보건계열 대학생의 의사소통 능력이 대학 생활 적응에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Communication Ability of Health-Related Majoring Students on College Life Adjustment)

  • Purpose : This study aimed to investigate the effects of health science majors' communication skills on their adjustment to college life. Methods : The subjects were 336 college students majoring in health science at colleges located in Busan. The survey's questionnaire comprised 38 items, including 15 items for communication skills and 19 items for adjustment to college life. Results : In the gender-based comparison of communication skills and adjustment to college life, female students had better communication skills, with overall higher scores than male students for the understanding others and communication. In the age-based comparison of communication skills and adjustment to college life, students aged 21 to 22 showed the best communication skills, while students aged 18 to 20 exhibited the least communication skills. In terms of adjustment to college life, those aged 25 or older scored the highest, and those aged 21 to 22 scored the lowest. In the school-year-based comparison of communication skills and adjustment to college life, third- and first-year students showed the best and least communication skills, respectively. Overall, third- and fourth-year students were more adjusted at adjusting to college life than first- and second-year students. Third-year students also scored the highest in academic adjustment, whereas second-year students scored the lowest. In terms of relationships between the students' communication skills and their adjustment to college life, communication skills were positively correlated with the following subdomains: understanding of others, self-expression, and communication. Communication skills also showed a positive correlation with adjustment to the college environment, including personal-emotional adjustment. Conclusions : The present study found that communication skills did not significantly affect health science majors' adjustment to college life. However, given that communication skills are an essential factor for effective work performance and greater job satisfaction, it is recommended that colleges provide students with relevant education and experiences to help them enhance communication skills while in school.

청소년이 지각한 부모애착과 또래애착이 리더십 생활기술에 미치는 영향 (Effects of a adolescent's attachment with parent and peer on their leadership life skills)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of attachment with parent and peer on the adolescent's leadership life skills. The subjects were 281 students from three middle schools in Incheon city. The data were analyzed by multiple and hierarchical regression. Major findings of this study were as follows; First, present study suggested that parental attachment, peer attachment, and adolescent's leadership life skills were a moderate level. And, adolescent's leadership life skills were a significant differences on the parental and peer attachment, respectively. In particular, the more amicable communication with parents and peers, the more developed their overall leadership life skills. Finally, the peer attachment rather than parental attachment was more influenced on their leadership life skills. Focusing on parental and peer attachment relationship, the educational implication for promoting adolescent's leadership life skills were discussed.

과학영재와 일반학생의 리더십 생활기술, 사회적 능력 및 자기조절능력 분석 (The Relationship between Leadership Life Skills, Social Competence, and Self-Regulation Ability of Scientifically Gifted and Regular Middle School Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between leadership life skills, social competence and self-regulation ability of scientifically gifted and regular middle school students. The subjects for this study were 351 middle school students in Busan. The results of this study were as follows: First, scientifically gifted students had higher significant differences in leadership life skills, social competence and self-regulation ability than regular middle school students. Second, there were significant positive correlations between leadership life skills, social competence and self-regulation ability. Third, social competence and self-regulation ability affected leadership life skills. This suggests that social competence and self-regulation ability are important variables to develop and improve leadership life skills of gifted students.

  • 이 연구는 경찰공무원을 대상으로 우리나라에서 최초로 회복탄력성을 측정하고, 조직몰입에 미치는 영향을 검증하여 경찰조직을 대상으로 한 실증적 연구의 방향성을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 회복탄력성에 대한 선행연구의 분석을 통해서 회복탄력성의 발전과정과 하위 개념들을 정리하고, 경찰공무원의 회복탄력성이 조직몰입과 어떤 관계가 있는지를 분석하고자 하였다. 따라서 회복탄력성의 하위 개념을 자기조절능력(감정조절력, 원인분석력, 충동통제력), 대인관계능력(자아확장력, 소통능력, 공감능력), 긍정성(감사하기, 생활만족, 낙관성)으로 나누어 독립변수로, 조직몰입(감정몰입, 지속몰입, 규범몰입)을 종속변수로 사용하여 분석모형을 설정하였다. 분석결과 회복탄력성이 조직몰입에 미치는 영향을 생활만족>원인분석력>소통능력>공감능력>감사하기>충동통제력 순으로 모두 감정몰입에 정(+)적인 영향을 미치고, 생활만족>낙관성>감정조절력>소통능력>원인분석력 순으로 지속몰입에 정(+)적인 영향을 미치며, 자아확장력>공감능력>낙관성>생활만족>충동통제력>원인분석력 순으로 모두 규범몰입에 정(+)적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

농촌지역 장애노인의 일상생활수행능력이 우울 및 자아존중감에 미치는 영향 - 삶의 질에 매개효과를 중심으로 - (Daily Life Performance Influencing Depression and Self-Esteem of the Rural Disabled Elderly - Mediating Effect of Quality of Life -)

  • The study aims to examine how everyday life skills of disabled seniors in rural areas affect their depression and self-esteem through their quality of life and explores how to improve the quality of life of disabled seniors. To achieve this, 238 participants who were registered as disabled and aged 65 or over took part in this research. Results showed that the quality of life among disabled seniors decreased when their everyday life skills were relatively more advanced than those of non-disabled people. It was also found that the high level of everyday life skills possessed by disabled seniors caused more severe depression and lower self-esteem. Their quality of life negatively affected self-esteem and depression and their everyday life skills were a key factor that influenced depression and self-esteem.

The association between the social adaptive skills of school-aged children with congenital heart disease and mothers' decision factors for providing disease explanations in Japan: a cross-sectional study

  • Purpose: This study aimed to clarify the factors related to mothers' decisions to provide disease explanations to their children, investigate the associations between those factors and social adaptive skills, and examine support relative to children's growth and development. Methods: Data were collected from anonymous, self-administered questionnaires answered by 71 mothers of outpatient school-aged children with congenital heart disease. The questionnaire items included characteristics of mothers and children, decision factors for providing disease explanations, and children's social adaptive skills (Asahide-Shiki social adaptive skills test). Factor analysis was performed on the decision factors, and multiple regression analysis was performed to examine the association between the identified factors and each social adaptive skill. Results: The decision factors for providing disease explanations were the mother's explanation ability, the receptive capability of the child, and the child's interest and literacy regarding the explanation. Multiple regression analysis showed that language and social life skills were significantly associated with the child's receptive capability, and language and daily life skills were significantly associated with the child's interest and literacy regarding the explanation. Conclusion: Improving children's language, social life, and daily life skills may enhance their receptive capability and literacy regarding explanations of their disease.

초등학생의 검도수련에 따른 라이프스킬의 특성 (Effects of Life Skill of Elementary Students through the Training of "Kumdo")

  • 본 연구는 초등학생 검도수련생의 라이프스킬의 변화를 규명하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 579명의 초등학생을 대상으로 연구를 진행하였고, 탐색적 요인분석과 신뢰도검증 및 확인적 요인분석 과정을 거쳐 초등학교 검도수련생의 라이프스킬을 개념화 하였다. 이 결과를 바탕으로 초등학생이 인식하는 라이프스킬의 차이를 성별과 경력에 따라 분석하기 위해 One-way MANOVA를 실시한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째. 초등학생이 검도수련을 통해 발달하는 라이프스킬은 성품, 사회기술, 문제해결기술, 건강관리 4요인으로 나타났다. 둘째. 검도수련에 따른 라이프스킬의 성차는 없었으며, 검도수련 경력에 따라서는 사회기술, 건강관리에서 차이를 보였다. 또한, 검도수련 초등학생의 일상생활만족에 영향을 주는 라이프스킬요인은 사회기술, 문제해결기술, 성품 순으로 나타났다.

어머니의 가정관리능력이 자녀의 자기관리에 미치는 영향: 자녀의 자기조절능력을 매개로 (The Effects of Mothers' Home Management Ability on the School-Aged Children's Self Management Skills: via the Mediation of Self-Regulation of Children)

  • The aim of the current study is to examine the effects of mothers' home management ability on school-aged children's time and life management skills through the mediation effect of children's self-regulation. Study subjects were 317 5- and 6-grade children at elementary schools located in Seoul and Gyeonggi area and their 317 mothers. The findings were as follows. First, in the SEM model of predicting children's time management skill, greater mothers' home management ability significantly predicted better time management skills among their children. Second, mothers' home management ability also indirectly affected children's time management skill through its significant effects on children's self-regulation. The test yielded a significantly mediation effect of self-regulation. Children's self-regualtion was strongly related to time management skills. Third, in the SEM model predicting children's life management skills, maternal ability of home management again directly predicted greater life management skills of their children. However, mediation of self-regulation was not statistically significant. The findings suggested the important role of mothers' home management ability in instilling and modeling self-regulation and self-management skills of school-aged children.

Effects of Collective Promotion on the Attainment of Goals of Basic Education in English-Speaking Primary Schools in Cameroon

  • This study aims at investigating the effects of collective promotion on the attainment of literacy, numeracy, and essential life skills by primary school pupils and also to find out if the policy of collective promotion meets its objective of minimization of wastage in basic education. The study used written tests for pupils in the final class (Level II, class 6) to collect data in some selected English-speaking primary schools in Meme Division of Cameroon. Descriptive statistics and a one way ANOVA were used for analyzing data. The results revealed that the policy of collective promotion negatively affects the attainment of literacy, numeracy, and essential life skills of pupils in Kumba, Meme Division. Teachers who assisted in the study through personal communication with the researcher argued that collective promotion in basic education does not achieve its objective of minimizing wastage of educational resources; neither does it positively improve the literacy, numeracy, and essential life skills of pupils. This study recommends that the policy of collective promotion can be revisited and that focus be placed not only on minimizing wastage of resources but also on investing on quality education system so as to equip the would-be leaders of tomorrow with skills, knowledge, and attitudes which will make them functional and responsible citizens in their society.

간호대학생의 리더십생활기술 관련변인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Variables associated with Leadership Life Skills in Nursing Students)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 간호대학생의 리더십생활기술, 자아존중감 및 동아리 활동 정도를 파악하고 이들 간의 상관관계를 분석하며, 간호대학생의 리더십생활기술에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하기 위해 시행되었다. 연구대상자는 두 개의 광역시와 한 개의 시에 소재한 대학교 간호대학생 331명을 대상으로 하였으며 수집된 자료는 SPSS Win 20.0을 이용하여 백분율, 평균과 표준편차, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe' test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, multiple regression으로 분석하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 간호대학생의 리더십생활기술과 자아존중감은 유의한 양의 상관관계를 나타내었다. 둘째, 간호대학생의 리더십생활기술에 대한 위계적 회귀분석 결과, 리더십생활기술에 영향을 주는 예측요인은 자아존중감, 전공만족도였으며, 29.6%의 설명력을 나타냈다. 이러한 결과는 간호대학생의 리더십생활기술을 증진시키는 전략을 개발하는데 유용하게 활용될 것이다.
