안경원 브랜드의 디자인아이덴티티에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design Identity of Optical Shop Brands)

  • 목적: 안경원 브랜드의 디자인아이덴티티 시각 요소들의 분석을 통해 안경원의 브랜드 디자인 개발에 필요한 객관적인 자료로 활용하고자 하였다. 방법: 안경원의 브랜드 디자인아이덴티티 개념을 살펴보고 국내 프랜차이즈 안경원의 상징물, 심벌마크의 형태와 로고타입의 표현 스타일, 색상 활용도, 캐릭터 사용 여부 등을 중심으로 브랜드 디자인아이덴티티의 시각 요소들을 분석하였다. 결과: 안경과 눈, 얼굴과 홍채 같은 안경과 관련된 직접적인 상징물이 많았고 글자와 도형도 나타났다. 심벌 유형으로는 대부분이 구상형과 워드마크 형태의 디자인이 많았고 워드마크형에는 국문보다 영문이 많이 사용되었다. 로고타입 형식은 고딕체 형식이 주류를 이루었고 획의 굵기는 보통과 두꺼운 볼드체가 고루 사용되는 것으로 나타났다. 안경원 브랜드 디자인에서 가장 많이 사용되고 있는 색상 도수는 2도 조합 사용이 대부분이었고 색상 사용 빈도로는 검정과 빨강이 많았는데 심벌이나 로고타입의 전용 색상에는 검정과 함께 주황도 많이 나타났다. 캐릭터는 일부 안경원에서만 사용하고 있고 대부분 동물 소재로 표현은 만화와 그래픽 형식이었다. 결론: 상징물, 심벌마크와 로고타입, 색상, 캐릭터는 브랜드 디자인아이덴티티 기본 개발 시스템이다. 안경원 브랜드의 중요한 시각적 구성요소로 상호간 일관성이 있으면서 기능과 역할을 분명히 할 수 있는 체계적인 디자인이 되어야 한다.

한글 타이포그라피의 정체성에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Identity of Hangul Typography)

  • 한글은 동아시아 한자문화권 속에서 태어났다. 우리의 글자문화는 서양 글자 문화는 엄연히 다른 전통이 있었다. 동양에서 글자란 영물이자 주술이었으며, 존엄과 신비 그리고 제의가 함유된 경외의 대상이었다. 동양에서는 글씨 그 자체의 엄연한 가치를 인정하는 문화적 전통이 있었던 것이다. 이러한 글자관 세계속에서 완벽한 소리글자로서 한글은 태어났다. 그러나 한글의 특성은 뜻글자로서의 한자적 배경과 사뭇 다르며 독특하다. 한글은 소리글자임에도 불구하고 한자적 이미지의 고향을 강하게 지니고 있다. 이것은 라틴 알파벳이 그 진화의 오랜 여정 속에서 이미지의 고향을 잃어버린 것과 대조되는 부분이며, 소리글자로서의 한글이 이미지의 속성을 함께 가지고 있는 것은 한글의 특성이라 할 수 있다. 다시 말해 한글 형태는 조합 방식에서 한자와 같은 속성을 가지고 있으면서, 소리글자로서의 특성은 라틴 알파벳에 가깝다. 한글은 곧 시간적으로 한자 문화에 바탕을 둔 시각 이미지 글자의 배경으로서의 기억을 생생히 가지고 있고, 또 기능적으로는 매우 발달된 형태의 소리글자로서의 글자의 두 가지 속성을 모두 한몸에 지니고 있는 것이 특징이다. 이러한 한글의 특징은 이미지 시대에 살고 있는 우리에게 바로 우리 시각문화의 존재 의미를 일깨워주는 부분이라 하겠다. 곧 세계 글자문화 속에서 돋보이는 이러한 한글 타이포그라피의 정체성이야 말로 바로 우리 시각문화의 본질이 될 것이다.

초등학교 저학년 아동의 글씨쓰기와 실행능력과의 상관관계 (The Correlation between Handwriting Skills and Praxis in the Low Grades Students at an Elementary School)

  • Objective : The purpose of this study was to examine the correlation between handwriting skills and praxis. Method : Participants consisted of 50 normal children who were the second-grade students at an A elementary school in Kim-hae. They didn't have a visual dysfunction, an auditory dysfunction, and a disease or an injury in arms and hands. They could follow examiners' directions properly. They were administered the Postural Praxis and the Praxis on Verbal Command of the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests(SIPT)(Ayres, 2000) and the handwriting skill test which was made with reference to foreign literatures. It was conducted from October 19, 2004 to December 17, 2004. The data were analyzed with non-paired t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficient. Results : 1. Total handwriting score and praxis according to gender of children showed the statistically significant differences(p<0.05). 2. Total handwriting score correlated with praxis(p<0.05) and handwriting speed did not correlate with praxis. 3. Postural Praxis and Praxis on Verbal Command according to handwriting groups showed the statistically significant differences(p<0.05). 4. Among the standards of the handwriting skill test, accuracy of letter form, identity of letter size, spacing between letters and words, placing text on lines, error existence, and letter out of regular square correlated with the Postural Praxis(p<0.05), and accuracy of letter form, identity of letter size, and placing text on lines correlated with the Praxis on Verbal Command(p<0.05). Conclusions : The correlation between handwriting skills and praxis will help occupational therapists to provide fundamental and various treatment programs for children who are referred for the poor handwriting. But more studies in handwriting skills and praxis are necessary to decide which component of handwriting skills is related to praxis.

스크립토그래퍼를 활용한 표현적 실험 타이포그래피 및 활자체의 창작: <질주하는 활자>와 <천상의 활자>를 중심으로 (Creating Expressive and Experimental Typography and Typeface by Utilizing Scriptographer: Focused on Rush Type and Celestial Type)

  • 디지털 시대 이전, 글자를 표현하기 위해 주로 사용했던 도구는 붓과 펜이었다. 따라서 그 시대를 투영하는 조형언어 역시 붓과 펜이 그려내는 형식과 양식을 중심으로 이루어져 왔다. 그러나 디지털 시대에 등장한 새로운 도구와 기술은 타이포그래피의 표현에 있어 그 한계를 무색하게 했다. 즉, 사용자가 새로운 도구를 습득하여 효과적으로 활용하기만 하면 표현적이고 실험적인 타이포그래피와 활자체를 쉽고 빠르게 만들 수 있게 된 것이다. 본 연구는 그 사례에 대한 탐구로써, 표현적 실험 타이포그래피의 특징과 의의를 역사적 맥락에서 파악하고, 어도비 일러스트레이터용 오픈 소스 스크립팅 플러그인으로 개발된 '스크립토그래퍼(Scriptographer)'라는 새로운 도구를 소개, 그 장단점과 활용 가능성을 조사한다. 더 나아가, 성공적인 선행 연구의 사례 분석을 통해 실천적 토대를 마련하고, 스크립토그래퍼를 이용하여 창작한 실험 타이포그래피 연작-<질주하는 활자>와 <천상의 활자>-으로 본 연구의 실효성을 가늠하고자 한다.

무어, 로월과의 관계 속에서 엘리자베스 비숍 읽기 -비숍 시의 "내적 특성" 들여다보기 (Reading Elizabeth Bishop in Her Relationship with Moore and Lowell: Looking into the "Intrinsic Qualities" of Bishop's Poetry)

  • This study explores the characteristics of Elizabeth Bishop's poetry in comparison with the two of her closest friends and poets, Marianne Moore and Robert Lowell. Bishop's reputation has dramatically changed since her death. In the 1970s she was "a writer's writer's writer," and admired by a small group of poets or critics. Since 1990s, however, there has been a great shift in the evaluation of her poetry, which is so called "The Elizabeth Bishop Phenomenon." It does not seem to be an easy task to examine what has driven the phenomenon, and why she used to be a minor poet or "the most honored yet most elusive of poets" but now she has a widespread recognition by the academy and beyond it. The "intrinsic qualities" of Bishop's poetry, however, can be one of the main reasons why it took several decades for Bishop to become a central figure in the literary canon. Looking into her "intrinsic qualities," this paper discusses Bishop's "The Fish," "Roosters" through the Moore-Bishop relationship, and reads Bishop's "Armadillo" and "The Monument" through the Lowell-Bishop relationship. It also deals with letters, interviews, Moore's "The Fish," and Lowell's "Skunk Hour" and "For the Union Dead" to show the Bishop's deep and complex relationships with the two poets, and more importantly their differences. Bishop's poetry is difficult, "elusive," and sometimes "enigmatic," not because her texts are full of difficult words to understand but because there are the subtle interchange between perception and meaning, "the dynamics of keen feeling," the unresolved patterns, and the transient vision under the seemingly transparent surface of the texts.

조선한자음(朝鮮漢字音)의 성립(成立)과 변천(變遷) (The Formation and Alternation of Sino-Korean Pronunciation)

  • In most Asian areas Chinese writing and characters had been used as a unique recording device. The way to account for the circumstance related with the writing system could be twofold. Firstly the races inhabited around Sino-territory actually neither used the type of languages as Chinese - not isolating type but agglutinative one - nor established any independent writing letters. Secondly those people who belonged to the races accepted the writing system of China due to the frequent cultural and economical interchange between them and Chinese people. In Korean peninsula the same situation of linguistic phenomenon had been pervasive. The aborigine of the territory who acquired to use Chinese writing applied their knowledge of the second language to record the facts related with the management of the country. But the grammatical structure of Chines writing and native language showed the remarkable contrast; so, the people of the peninsula managed the specific letter system - in other words, the discrepancy between language and writing. This difference carried on the huge influence on the way of using Chinese writing and characters in Korea. Some scholars of historical linguistics of Korean language considered the alternation of Chinese writing system and characters as "the procedure of nativization" - in which the inflow of characters into Korean and the same one continuously used in China illustrated the large gap of the phonological aspects. The method of reading Chinese characters came to be named as Sino-Korean Pronunciation. In the categorization of Chinese characters' pronunciation Sino-Korean Pronunciation was also categorized as the Eastern Pronunciation(東音). It indicates the sound of Chinese characters which has been historically adapted to the phonological system of Korean language. In this paper the main point is to survey the procedure of reception of Chinese writing and characters and that of establishment and alternation of Korean phonetic feature of Chinese writing and characters.

한의약학(韓醫藥學)의 삼대원전(三大原典)에 대한 비교 분석 (Comparative Analysis on The Great Three Books of Oriental Medicines)

  • In the Oriental Medicine field the great three reference books are Hwantienaekyung(黃帝內徑, HJNK), Sihnnongbonchokyung(神農本草經, BCK) and Shanghanlun(SHR). HJNK has been a theory book regarded as a bible of the Oriental Medicine, BCK, a herbal book with 365 species of red letters noticed from Bonchokyungjipjoo(本草經集註) and SHR, very important clinical book with concrete prescriptions for the therapy of patients. Though these books were written by Chinese people ca. 2000 years ago, yet they are no doubt very important and effective ones in these days. Unfortunately they are handed down to all transmitted books for a long times because original ones were destroyed by fire and another troubles. In this study we have tried to extract three common terminological words and common theories from the prescription law by theoretical principles(理法方藥, clinical therapeutic mechanism) acquired through the comparative analysis of these three books. They are qi(氣), cold or heat(寒熱) and yin & yang(陰陽), and their practical basic theories have been evidenced through exterior & interior of body(表裏) and deficiency or exessiveness(虛實) by the heat of Sun. Also we would have realized that Oriental Medicine should be analyzed through various scientific techniques and clinical experiences, and necessarily unified to yin & yang monism from qi theory of the Sun in all human's life cycle(生老病死).

사상(四象) 방제명(方劑名)의 영역(英譯) 표준화(標準化)에 대한 연구(硏究) (Research on Standardization of Sasang Typology Formulae English Translation)

  • Objectives: This study proposes a new form of English translation in comparison with that shown in English books related to Sasang Constitutional medicine formulae which have been published up to now. Methods: This study formulated a new form of English translation guidelines by making a comparative analysis of the English translation cases listed in "Korean-English Dictionary of Oriental Medicine", "Longevity and Life Preservation in Eastern Medicine", and "Introduction to Sasang Constitutional Medicine". Results: This study as a common rules suggested that names of preparation form should be placed at the very end of the formula name and the first letters of the major words of the formula name should be capitalized. In addition, for the sake of accuracy in English translation of the formula name, this study divided the formula names into 8 types. The 8 sorts of types include: (a) Materia Medica + Preparation Form, (b) Materia Medica + Indication + Preparation Form, (c) Materia Medica Numbers + Preparation Form, (d) Indication + Preparation Form, (e) Concept + Preparation Form, (f) Concept + Materia Medica + Preparation Form, (g) Concept + Indication + Preparation Form, (h) Etcetera. In these types, medicinal herbs should be written in scientific name, and translation of indication can follow Noun+~ing participle form. In case of the terms having a Korean-medicine-based meaning, this study aimed for source-oriented translation. Conclusions: This study provides a general English translation method and examples of the formula names for Sasang constitutional medicine.

다문화가정 초등학생의 읽기, 쓰기와 인지처리능력 연구 (A study on reading and writing and congnitive processing from multicultural in elementary)

  • 본 연구는 다문화가정 아동의 문식성을 알아보고 문식성에 영향을 주는 인지-언어적 변인이 무엇인지 밝히고자 하는 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 전라남도에 거주하는 초등 저학년 46명, 초등 고학년 39명, 전체 85명이다. 다문화가정 어머니의 한국 거주기간은 4~16년이고, 국적은 필리핀, 일본, 중국, 베트남, 캄보디아, 태국, 우즈베키스탄, 스리랑카이다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다문화가정 아동의 읽기, 쓰기, 인지-언어적 변인들은 학년이 높을수록 수행능력이 높았다. 둘째, 다문화가정 아동의 읽기 예언변인이 시지각 하위변인인 시각형태항상성으로 나타난 것은 읽기의 선행조건에서 세부특징이 중요하다는 것을 의미한다. 따라서 다문화가정 아동의 읽기는 친숙한 단어보다는 세부특징에 대한 단서를 잘 아는 것이 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 한글을 처음 배우는 단계에서 통글자 위주의 지도보다는 자음과 모음의 특징을 인식시키는 훈련이 먼저 필요함을 시사한다.

"우린 이대로가 좋아요!" -『애스펀의 편지』로 읽는 이리가라이식 여성성 ("We Like It Ourselves!": Reading Female Sexuality in The Aspern Papers)

  • This paper attempts an allegorical reading of female sexuality in Henry James' The Aspern Papers, wherein the narrator reveals his obsession with the love letters of the dead poet, Jeffrey Aspern. Not only the old papers, but does he also fetishize female protagonists in order to maintain his belief in the "great poet." Discussing such fetishistic elements in the novella is in order firstly to reveal the self-splitting logic of phallocentric language, and secondly to analyze the limitation of such language, which resonates with the Freudian construction of female sexuality as critically presented by Irigary. The first part of this study explains the binary structure of The Aspern Papers crystalized in the symbolic courtship in the Bordereaus' garden. It also represents the psychological mindset of the narrator/protagonist: symbolically located "outside," the narrator describes the two Bordereaus as being closed "inside" in a dark mansion, concealing the precious papers from him and the public. In other words, the women are nothing but the obstacle for the self-elected agent, the narrator, from the publication of the language and ideas of the "great man". The women are associated with secrecy and surreptitiousness, while the man with transparency and the truth. Second part of this paper mimics this In/Out binary as a means to reveal insufficiency, if not impropriety, of the predominant discourse of female sexuality constructed and controlled from the male perspective. Employing Irigary's argument, this paper reads the female characters as allegory for female sexual organs, which explains the narrator's inevitable failure. That is, female sexuality is something that cannot be articulated by the intruding language of a masculine subject. since the female sex as such is not only plural but also harmonious and self-contained,
