  • In risk assessment, there are several methods such as Safety Review, Checklist, FMEA(Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), FTA(Fault Tree Analysis), ETA (Event Tree Analysis) etc, however, the level of accident is indentified by the probability of accident and severity resulting from accident which used widely in assessing accidents and disasters. In this paper, the risk assessment method to decide the level of risk will be introduced by using severity, frequency and detection according to accident theory.

  • Formative assessment is considered one of the effective strategies for teaching and learning mathematics. But it seems that there are few systematic researches which cover the process of practicing formative assessment in a class and providing feedback to the students. This study adopts CRESST Formative Assessment Program as a prototype. After some modifications of it to suit our educational system, this study analyzes the effectiveness of applying that program to the 7th grade level-differentiated math classes. Afterwards, this study tries to draw some significant educational discussions and implications for improving teaching and learning mathematics.

  • In this study, a risk assessment model based on the ETA (Event Tree Analysis) and FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) is developed according to the procedure of hazard analysis and risk assessment in order to estimate the risk quantitatively. The FTA technique is applied to estimate the branch probability (frequency) and the ETA technique is applied to estimate the consequence for each branch path on the ET (Event Tree). A risk assessment model is developed by the combination of those ETA and FTA. In addition, the reliability and the validity of the risk assessment model are verified by comparing the risk estimated through the developed model with the actual equivalent fatality.

  • This study deals with the assessment indices about greening performance of datacenter. To do this, we survey existing standards and guidelines about datacenter. Those are used constructing new model of datacenter regarding greening performance. In this model, the relationship between major components will be represented by job-energy-thermal notation. Items, criteria and methods are created in order to complete the assessment indices. The existing assessment indices of the datacenter level and equipment level are investigated. Parameters, the degree of virtualization and energy efficiency also affects the performance of the green performance. Finally, to determine the improvements, the proposed indices is compared with the existing assessment tools.

  • Evaluation of nutritional status is an essential element in providing appropriate intervention strategies to achieve the highest level of health, Nutritional assessment of the older population is complicated by many factors which do not significantly affect the nutritional status in young adults, therefore, it should be considered in two ways; community-dwelling elders group and hospitalized or institutionalized elderly group. To sort out the individuals with nutritional problems in a community efficiently, nutrition screening tools must be simple, relatively inexpensive, and applicable to a large number of subjects. Combination of tools and indicators such as 24-hour food recall, body weight and height, and questionnaires on eating practices, and the presence of chronic diseases is practically applicable as basic tools of nutritional screening of older age group. However, the lack of validated screening techniques remains a barrier in improving nutrition. Validation is only limited to energy, BMI, protein intake of the older populations living in western countries. Further refinement of nutritional assessment tools is demanded to figure out whether those are practically applicable to community-living older adults in Asian Society. A careful and systematic evaluation of nutritional assessment tools should be carried out prior to implementation of stepwise nutrition service to the heterogeneous older population. For an in-depth nutritional assessment at the individual level, we need to extend research efforts to clarify the requirements of nutrients due to aging and diseases. More cost-effective method that will allow rapid analysis of survey results are needed so that information can be readily available to policymakers.

  • This Paper presents a clearly explained and richly illustrated case study of assessment and evaluation for program outcomes in accreditation for engineering education, which describe what Program students are expected to be able to do by the time of graduation. In particular, the performance criteria based on performance level, assessment tools, and level-of-achievement rubrics for assessment of program outcomes in electrical engineering program of Kwangwoon university will be briefly addressed. Obviously, the assessment, evaluation, and improvement processes for the specified program outcomes should be continuously carried out to demonstrate that the program objectives and outcomes are being met.

  • The scope of this study is the construction conformity assessment system according to the new paradigm of construction management To minimize the differences between domestic and international state, construction Conformity Assessment is subdivided into system certification and product certification. For the former, WASCON(Worldwide Assessment System of Construction Quality Maturity Stage) is applied. For the latter, AQUA(Advanced Quality Assessment System) was developed and adopted to model project for demonstration. Both systems are designed to enable quantified rating, integrated into PQCS(Project Quality Certification), which is an advanced project quality certification system. The construction work observing PQCS will gain quality score on its own quality certificate(Quality mark on construction itself or facilities is also available, if needed or preferred by customers). This Quality Rating System will inspire and encourage any related parties. PQCS score would let supplier/constructor recognize how much themselves are operating effectively and efficiently, offering them the opportunity of redeeming their weaknesses.

  • This paper presents a method for developing the performance assessment of energy conservation and efficiency based on baseline and target adjustment approach. Energy consumption is related with output level and production structure. This paper suggests improvement for target establishment and performance assessment with regard to real output level in target year. Numerical illustrations of baseline and target adjustment method are shown different compared with the general assessment results. This study will contribute to applying the conformity assessment and Greenhouse Gas Emissions verification system.

  • As an alternative to solving safety, environments, and aging problems, ADS (Automated driving system) in the global automotive market is actively being developed as a new growth industry. In time for the appearance of ADS, relevant regulations and assessment programs must also be developed. For example, safety standards for the Level 3 automated driving system were promulgated in December 2019 by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korean government. However, assessment programs such as KNCAP for autonomous functions of ADS have not yet been introduced in Korea as well as globally. The autonomous driving functions of ADS at Level 3 or higher must be capable to recognize, judge and respond to objects and events in a wide variety of complex situations. In this paper, we examined and studied the complex situations, considerations and assessment items that ADS must respond to in the interest of safety for passengers, pedestrians and other road users. We hope this paper will be helpful to develop an execution program in the future.

  • PURPOSE: A gait assessment is an important component of the rehabilitation process, and observational gait assessment (OGA) is used routinely in clinical settings. This study examined the association of OGA tools with the independent walking ability in stroke patients to determine a cutoff value of the OGA tool according to independence levels of stroke patient gait. METHODS: Two hundred ten hemiparetic stroke patients participated in the study. The independence of gait was identified using the Functional Ambulation Category (FAC) classifications. The walking ability was assessed using OGA tools (Rivermead Visual Gait Assessment [RVGA], Wisconsin Gait Scale [WGS], Tinetti Gait Scale [TGS], and Functional Gait Analysis [FGA]). RESULTS: Stepwise multiple regression analysis showed that among the OGA tools, the FGA correlated with the FAC. The FGA explained approximately 77% of the variance in FAC. In distinguishing the independence levels, the cutoff values were as follows: between FAC 1 and FAC 0 was .5 points; between FAC 2 and lower levels, 5.5; between FAC 3 and lower levels, 11.5; between FAC 4 and lower levels, 14.5; and between FAC 5 and lower levels, 18.5. Items 1, 2, 3, and 10 were identified as explaining most of the variance in the FGA in the stepwise multiple regression. CONCLUSION: The present study found that the FGA is an assessment tool related to the level of gait independence after stroke. Furthermore, the FGA total score can serve as an index of the increase in independence level after stroke.
