본고는 미국의 도서관전산화, 도서관간의 협력, 인터넷과 정보서비스, 도서관정보서비스기관의 현황과 동향에 관하여 기술한 것이다. 도서관전산화시스템은 클라언트/서버 환경하에서 웹기반 기술을 적용하여 통합된 시스템을 구축하고 있으며, 디지털도서관 구축사업이 활발하게 진행중이다. 도서관간의 협력은 콘소시아를 형성하고 있는데 국가수준에는 ARL/AAU와 지역단위에는 CIC가 있고 주단위의 정보네트워크는 GALILEO, LLN, OhioLink, TexShare, VIVA, ILLINET 등이 있다. 인터넷과 월드와이드웹이 도서관에 미치는 영향이 지대하여 각 도서관들은 인터넷정보자원을 활용한 부가가치정보서비스를 개발하고 있다. 마지막으로 의회도서관, 국립농업도서관, 국립의학도서관 교육정보센터, 국립기술정보서비스의 최근 정보활동을 소개한다.

급변하는 정보환경 속에서 이용자의 정보 요구는 다양해지고 있으며, 도서관이 전통적인 서비스에서 벗어나 이용자 맞춤의 큐레이션 서비스를 제공할 필요성이 높아지고 있다. "제2차 대학도서관 진흥종합계획(2019~2023)"에서도 이용자 중심의 맞춤서비스를 언급하지만 현 대학도서관 상황에서 이용자 맞춤의 큐레이션 서비스를 시행하기는 어려운 점이 존재한다. 이에 본 연구는 게이미피케이션을 도서관에 적용하기 위해 도서관 내외의 다양한 분야에 적용되고 있는 게이미피케이션의 이론과 사례를 살펴보고 MDA+를 제안하였으며, 도서관 큐레이션 서비스와의 접합점을 찾아 게이미피케이션을 적용한 대학도서관 취업/구직 로드맵 큐레이션 서비스 프로토타입을 구축하였다. 그리고 현장전문가의 검증을 통해 시사점을 도출하였다.

본 연구의 목적은 2015년 '모든 학생 성공법'에 의해 재인증된 미국의 초중등교육법을 문헌정보 서비스의 관점에서 법률의 내용을 분석하고 이를 통해 문헌정보 서비스 개선 등에 관한 시사점을 도출하는 데 있다. 분석결과, 이 법에는 최초로 '효과적인 학교도서관 프로그램'과 '학교 사서'가 명시되어 있으며 '학교도서관 프로그램'과 '학교 사서'를 리터러시와 디지털 리터러시, 도서, 자원, 최신 자료, 기술, 도서관 서비스 및 교육 서비스와 연계시키고 있어 미국의 초중등학교에서 문헌정보 서비스가 보다 적극적으로 수행될 수 있는 재정적 제도적 기반을 제공하고 있다. 또한, 이 법에는 학교 사서가 개인화된 학습 경험, 증거 기반 평가, 전문성 개발에 참여해야 한다고 명시하고 있으며 학생들의 학업성취도와 리터러시 및 디지털 리터러시 향상을 위하여 학생, 교직원, 학부모에게 문헌정보 서비스를 제공해야 함을 규정하고 있다. 이러한 분석 내용을 바탕으로 본 연구는 학교도서관 접근성 강화, 사서교사 등의 문헌정보 서비스 업무 구체화, 학교 구성원과의 협력 강화, 증거 기반에 따른 교육 활동, 교육적 효과의 공유, 문헌정보 교육과정 개발을 논의하였다.

정보격차 해소를 위한 정보접근의 평등권이 사회적으로 중요한 이슈가 되고 있으며, 특히 정보소외계층인 장애인의 삶의 질과 문화적 향수권에 대한 사회적 관심이 점차적으로 높아지고 있다. 도서관도 이러한 사회적 추세에서 예외일 수는 없으며, 장애인에 대한 도서관의 서비스는 그 지역사회의 공공 서비스에서 핵심이 되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 국가적 차원에서 장애인을 위한 도서관 서비스의 표준화 정책을 개발하는데 있어서 참고하여야할 정책방향을 제시한다.

세계는 점점 다양화되어 가고 있으며, 우리나라도 결혼 이민자와 외국인 노동력의 증가로 외국인 100만 시대의 다문화사회로 진입하였다. 그러나 이들의 한국생활 적응은 매우 어려워 보이며, 공공도서관에서는 이들에게 다문화서비스를 제공하여 한국생활 적응에 도움을 줄 필요가 있다. 홈페이지를 이용한 서비스 제공은 도서관을 방문하지 않고도 시공을 초월하여 이용자가 필요한 자료를 이용할 수 있는 장점을 활용하여 세계적인 다문화 국가인 호주, 캐나다, 미국과 일본의 공공도서관 홈페이지에서는 어떠한 다문화 서비스를 하고 있는지 살펴보고 이를 공공도서관선언에서 제언하는 도서관의 네 가지 핵심 서비스인 정보, 문해, 교육, 문화의 영역으로 유형을 분류하였다. 국내 공공도서관 홈페이지에서는 아직 제공하지 못하고 있는 통번역 서비스나 숙제도우미, 어린이문해 프로그램은 앞으로 시도해야 할 과제로 보이며 독립된 다문화사이트 운영, 지역대표도서관과 지방공공도서관의 업무 분담, 정부나 기관, 사회단체와의 긴밀한 협조는 다문화도서관서비스를 더욱 풍부하게 할 것이다.

본 연구에서는 SOA와 웹서비스의 개념을 살펴보았고, SOA를 구현하는 웹서비스의 주요 프로토콜인 SOAP, REST, SRW/U, OAI-PMH에 대한 기술을 분석하였으며, 국내외 도서관에서 SOAP과 REST 기반 웹서비스 구축사례를 각각 제시하였다. 또한 국내외 도서관에서 Web 2.0 기술을 활용한 Library 2.0 적용사례와 SOA 기반 웹서비스 프로토콜의 Library 2.0 적용방법을 제시하였다. 마지막으로 REST 기반 Open API를 이용하여 도서관 OPAC, 온라인서점, 웹 포털, 종합목록 등을 결합한 메타검색 시스템의 구축과 활용을 통한 Library 2.0 적용방안을 제안하였다.

본 연구는 경영학분야 연구자들의 정보이용행태를 파악하여 이용자 요구에 기반 한 정보서비스를 제공하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위하여 경영학 관련 K학회 회원을 대상으로 202건의 데이터를 수집하였다. 개인적인 배경, 일반적인 정보이용, 전자자원 이용, 소셜네트워크서비스(SNS) 및 모바일 서비스 정보이용, 도서관 및 정보센터 이용, 경영학 전문도서관 및 정보센터 이용 등을 조사 분석하였다. 연구결과에서는 효과적인 전자자원관리시스템(ERMS)을 구축하는 방안, 학술Web-DB 및 전자저널의 검색 활용 방법에 관한 이용교육 활성화, 소셜네트워크서비스(SNS)와 모바일 서비스, 주제전문서비스 및 맞춤형 정보서비스 등의 활용 등을 제안하였다.

As many Korean libraries has begun to be automated and become a part of the worldwide, open library system, they need a new management. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to explore the library management in automated libraries and to establish a theory of the library management in information society, The automated libraries could be well explained by the systems theory and the environment of the libraries could be well explained by the contingency theory, The following hypothesis were set to direct this research. 1. As the libraries are automated and become a part of one big, worldwide library system, the libraries interact closely with the environment so that the library and the environment become one. 2. As the libraries are automated and become a part of one big, worldwide library system, the librarians need to work in the environment for the library networks, standardization of cataloging, or government information policy making. 3. As the libraries are automated and become a part of one big, worldwide library system, the librarians only manage the library, The various other library staffs take over the traditional library services directly related to books. The data were gathered from the research done previously, Also the date were collected from the American and Japanese libraries. The findings were as follows: The environment of the library integrated all types of the library services such as school library, university library, etc. And it also integrated all the services of the media centers and the press centers, etc. to library services. And the new library services began in the environment. Librarians worked for these new services. In the library, the librarians distingushed the library system from the environment by planning : mission, goal, objectives, policy, procedures and rules. Library organization became temporary such as forming task forces or matrix or free form. The environment controlled the library. Staffs were controlled by plans or computers. And the professional librarians were controlled by their ability to solve problems raised outside the libraries. Library leaders brought in the technology to the library from its environment. The librarians led the formal and informal organizations so that the staffs cooperated well in their work. And librarians tought the library procedures to the partime workers or the temporary staffs. Participative management and management by objectives were the means of motivating staffs. Budget was based on the ever changing environment. The zero based budget method was applied. Therfore, in the information society, the professional librarians become the able managers in the library and global librarians in the environment.

이 이론적 논문의 목적은 도서관서비스 시장을 확인하고 일반 상품시장과 대비되는 도서관서비스 시장의 특성을 파악하여 연구 및 실천 부분에서 도서관 마케팅 및 경영의 논의를 더욱 풍성하게 하는 데에 있다. 도서관서비스 시장은 일반 시장의 모형을 기반으로 확인하였으며, 일반 상품시장과 비교하여 도서관서비스 시장은 간접 교환, 제한 경쟁, 그리고 시차적 교환이라는 특성이 있음을 밝혔다. 이러한 특성에 기반하여 도서관 경영의 목표 및 목적의 개발과 도서관 마케팅에의 적용이라는 두 가지 연구방향을 제안하였다.

Librarians, who work for University libraries in Korea experience a lot of confusion and difficulties because of rapidly-changing technological conditions and under-developed understanding of the University Libraries' full potential on the part of the users. I present the concept of 'Subject Services' as an approach which librarians could use to overcome these difficulties in their own way. The 'Subject Services' refers to the 'subjectized' collection development and reference services, which can more specifically address the users' needs. To make this idea more concrete, I selected Pusan National University Library as the case of my qualitative research. And I made use of various research techniques such as 'participant observation' and 'ethnographic interview'. After looking into the case library in depth, I found that the concept of 'Subject Specialist'. a person who has double master's degrees including that of library and information science, is more suitable to the University Libraries in Korea at the present developmental stage. At the end of this article, propose that the development of Core Collections, the improvement of subject-oriented reference services and the continuing education of librarians should be emphasized.
