  • The compressive strength test, bulk density and mortar absorption ratio were carried out to utilize the data as the basic sources for the lightweight mortar and the lightweight concrete, through the study on the physical characteristics of the artificial lightweight aggregate (ALA) made of waste glasses, which was developed for the first time in the country. On the basis of these experiments, the density and the unit volume weight of the ALA showed the value less than 50% of the common aggregate due to the independent pore structure, and the mortar that contains ALA had no big difference from the Control mortar in the test of the absorption ratio. It is judged that this happens based on the internal independent pore structure of the ALA. In case of the mortar containing ALA, there was a tendency of declination in the compressive strength and the bending strength as the mixing rate is increasing, but all mortar showed more than 70% of the Control mortar compressive strength except for the La50 mortar. Hereafter, it is judged that according to the control of the mixing ratio of mineral admixing agent, water and cement, it will realize the equal strength to the control mortar, and the long term edurance is needed to be considered together.

  • The effect of the maximum aggregate size and substitution rate of natural sand on the mechanical properties of concrete is evaluated using 15 lightweight aggregate concrete mixes. For mechanical properties of concrete, compressive strength increase with respect to age, tensile resistance, elastic modulus, rupture modulus, and stress-strain relationship were measured. The experimental data were compared with the design equations specified in ACI 318-08, EC2, and/or CEB-FIP code provisions and empirical equations proposed by Slate et al., Yang et al., and Wang et al. The test results showed that compressive strength of lightweight concrete decreased with increase in maximum aggregate size and amount of lightweight fine aggregates. The parameters to predict the compressive strength development could be empirically formulated as a function of specific gravity of coarse aggregates and substitution rate of natural sand. The measured rupture modulus and tensile strength of concrete were commonly less than the prediction values obtained from code provisions or empirical equations, which can be attributed to the tensile resistance of lightweight aggregate concrete being significantly affected by its density as well as compressive strength.

  • Recently, digital contents including video and sound are created in various fields, transmitted to the cloud through the Internet, and then stored and used. In order to utilize digital content, it is essential to verify data integrity, and it is necessary to ensure network bandwidth efficiency of verified data. This paper describes the design and implementation of a server that maintains, manages, and provides data for verifying the integrity of video data. The server receives and stores image data from Logger, a module that acquires image data, and performs a function of providing data necessary for verification to Verifier, a module that verifies image data. Then, a lightweight Merkle tree is constructed using the hash value. The light-weight Merkle tree can quickly detect integrity violations without comparing individual hash values of the corresponding video frame changes of the video frame indexes of the two versions. A lightweight Merkle tree is constructed by generating a hash value of digital content so as to have network bandwidth efficiency, and the result of performing proof of integrity verification is presented.

  • This paper describes the development of a web-based interference verification system in the mold design process. Although several commercial CAD systems furnish interference verification functions, those systems are very expensive and inadequate to perform collaborative works over the Internet. In this paper, an efficient and precision hybrid interference verification algorithm for the web-based interference verification system over the distributed environment has been studied. The proposed system uses lightweight CAD files produced from the optimally transformed CAD data through ACIS kernel and InterOp. Collaborators related to the development of a new product are able to verify the interference verification over the Internet without commercial CAD systems. The system reduces production cost, errors and lead-time to the market. Validity of the developed system is confirmed through case studies.

  • This experimental study is performed by using artificial lightweight aggregate manufactured in laboratory, and the test results of it are compared with those using foreign materials in respect of design compressive strength, unit weight. The tests on strength characteristics such as bending, splitting tensile strength and on mechanical characteristics including σ-εcurve, elastic modulus, poisson's ratio are performed to provide the fundamental data required for the design. From this study, it is possible to obtain the high-strength concrete having compressive strength of 500 kg/㎠ and unit weight of 1.85-2.0 t/㎥. And also it is recommended that sandlightweight concrete having high specfic strength is more practical for general use.

  • Modern concrete high safety, constructability and economy due to advantages such as buildings used for more than about 70%, but due to the low thermal performance is essential, such as installation of additional insulation is required, and therefore increase the cost of construction, as well as the construction period and condensation Symptoms such as a domestic environment, such as to inhibit the problem by generating such an improvement has been desired. In this study, we want to present the base line data for the development of improved insulation performance concrete with analyzing and evaluating the Durable Properties of the concrete combination of hollow glass microsphere and lightweight aggregate.

  • To transfer the large size of data more quickly among cluster nodes, the lightweight messaging scheme has been developed. VIA(Virtual Interface Architecture) allows that user can directly communicate with network devices without any interference of kernel and has become a communication protocol for clusters. But one must spend a lot of time to be skillful with it because of difficulties of programming. Therefore, we propose an easier library called EVIL(Easy-to-use Virtual Interface Library) that developers can easily deal with. We evaluated the performance of EVIL, Native VIA, TCP/IP respectively.

  • Perforated shear connectors currently used in composite steel and concrete structures are described and evaluated. Modifications of the perforated connector suitable for common use injavascript:confirm_mark('abe', '1'); civil and bridge engineering are proposed. The connectors were tested in laboratories of CTU Prague for shear load capacity. Push tests of connectors with 32 mm openings and with 60 mm openings, both in normal and lightweight concrete of different strength characteristics and with different transverse reinforcement, were carried out. The experimental study also dealt with the connector height and parallel arrangement of two connectors and their influence on shear resistance. While extensive tests with static loading were carried out, fatigue tests under repeated loading are still in progress. After statistical evaluation of the experimental results and comparisons with other available data the authors developed reasonable shear resistance formulas for all proposed arrangements.

  • The purpose of this study is recycling of sewage sludge and fly-ash. In this experiment, green aggregates, which is a mixture of sewage sludge and clay and fly-ash, with different content of sewage sludge (up to $80wt\%$). Then they were burned in different soak temperatures from $1190^{\circ}C\;to\;1290^{\circ}C$ with changed soak time and heating rate at 5, 7, 10 minutes and $20^{\circ}C/min$, $30^{\circ}C/min$ respectively in order to produce lightweight aggregate (LWA). Data of both experiment series were generated to evaluate the quality of LWA as well as the relationship between burning condition and product's quality.

  • The purpose of this research is to comprehend experimentally the characteristic of human dynamic load and provide the result as basic data to suggest a valid impact-resistance evaluation method. Human motions exerting dynamic load are classified to 3 types. Selecting 3 ranks of motion strength, 3 ranks of load plane stiffness (A:20kN/cm, B:4.7kN/cm, C:2.2kN/cm), and 30 male grownup inspectors in their twenties, load was measured when they applied force on load plane. Result of this research is as follows: (1) Human dynamic load has different nature from object collision in the highest load ratio depending on the load plane stiffness and action time (2) The highest load ratio for each motion was 10.06 for kicking, 4.44 for hitting with shoulder, and 5.58 for fist blow.
