Export system using artificial intelligence give the technology for the varied library user instruction. Expert system showing problem solving process give educational effectives. In this paper, expert system are reviewed to discuss the application possibility in education and the model of intelligent tutoring system(ITS) applying artificial intelligence is presented.

DLS(Digital Library System) have been established by Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development for providing the application services to each school library managers(teacher librarian) and front end users such as students and teachers. DLS's are separately operated by 15 major metropolitan or provincial office of education to cover all elementary, middle and high schools in Korea. There is a necessity which it will analyze the current status of DLS because it's system after starting a service 2 years passed. This study suggested to improvements strategies of DLS by survey from teacher librarian, subject teacher, students of 308 schools.

Recent developments and integration of IT are expanding the possibility of various instructional learning methods in education environments. Contemporary learning theory such as open education, self-directed learning, student's centered learning describes the students as an active and engaged information user and underscores the importance of information literacy. Therefore, school library today focus on the process of learning-teaching process rather than dissemination information, and emphasized the focus of the school electronic library as information center. The purpose of this study is examined physical components of School Electronic Library, design a model of information system and suggests a strategy for implementing teaching-learning process support services based on school electronic library and information system.

The purpose of this study is to identify the teaching anxiety experienced by instruction librarians of university libraries and to propose support measures to alleviate it. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, a survey was conducted targeting instruction librarians among librarians of group 'A' university across the country. As a result of analyzing a total of 138 valid responses, 84.8% of the librarians responded that they had experienced teaching anxiety. There was no difference in teaching anxiety in terms of library work experience, instruction work experience, instruction frequency, instruction work weight, and librarian role recognition, but there was a significant difference in emotions and readiness before entering the teaching role. As a way to alleviate the teaching anxiety of instruction librarians, it was suggested that the curriculum for user education should be established from the undergraduate course in library and information science, guidelines should be prepared at the level of higher institutions or councils, and to diversify the curriculum of specialized librarian education and training institutions.

This study is the result of the analysis on the user interface of the Korean internet newspapers. To investigate the user interfaces, the home pages of the 6 internet newspaper were selected as the samples. Then, the information procedures, designs. information presentations, and searching routines of that samples were analyzed. For the home-page design of the internet newspaper and the education of the article search by the journalist-librarian with the press or the librarian in common. the results of the paper will be helpful.

There has been significant movements in the provision of equal access to library and information services for persons with disability. This study aimed to analyze the use and needs of library services of disabled people with a survey. The survey data revealed that the majority of disabled persons did not visit library and not experience library sol-vices. The main reason was reported that they had poor information about the library services. Also, they did not satisfy the variety, sufficiency, accessibility, up-to-dateness of the materials in general. And there were difference of favorite programs and needs among different kinds of the disabled. Therefore, active guidance and public relations about library services. improvement of accessibility for the disabled by building digital collection, resource sharing and extension of services by building library cooperation network, and the arrangement of librarians for the disabled and education for them should be back up for improving library services for the disabled.

With the development of industrial technology an amount of information has sharply increased and an information-oriented society had come. This information environment changed the function of library. Today's public library not only save and record the information but also encourages residents to use information and culture activities such as lifelong education. As the library plays a variety role, it has become an multiplex space. Added new function, various space has formed and each space requires their own interior images that fits it's character. Here this study is to research new changed library's characteristic in interior image through five library's on-the-spot survey.

This study used content analysis to examine research methods and trends of the user study articles from 1991 to 2003. Analysis measured research subjects, research method, data collection methods, data analysis methods, hypotheses. The average yearly papers in the case of scholarly journal - 2.8 pieces. The year published the largest number of papers is 2001. The order of the number of papers information behavior, user study, user interface, user education, OPAC use. Used research methods are literature search and survey research, data analysis methods are $X^2$, correlation and T-test.

The purpose of the study is to design and implement a prototype expert system for library classification in the literature field of the DDC 20. The system was largely consisted of a knowledge base, an inference engine, a knowledge acquisition facility, an explanation facility and an user interface facility. The knowledge base was represented by inference rules and frames. The name file for authors and titles was designed separately. The forward chaining technique was chosen for the inference engine and the menu-driven dialog technique was also taken for the user interface. The conclusions of the study can be summarized as follows: 1) The difficulty of document classification work is due to the complex and stringent classification rules. Such problems can be considerably alleviated by using the present system. 2) Even the novice with a knowledge about the DDC 20 can easily access the system. And also librarian other than the professional classifier can easily be accustomed to the classification work. 3) The system can be used as an online classification scheme. 4) By adding any local language other than English or Hangeul on the menu screen, the language problem relating classification can be overcome. 5) The system can be employed as the intensification tool for the education of classification as well as library automation.

The purpose of this study was to provide suggestions for the effective management of e-journals in academic libraries. Existing literatures were reviewed, web sites were examined, and informal interviews with librarians were conducted. This study comprehensively discussed various aspects of e-journal management, including 1) user behavior, 2) selection, acquisition, and evaluation, 3) access and search, 4) user education and its promotion, 5) archiving, 6) open access, 7) collection development policy.
