This study is intended to check economic value of and factors influencing children's library. To this end, data on a total of 614 questionnaires to which parents among users of 6 children's libraries responded were collected. The results of analysis by contingent valuation method after selecting library fee per person as payment vehicle were as follows. First, willingness to pay was estimated to be a monthly average of KRW 9,243 per person. Second, it was shown that factors influencing willingness to pay included the frequency of utilization, satisfaction, the number of children per family, gender, age, and income and so on. Third, with regard to influence according to each factor, an additional unit in all the rest of factors except gender increased probability of willingness to pay such as the frequency of utilization(1.140), satisfaction(1.335), the number of children per family(1.417), age(1.124), income(2.426). On the other hand, in terms of gender, probability of willingness to pay was lower in female by 0.364 than in male. The implication of this study is that an interview is held with actual user and specific amount of money is presented regarding the economic value of children's library, which has been little known until now.

In contemporary education, a school library is considered and valued as a vital and integral component of a school's instructional program. Especially, school library materials should contribute to execution of school curriculums through wide provision of resources. The results of the study are as follows. 1. The term 'library materials' should be changed into 'library resources' with a broad meaning. And, the scope of school library materials should include printed materials, audio-visual materials, electronic materials, associated equipment and other library resources. 2. It is desirable that the minimal standards of total collection is 5 books and 3 AV for a student in elementary schools, 7 books and 5 AV for a student in middle schools, 10 books and 7 AV for a student in high schools. 3. Annual growth is 0.5 for a student in elementary schools, 1 for a student in middle schools and 1.5 copy for a student in high schools. And, the number of minimal serials is 20 titles in elementary schools, 30 titles in middle schools and 50 tides in high schools. 4. Besides, basic collection, with the advances of technology, the school library collection should include new formats and delivery systems such as CD, video discs, videotex, computer software, satellite transmission etc. 5. The recommendable annual ratio of withdrawl is 3 to 5% for update and functional materials.

The school library in Korea, with its short history, has not been fully awared of its importance yet. As a result, most of school libraries in Korea have not been fundtioning as the center of educational activity which is closely connected with learning process and as the place of the extension of classroom, but as the place of storing books. Besides the importance of materials and facilities, the educational function of school libraries can be fully achieved only when each school librarian clearly understands his work and duties, and accomplishes them successfully. This study, which are based on analysis of literature investigations and precedent studies, are summarized as follow: 1. There is an absolute lack of the number of school librarians (or alternative teachers) in comparison to the number which is specified in the regulations of Library Law. 2. There is no a n.0, ppropriate legal foundation for employment of school librarians and library assistants, and of their o n.0, pportunities for promotion. 3. The school library in korea has been stayed so far on its infantile, namely 'the period of material arrangement', in the aspect of the function. 4. The administrative organization of the school library has not gained much recognition of its professional character. And even more the position of the school library today is not enough clear to be stable in the total school system. By solving these factors step, the newly reformed school library in Korea will play a great role in improving her education by the hand of school librarians whose spirits are re-filled with willingness and creativity.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors influencing on the organizational changes of the university libraries. The study analyzed the relationship between self-cognition level of information literacy(SCLIL) and library anxiety(LA). SCLIL was 3.72 point, LA was 2.47 point, and these results are similar to previous studies. SCLIL and LA are correlated each other significantly(r=r=-0.493, p<0.05). Higher SCLIL leads to lower LA. Also, the study found the main factors of LA was lack of methods to access information', 'lack of confidence in evaluating the information's relevance.' For those who are going to major in Library and Information Science, it is found that they have less LA and lower SCLIL compared to those who are not willing to major in Library and Information Science, and this shows a tendency to downplay their own abilities, while tending a more positive image of libraries. Based on the results, recommendations were made to use social and psychological standard tests in order to elaborately and diversely reflect individual information user's psychological aspect.

This study is to seek a development plan in the borrowed book and current condition of operation of J-do provincial library. Based on library use card issuer 30,072 people and the number of lending books 705,447(2012 to 2013) of J-do provincial library, it was to analyzed elemental and comparative research for library development plan and user satisfaction. Method of analysis used SPSS statistics 21. This confirmed provincial library user's library user behavior and usage pattern of data. Based on the results of analytics, it indicated a development plan of J-do provincial library.

It has been observed that the purpose of education is poorly coordinated with the school library. Consequently a healthy growth of the library has been very rare, and educational process has been rather inefficient. Therefore this study attempts to define the role of a school library and the necessasity of its growth, examine principals' concepts of the library, find out the adverse causes for its growth, and make some suggestions to rectify them. A questionnaire was designed to get information on the principals' conceptions about the nature and the role of a school library, a librarian, and adverse causes for the growth of the library. This study is largely based on the analysis of this questionnaire. The results of this study may be summarized as. follows: 1) The school library is not generally considered as the center of educational activities. It is rather variously regarded as a subsidiary organization for education, a place where reading materials are offered, a place where books are kept, or a reading room. 2) This was largely due to the misconceptions of the principals as to the true nature and the role of the school library. 3) The degrees of their misconceptions varied depending on the amount of their exposure to the library science. Those principals who studied library science more hours had better understanding of the library. 4) Although the principals showed rather much concern for the library, the school library was not up to the expectation largely due to their misconception of it. 5) Most of the principals felt that they needed more knowledge on library science to carry out their job. This feeling was stronger for those who spent more hours in a library science course. 6) Most of the principals wanted to offer a position for a dual function: a librarian and a teacher. This was largely due to their lack of knowledge as to the duties of a librarian-which were considered as secondary to the duties of a teacher. 7) The majority of the principals thought the librarians were not paid well enough, but some of the principals o n.0, pposed their pay raise. The former generally took more courses in library science than the latter. 8) Many principals agreed that the adverse causes for the growth of the school library originated from the regional or governmental school authorities. This seemed to indicate that the legal requirements for the library were inadequate and that there was no administrative organization to take care of the library. 9) Most of the principals considered the insufficient funds as the major reason for the present poor condition of the library. But considering the fact that some libraries are better equi n.0, pped that others, financial matter cannot be the deciding factor. It rather seemed that there is some serious problems in the current educational system. For further studies in this field and for the libraries to function properly, the following suggestions are made here: 1) The major adverse cause for the healthy growth of the school library was found in the misconceptions on the school library by the principals, and these misconceptions were largely due to their lack of knowledge. Therefore they should be given more o n.0, pportunities to take courses in library science. 2) The librarian should not be overburdened with other duties than what his job duly calls for, and they should be properly compensated for their own job. They should also be encouraged to grow as librarians. 3) Education itself should be improved so that the library becomes the center of learning. 4) An administrative department should be created to oversee the school libraries, and legal measures should be enacted for better school libraries. 5) Financial su n.0, pport should be provided for a period of time in order to upgrade the school library to a certain level. Finally it is strongly felt that more detailed and inclusive studies in this field should be carried on and further experimental studies should be done.

The purpose of this study is to identify an acquisition material duplication rate among three academic libraries for developing an academic library network. Three academic libraries located in Gyonggi-do, Korea were selected for data collection. The acquisition lists in both 2000 and 2001 were compared and analyzed between two libraries respectively. The results show that the duplication rate is 0.4% in 2000 and 2.8% in 2001 between medium in libraries, and 1.33%, 1.11% in 2000 and 3.63%, 3.88% in 2001 between a big size library and medium size libraries. These tell us that a big library can get benefit from a library network with medium size libraries.

The purpose of this study is to build a general principle for the automatic book-classification which can be put to use in library operation, and to present a methodology of the automatic classification for the library. Since the enumerative classification scheme which exist as manual systems cannot be a n.0, pplied to the automation of classification, the principles of Colon Classification by S.R. Ranganathan is brought in and studied. The result of the study can be summarized as follows: (1) Automatic book-classification can be performed by the principles of faceted classification. (2) This study presents a general and an a n.0, pplication principles for the automatic book-classification. (3) File design for the automatic book-classification of a general classification is different from that of special classification, (4) The methodology is to classify the literature by inputting the title into a terminal. In addition, the expected Value from the Automatic Book-classification is as follows: (1) The prompt and accurate process of classification is possible. (2) Though a book is classified in any library it can have the same classification number. (3) The user can retrieve the classification code of a book for which he or she wants to search through the dialogue with the computer. (4) Since the concept coordination method is employed, even the representing of a multi-subject concept is made simple. (5) By performing automatic book-classification, the automation of library operation can be completed.
