This study uses recycled green building materials based on a Taiwan-made recycled mineral admixture (including fly ash, slag, glass sand and rubber powder) as replacements for fine aggregates in concrete and tests the properties of the resulting mixtures. Fine aggregate contents of 5% and 10% were replaced by waste LCD glass sand and waste tire rubber powder, respectively. According to ACI concrete-mixture design, the above materials were mixed into lightweight aggregate concrete at a constant water-to-binder ratio (W/B = 0.4). Hardening (mechanical), non-destructive and durability tests were then performed at curing ages of 7, 28, 56 and 91 days and the engineering properties were studied. The results of these experiments showed that, although they vary with the type of recycling green building material added, the slumps of these admixtures meet design requirements. Lightweight aggregate yields better hardened properties than normal-weight concrete, indicating that green building materials can be successfully applied in lightweight aggregate concrete, enabling an increase in the use of green building materials, the improved utilization of waste resources, and environmental protection. In addition to representing an important part of a "sustainable cycle of development", green building materials represent a beneficial reutilization of waste resources.
This paper summarizes the results of experimental research, and artificial intelligence methods focused on determination of compressive strength of lightweight cement mortar with silica fume and fly ash after sulfate attack. The artificial neural network and the support vector machine were selected as artificial intelligence methods. Lightweight cement mortar mixtures containing silica fume and fly ash were prepared in this study. After specimens were cured in $20{\pm}2^{\circ}C$ waters for 28 days, the specimens were cured in different sulfate concentrations (0%, 1% $MgSO_4^{-2}$, 2% $MgSO_4^{-2}$, and 4% $MgSO_4^{-2}$ for 28, 60, 90, 120, 150, 180, 210 and 365 days. At the end of these curing periods, the compressive strengths of lightweight cement mortars were tested. The input variables for the artificial neural network and the support vector machine were selected as the amount of cement, the amount of fly ash, the amount of silica fumes, the amount of aggregates, the sulfate percentage, and the curing time. The compressive strength of the lightweight cement mortar was the output variable. The model results were compared with the experimental results. The best prediction results were obtained from the artificial neural network model with the Powell-Beale conjugate gradient backpropagation training algorithm.

In recent years, the construction industry has a tendency to increase of high-rise builidngs. High rise buildings can use limited space efficiently. But High rise buildings have problem that have extremely heavy weight. Various studies are being conducted to reduce the weight of buildings. Although lightweight aggregate is a meterial that can effectively reduce the weight of buildings, the strength of the aggregate itself is weak and the absorption rate is high, so the strength of the ITZ(Interfacial Transition Zone) area is weak. Therefore, it is essential to improve the interfacial area when using lightweight aggregates. In this study, an experiment was conducted to improve the adhesion between the aggregate and cement paste and to strengthen the interfacial area by coating the surface of the lighteight aggregate with Blast Furnace Slag. To confirm the improvement, compressive strength and EIS(Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy) measurements were perfromed. Using EIS, the change in electrical resistance of the cement hardened body was confirmed. As a result, it was confirmed that the lightweight aggregate coated on the surface showed highter compressive strength and electrical resistance than the non-coated lightweight aggregate, and that the coating material was filled in the interfacial area and inside the aggregate that helped to strengthen the compresssive strength and higher electrical resistance.

In recent days. it is necessary to find environment-friendly way of diposing industrial waste and reclying system. So this study will analyze the property of Porous concrete improved by concrete waste powder and recycled lightweight aggregate and then suggest the ways of reclying. The method deals with experimenting unit weight of capacity. thermal conductivity, compression and ultrasonic pluse velocity. Considering the relation between ultrasonic pluse velocity and unit weight & thermal conductivity through the graph. the result of relation between ultrasonic pluse velocity and unit weight & thermal conductivity on the graph expessed their high interaction shown as direct proportion on the graph. Recycled Porous concrete merits lightweight and adiabatic. Therefore. we will expect that the current using ALC and Recycled Porous concrete has be similar thermal conductivity.

Typical high-performance concrete (HPC) mixtures are characterized by low water-cementitious material ratios, high cement contents, and the incorporation of admixtures. In spite of its superior properties in the hardened state, HPC suffers from many practical difficulties such as its sensitivity to early-age cracking (which is associated with self-desiccation and autogenous shrinkage). In this context, conventional curing procedures are not sufficiently effective to address these limitations. In order to overcome this issue, two strategies, which are based on the use of internal reservoirs of water, have been recently developed. One of these strategies is based on the use of lightweight aggregates (LWA), while the other is based on the use of superabsorbent polymers (SAP). This paper studies and compares the efficiency of the LWA and SAP approaches. Moreover, some of the theoretical aspects that should be taken into account to optimize their application for internal curing of HPC are also discussed. Two fine LWA's and one SAP are studied in terms of autogenous deformation and compressive strength. Increasing the amounts of LWAor SAP can lead to a reduction of the autogenous deformation and compressive strength (especially when adding large amounts). By selecting appropriate materials and controlling their amount, size, and porosity, highly efficient internal water curing can be ensured.

The artificial lightweight aggregate (ALA) was manufactured in a rotary kiln at $1125^{\circ}C$ using green body formed by pelletizing the batch powder composing of coal bottom ash (CBA) produced from power plant, clay and dredged soil (DS). The TCLP (Toxicity characteristic leaching procedure) results showed that the dissolution concentration of heavy metal ions of ALA fabricated in this study was below the limitation defined by the enforcement regulations of wastes management law in Korea. The ALA containing 60$\sim$70 wt% CBA had a bulk density of 1.45$\sim$1.49 and a water absorption of 17.2$\sim$18.5 %. The impact values for oven-dry state and saturated-surface dry state of ALA were 27.4$\pm$1.3 and 23.4$\pm$2.6 % respectively. The 28-days compressive strength of concrete made with various ALA was $22.7\sim27.8 N/mm^2$. The slump of concrete with ALA containing CBA 60 and 70 wt% were 7.9 and 14.3 cm respectively. The unit weight of concrete made with any ALA fabricated in this study was satisfied with the standard specifications of lightweight concrete for the civil engineering and construction presented by Korea as below $1.84 ton/m^3$.
The effect of the maximum aggregate size and substitution rate of natural sand on the mechanical properties of concrete is evaluated using 15 lightweight aggregate concrete mixes. For mechanical properties of concrete, compressive strength increase with respect to age, tensile resistance, elastic modulus, rupture modulus, and stress-strain relationship were measured. The experimental data were compared with the design equations specified in ACI 318-08, EC2, and/or CEB-FIP code provisions and empirical equations proposed by Slate et al., Yang et al., and Wang et al. The test results showed that compressive strength of lightweight concrete decreased with increase in maximum aggregate size and amount of lightweight fine aggregates. The parameters to predict the compressive strength development could be empirically formulated as a function of specific gravity of coarse aggregates and substitution rate of natural sand. The measured rupture modulus and tensile strength of concrete were commonly less than the prediction values obtained from code provisions or empirical equations, which can be attributed to the tensile resistance of lightweight aggregate concrete being significantly affected by its density as well as compressive strength.

The artificial lightweight aggregate (ALA) was manufactured using coal bottom ashes produced from a thermoelectric power plant with clay and, the sintering temperature and batch composition dependence upon physical properties of ALA were studied. The bottom ash (BA) had 13wt% coarse particle (>4.75mm) and showed very irregular shape so should be crushed to fine particles to be formed with clay by extrusion process. Also the bottom ash contained a many unburned carbon which generates the gas by oxidation and lighten a aggregate during a sintering process. Plastic index of green bodies decreased with increasing bottom ash content but the extrusion forming process was possible for the green body containing BA up to 40wt% whose plastic index and plastic limit were around 10 and 22 respectively. The ALA containing $30{\sim}40wt%$ BA sintered at $1100{\sim}1200^{\circ}C$ showed a volume specific density of $1.3{\sim}1.5$ and water absorption of $13{\sim}15%$ and could be appled for high-rise building and super-long bridge.

In this paper, the properties of reclaimed ash(RA) from various domestic thermal power plants(S, D and H) were analyzed, and the possibility of fabricating the artificial lightweight aggregate(ALA) using RA was studied. The chemical compositions of RA are similar to the clay, but it had higher concentrations of alkali earth metal oxides(CaO, MgO) and unburned-carbon. The TCLP(Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure) results showed that the dissolution concentrations of heavy metal ions of RA were below the limitation defined by the enforcement regulation of wastes management law in Korea. The results of IC analysis showed that leaching concentration of $Cl^-$ ion was 124 ppm for RA of HN and ${SO_4}^{2-}$ ion was leached a few hundreds ppm for all RA in this study. The ALAs with various mass ratio of clay to reclaimed ash(RA:Clay = 7:3, 6:4, 5:5, 4:6, 3:7) were sintered with a electric muffle furnace at the temperature of $1050{\sim}1200^{\circ}C$. The specific gravity and water absorption(%) of the sintered ALAs were 1.1~1.8 and 10~30% respectively. The ALA sintered in the rotary kiln at $1125^{\circ}C$ showed a bulk density of 1.7 and water absorption of 15.2%.
