one. The two-way model classifies quality attributes in more detail such as the "one-dimensional with an attractive tendency" attribute, which has a greater influence on satisfaction than dissatisfaction, the opposite "one-dimensional with a must-be tendency" attribute, and "highly one-dimensional" and "less one-dimensional" attributes. In this study, a potential satisfaction coefficient (PSC), a potential dissatisfaction coefficient (PDC), and an average potential coefficient (APC) to manage quality attributes are proposed and discussed for their utilization.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and validate a model for diagnosing core competencies at the higher education level. Based on literature reviews, a potential model for core competencies at university was suggested. A tool for validating the model was composed of 24 items, which were delivered to 226 professors and administrative staffs, 730 students, and 134 graduates & external industrial experts. Five constructs (core competencies) were extracted from the data collected among professors and administrative staff responding to the importance of the items. The results of importance and performance surveys on core competencies with students were respectively 3.28 to 3.66 and 2.68 to 3.28 (4-point Likert scale). Statistical differences between importance level and performance level were found in all the sub-categories of core competencies. Borich priority determination formula and Locus for Focus Model were used for the determination of the priority of needs. Importance survey among graduates and external experts showed that the mean of each items ranged from 2.80 to 3.76 (4-point Likert scale). The overall results of the analyses suggest that the final model is appropriate for measuring the core competencies.
